Chereads / Drugs + Love = Addicted (English version) / Chapter 7 - Always On My Bed

Chapter 7 - Always On My Bed

Clara and I were already in a room full of noise and blaring electric music. Occupying the VIP corner as usual, only this time using my own pass. I made it right then and there. Who knows one day I'll need it, without bothering Clara. Sometimes we need privacy, even if it's just to hangout.

My eyes scanned around the large room that was already feeling stuffy with a crowd of people. In the center of the room, right above the floor that flickered to the beat of the music, tens or maybe even hundreds of people were dancing. Colorful lights highlight the sea of people below. My eyes glaze over for a moment.

In another corner, several women sat on the laps of the men. Doing the hot scenes they should have done in an enclosed space. That's why I never sleep with the guy I met at the club. Their lips had been licked by some women. No one even knew they had made love to the maids, then continued with a random woman who happened to be drunk, then invited to a hotel and woke up naked.

Lucky if they leave money, or even cums. But what if they leave something terrible behind? Disease, for example. Or ends with a cut in the neck, followed by news of the death or kidnapping in a number of newspapers and television media.

Just imagining it makes me shudder.

This time Clara didn't want to repeat the scene she had previously played, by teasing a stranger man who came to the club. She just finished her drink while sitting quietly. Hmm ... not a Clara habit I know.

"What's wrong with you?" I asked, teasing her. She took a sip of her vodka tonic before answering my question with another question.

"What does it mean?" Clara asked, looking confused. Or maybe just pretending to be confused.

"You don't want to throw the hook?" I asked again, clarifying the previous question. This time, of course she understood what I meant.

She laughed blandly in response to my joke which was more like a mockery. Maybe she was afraid of waking up in another bed with a stranger, again.

"Today I'm going to play like a flower that attracts insects with just a scent. You'll see!" she replied, as if my joke was a challenge for her. Well, maybe so, because Clara is a girl that a lot of guys are interested in—from what I know. And she's also the type who likes to be the center of attention.

"Okay, I believe it. Really. Your charm has never faded since we were in Junior High School class, you have always been the most wanted. I admit it ...." She nodded proudly at my comment. "But ... please, don't did something like the other day. Spending the night with a stranger man, is very dangerous for you."

She rolled her eyes. "Oh, Grandma, did you forget that you were the one who taught me to do that? How many men have ended up in your bed? Huh?"

She looks annoyed. But as usual, I always play calm.

"Wait, you just said it, Clara. They ended up in my bed, not the other way around. And that's different from what you did. Okay?!"

She scowled at my answer which of course was correct again. I've never really been in a relationship with a guy, not seriously. But I know how to play my cards right. Meanwhile Clara? She is like an innocent girl who has been careless several times when it comes to men.

"You don't have to use the past to accuse me, Jameson!" she shouted, did not accept what I said to her.

"What? Accusing you? Are you seriously saying that?"

She looked away, while I sighed at my best friend's behavior.

"Never mind ... I don't want to get you into a fight." I tried to thaw back the atmosphere that was starting to freeze. Like I always do.

We've been friends for a long time, and in our friendship I've always been the one to fix the relationship. If she is angry, then I will give in to calm her heart.

Just like what I'm doing now, get closer to her and try to calm her annoyance.

"Clara, look, you know I love you more than myself. The thought of you repeating your past mistakes, it honestly worries me. I don't want you to get into trouble. That's all," I said. She was still motionless, at first. But then turned around and smiled.

"I know that, idiot. I'm not mad. Just annoyed when you keep tying what I did to it. It happened when I was in my teens, Jen. I'm an adult now. I know what I have to do and it's good for me."

"Thanks for that," I replied shortly, then took a sip of the last drop of my drink.

At the same time, I felt a vibration from the cell phone that I put in my handbag. I just peeked for a moment then ignored it. Before long, a man came and immediately took his place beside Clara. Just as she said, they would come like insects approaching a flower.

And, again ... I'm just being a display here. But no, when my phone vibrated again. This time I won't ignore it, I promise. I see who calls at a time like this and becomes my savior. Thankfully, it's Blake.

"H-hello? What? Sorry I can't hear your voice, it's very noisy in here. I'll be outside for a bit," I said with an unusual volume. How come? The sound of music seemed to swallow other sounds, including mine.

Fine, I'm out now. So what?

"Jenna? Are you still there?" asked Blake, on the other line.

"Y-yes! I'm outside now. Much better. What did you say earlier?" I asked, confirming what I had not heard back inside.

"I'm in front of your house, but it seems you're not there. Maybe another—"

"No. Wait! I'm going home now."
