Immediately Jonathan let go of me and stared at the ground like it was the most interesting thing. He let his hair fall down a bit as it covered his eyes but his red stained checks were still visible.
I wanted to reach out to him but stopped myself before messing this up any more than I already did.
I should at least say something, right? If I don't the thick air around us will only get worse until it suffocates us.
I opened my mouth again about to say something when I heard a large thump that even Jonathan looked up to. His cheeks were still a bit red but I ignored that as I got up to go downstairs and see what was going on.
I walked out of my room and to the top of the stairs with Jonathan loosely behind me. I looked down and saw Drake looking out the doors window with his fist on the wall. Everyone else was gathered around him.
"It's that guy. What the hell is he doing here?"
Drake's voice was full of anger but I couldn't really tell why.
Who was at the door?
"Who is it?"
I looked at Alex as he asked the question in my mind before I could. I shook my head and started heading down the stairs.
"That friend of hers," Drake snarled.
I heard Christopher grunt from the back and I quickly made my way to the door.
"Move it people! Don't just stand around and block the door."
They were surprised I just knew it. I mean for the first time in days they saw me. And not only that but coming with Jonathan loosely behind me.
I pushed Drake out of the way and opened the door only to see Drew.
Great. After days of no contact he just appears right at my door. Just what I wanted.
When he saw me he smiled and his eyes lit up as he pushed himself on me into a hug.
"Sam! I was so worried! I'm so sorry for not texting you. I can explain, really, I promise!"
I was stuck there frozen in shock as Drew held onto me squeezing my body.
They were seeing this. They had to be.
Just great.
"Uh, Drew. Please get off of me. You're hurting me a little," I said as I felt him start to squeeze the breath out of me.
He got off of me but kept his hands on my arms content on keeping me in his hold.
"I'm sorry for not contacting you or coming sooner. You see, my mom saw my grades and grounded me for the week and took my phone away. And-"
"Drew! Calm down. Let's discuss this somewhere else."
Anywhere out of the guys earshot.
Sadly though Drew couldn't pass up the opportunity to be himself and I watched as his sly grin grew on his lips.
"Oh, can't wait to be alone with me? Do you really miss me that much? Has the time we've been apart been too much for you to bear?"
I yanked off his hands and grabbed one of them as I started pulling him inside.
"Shut up. As if I'd think that."
The guys were staring and I could tell Drew was looking back at them. I could feel him start to ask questions in his head but ignored it.
Crap. That's right. I never told him about the others.
I forcefully pulled Drew along with me before he could ask any of the questions he was thinking. I walked straight to the stairs and up them to my room and closed the door behind us once we were in.
I let out some air.
I have a lot of explaining to do.
