Chapter 136 - Chapter 136: Decision

Mike turned around and walked into the kitchen.

"I'm going to make a cup of coffee."

Eric got up and headed for the door.

Charles called back, "Make two more cups, for me and Dad."

Eric waved his hand to show he understood, pulled the door open and walked out.

He took a packet of cigarettes out of his pocket and with a flick of his hand, a cigarette popped out and was shoved into his mouth, but when he felt his pocket, he had forgotten his lighter.

He tapped his head and was about to go back to his room to get a lighter when a hand reached out from his side with a lighter.

"Hmm?"

He froze and smiled at Charles.

"I knew it, you couldn't resist a cigarette."

Charles lit it for him, slipped the lighter into his pocket and said, "I'll make the coffee, and ... smoke less."

Eric nodded and exhaled a leisurely puff of smoke, looking relaxed.

A cold breeze blew in and Eric shivered, but the smoke he exhaled hit him in the face, causing him to cough.

He couldn't help but curse in his heart, but Eric stubbornly exhaled again, turning his head to avoid the smoke as it struck his face, and couldn't help but laugh.

After the laugh, a look of confusion flashed across his eyes.

They were home, but what was he going to do next?

With his education, he would be able to eat and drink for the rest of his life, but the thought of spending his life like this didn't make him happy.

With a flick of his finger, the metal lighter in his pocket floated out, fluttering and twirling around his fingertips.

His powers had grown stronger and stronger over the years.

He had always felt that God had given him these powers for a reason.

But for the moment he hadn't found the reason.

He believed that Charles felt the same way about it.

When they were at university, they had already discussed this issue, but the result ... was that they did not come to a conclusion.

Or, in fact, they had vaguely understood what they needed to do, but were afraid to take the first step.

After smoking a cigarette, his mind was still very confused, Eric cursed, extinguished the cigarette in his hand, then shook his head with a bitter smile and walked back into the house.

He looked up and saw Mike and Charles sitting on the sofa, watching the news intently.

On the television, the news about mutants was playing.

Several mutant children had been arrested for using their powers to commit crimes, and as they were arrested, they were shouting the name of the Black Queen.

Then came a news report of what the Black Queen had done over the years, leading the mutants of Hellfire.

As he watched, Eric walked slowly to the sofa and sat down next to Mike.

The news wasn't over yet, it was still on about the mutants.

Some condemned mutants, some even said that mutants were monsters, that mutants were criminals, and of course, there were those who sympathised with mutants ...

Mike noticed the expressions on the two men's faces and simply turned off the TV.

The two men were silent, their expressions appearing very grave, as well as a hint of bewilderment.

A moment later, Charles was the first to break the silence.

He squeezed out a smile and said.

He said, "It's good to be a kid."

He suddenly remembered the time he and Eric had grabbed the TV remote and accidentally seen the encrypted channel.

It had been really impressive, but he hadn't seen it once since, not even now.

Because after a real battle, he suddenly felt that this thing was just that ...

Eric shook his head and said, "But we can't be children forever."

The two men fell silent.

Mike got up, brought them coffee, sat down opposite them, pushed it in front of their faces and took a sip for himself.

It was bitter, but after the bitterness, it smelled good, and there was even a hint of sweetness that kept spreading.

He looked at them and suddenly said, "Don't you really have any ideas?"

The two men looked up at Mike with a jerk, but their hearts felt a sense of relief at being seen.

The two men couldn't help but sigh in relief, and when they saw Mark smiling at them, they couldn't help but smile too.

"Tell me what you think, and don't worry about me, I'm not as rigid as you think."

With that, Mike squeezed his eyes at the two men and smiled, "Maybe I can even give you some advice."

They nodded and after a few seconds of silence, Eric said, "Dad, did Charles and I come into this world so that we could do something? Why else would we have these powers."

Mike put down his glass and said, "To do what? It's your power, and whatever you do, it's your choice! It's not what you're allowed to do, it's what you're willing to do with it."

"Think about what do you want to do with them."

The two men fell silent and Charles laughed bitterly, "Actually, we already had an idea before, but we were afraid you would object."

Mike raised his eyebrows, but in his mind he already had an answer.

Eric said, "We need to do something for the mutants."
