Chapter 29 - Chapter 28

The rest of the week went suspiciously quiet. They really did leave me alone. It just felt odd how it was like a switch the way they did. Here one second, gone the next. But it wasn't just them. Drew left me alone too, which isn't like him. I even texted him but there was no response.

Is he mad at me so he's turning a cold shoulder to me? But all those messages and calls before were from him. I didn't even respond until a couple days after. And in this whole week he hasn't come to see me, not that I want him too.

I've stayed home this whole week and nothing from Drew. It was very strange. But I the end I was enjoying the peace and quiet. Being alone for so long felt so good after being surrounded for so long. I don't think I even left my room for the most part.

I laid my head back and sighed as I flicked my wrist about trying to make it feel better after writing so much. Now I was working on all of my school stuff that I forgot about and kind of regretted waiting until the last minute.

I heard a knock on my door and turned my head in that direction. By now I didn't care who it was.

"Come in."

Slowly my doorknob turned as it creaked until it opened just a bit. Then a head popped in and immediately I knew who it was as the almost drown, dirty blonde covered head stayed down as if the owners eyes were glued to the ground.

"Oh. Hey Jonathan. What's up?"

I know he had to be here for something and frankly I didn't mind the distraction.

He came in a little more and looked around hesitantly. It was cute the way he was acting shy and scared right now and I had to stop myself from giggling.

Wait, what did I just say? Cute?! Really?

I put the thought aside and cleared my throat trying to focus on the person in front of me and the fact that this is first contact after about a week.

He slowly inched closer as in uncomfortable coming into my room before looking at my, his brown eyes melting me just a little from the lack of contact in a while. I wasn't prepared for it.

"I was, uh, just wondering what you were doing since, you know, I haven't seen you in a while."

"Oh ok. That makes sense."

There was a moment of silence and I started to feel a little uncomfortable as memories came flooding in with him here reminding me of the others and my time with them. Out of all of them he was the only one to have not done anything. It only made him seem more cute and pure.

What am I saying?! Shut up brain!

"Well I've got some school work to do so if you don't mind-"

"Really? What is it?"

Suddenly he perked up becoming completely interested I. What I was doing. It reminded me of the last time we were like this when he saw my book and we ended up talking about something else.

I sighed and decided to tell him what piece of homework I was going to do next.

"It's nothing really. Just a book report for that book I've been reading for class. The one we talked about."

I watched as his eyes seemed to just light up.

"Can I help?"

I looked at him surprised.

"You want to help? Why?"

I've never heard anyone jump to the idea of helping someone else with school work unless they got something in return. Jonathan looked like he wanted nothing out of it.

"It sounds like fun."

"Fun?"

"Well it's with you and I'm helping you so... I don't know... it just... seems that way."

Jonathan looked at the side fiddling with his shirt sleeves as he fumbled around with his words blushing a bit.

I got an idea at what he was trying to say as I thought about the last time we were together like this and the words he mumbled out then. I got the message he was basically sending and started to blush a little myself seeing that he was starting to be a little more forward.

"Fine," I said turning back to my desk. "Come on in then."

I could tell he was happy with my response as I heard my door close not to long after.

If I really thought about it he was really like a child deep inside, wasn't he?

I heard him walk up to me as he shuffled his feet my way seeming to still be nervous.

I looked over at him to only see his smiling face staring back.

"Let's get started on this."
