Chapter 12 - Unbreak My Heart

Unbreak My Heart

- Toni Braxton -

Don't leave me in all this pain .. Don't leave me out in the rain

Come back and bring back my smile .. Come and take these tears away

I need your arms to hold me now .. The nights are so unkind

Bring back those nights when I held you beside me

===============

"Pa, what do you mean? Marry?" Vince squinted as he and his father arrived in his room.

His father smiled crookedly as he lightly patted his son's shoulder. "Papa tried to call you on the day you came home, but your cell phone was never reachable."

"Pa, do you have to get married?"

"Yes, Vin."

"With her?"

"Yes."

"Do you know her well?"

"Yeah, Vin. Oh, come on, don't make this happy day turn bad, Son." His father rubbed his son's athletic arm, asking for understanding.

Vince sighed. His mind cried, 'Happy day for you, but a sad day for me, Pa!' He ruffled his hair in frustration, wanting to express his emotions but finding it impossible. "Must it be this fast? Without waiting for my approval?"

"Gosh, Vin! What's wrong with you?" Mr. Benetton was beginning to wonder at his son's behavior. Not like the usual Vince. "So what if Papa wants to marry again?"

Vince knew he had to hold his tongue, as he wanted to say that the woman wearing the wedding cheongsam in the reading room was his beloved woman.

No. He couldn't say anything about his relationship with Ruby. It could all be messed up later.

"Pa, don't you think about Mama?" Finally, Vince's final step was to convince his father that his second marriage was not a good idea.

"Vin, your mama died a dozen years ago. Can't Papa accept a girl's love again for the rest of Papa's life? Before I die?" ask Mr. Benetton to his son.

The boy could only blink his eyes quickly because he didn't get the right answer to his father's comment. Very striking. His father managed to silence Vince. He racked his brain, looking for other offensive sentences that could make his father undo his intentions.

"Vin? Come on, Kid." Mr. Benetton's face seemed to be begging his son for understanding.

"You two met when I was in London?" It was a thrill to ask that question. Vince hoped his father's answer was not what he had in mind.

"You could ... so to speak." Mr. Benetton was a little hesitant.

"What do you mean, Pa? Just be honest with me." Vince Hong was getting madder. His heart was pounding.

"She ... she's Papa's ex-girlfriend." Mr. Benetton reveals what he's been hiding for a long time.

Vince widened his eyes in shock. "Huh?! Ex ... girlfriend? When was that?"

"You mean when? When did Papa go out with her? Oh, that ... about 7 years ago. She was Papa's secretary. But actually, our first met when she was a student at the university."

Vince squinted again. "When she was a student? How old is she now?" Vince was perplexed by this part because he never knew Ruby's exact age.

"She's 32 now. Well, our gap is 24 years, but it doesn't matter. As long as we're happy together, right?" The owner of the Jinlong Group said it so lightly, without knowing the roar of the child's feelings.

Vince huffed in his place. He had thought that Ruby's age was a lot closer to him, though that didn't reduce his love if it wasn't. He loved Ruby just the way she was, not based on age.

What made him angry was that Ruby was his father's ex-girlfriend. And his father had also told him about their reunion when Vince was in London. The next story was lazily imagined by Vince.

As he struggles to save the company from collapsing, Ruby re-knits her and Vince's father's love. It felt like Vince's head almost exploded.

"Son, hurry up and change into something more formal." His father pleaded. He had no idea if his future bride had ever been in a relationship with his only son, the foundation of his hope.

Without answering, Vince came out of his father's room to his own room. Just want to disappear!

"Ow!"

Shocked, Vince Hong realized he had bumped into someone while walking to the ground floor. With the flash moving, he quickly reached out to reach the girl he bumped into.

The girl would have almost rolled down the stairs if Vince Hong hadn't quickly caught her hand.

"Ah, sorry. I ... I was in a hurry." Vince Hong was not feeling well on his own. "Are you all right?" He examined the girl from top to bottom; who knows if there was a wound or what?

That young woman shook her head. "No. I'm fine. But, well ... Auntie's ring box fell." She answered quietly, as if she was afraid.

Vince's eyes immediately searched for the box in question. "That blue velvet box over there, isn't it?" He pointed to a box sitting at the bottom of the stairs.

The girl followed the direction of Vin's index finger, then nodded. "Yeah, right. That it is."

Vince Hong was quick to respond, and he rushed downstairs to get the blue velvet box. There is a logo of an internationally renowned jewelry store on it.

Vince's breath was heavy as he closed the small box again. He tried to make his face as normal as possible and turned to face the girl at the top of the stairs.

"Your aunt? Who?" Vince Hong asked as he stepped back up the steps where the girl was waiting.

"She's the br—"

"Ying'er!" Suddenly, a voice called out to the girl.

"Aunt Xuehua!" The girl also carved a big smile at Ruby who had just called on the stairs downstairs.

Vince Hong looked down when he reached the girl. "She is ... your aunt?" he asked the girl.

Vince's eyes felt cold when he looked at Ruby, who was now wearing a very beautiful cheongsam wedding dress that wrapped Ruby's perfect body.

Yes, perfect in Vince's eyes.
