Lui Feng walked back to his car and drove back home, his demeanor was cold right now and the aura around him was dark and dangerous. When he got back to the mansion almost everyone was wishing him congratulations the moment they saw him but he just nodded in reply.
Due to the fact that he announced his engagement to her, he had to tighten the security around her, while he waited for the day he'd have her by his side to protect her, or else who knew what his father would do.
He walked towards his study where he telepathically called Aiguo and the beta immediately arrived.
"Congratulations on your engagement", he said and Lui Feng nodded his head in acknowledgement. Aiguo began to inform him of the activities of the pack while he was away and their enemies' movement, Lui Feng had to take care of a lot tonight if he was going to have any time tomorrow.
"Aiguo gather the men, hope they've had enough rest because we're taking care of a lot tonight", he said and then walked to the training grounds where he was going to explain everything they'd be doing tonight.
Lui Feng couldn't wait and toy with them this time they'd all be planning to target his new weakness Ying Yue, not that she hadn't always been his weakness but now it was known to everyone.
His enemies would probably put two and two together and find out she's Lady Li Jing the former mistress of the Lui pack and do everything in their power to get to her. He wasn't going to let that happen though, they immediately moved out to strike while the iron was still hot.
They weren't done until dawn and most of them especially the weaker wolves were completely exhausted and there was quite a casualty, most higher levels were fine though. Lui Feng came out covered in blood, most of it wasn't his, but he didn't mind. All he wanted to do was go clear things up with Ying Yue.
When he got back to the mansion, his men were taking care of all the casualties from the battle. He walked upstairs where he found Lui Shui in his room, typical. His 'dear' brother never knew privacy or asked for permission. He looked furious but Lui Feng just carried on as if he didn't exist.
"How dare you?!" Shui exclaimed, and there it was, what he was patiently waiting for his brother to say. He just looked at him as if he didn't understand what he was talking about. "And you always said I was the one putting her in danger, but you went ahead and got engaged to her when the time for you to be crowned as Alpha is nearing", Lui Shui said the anger evident in his voice, normally he wouldn't care what his brother did but he knew the danger she'd be in and the fear of losing her crept in. He was furious at his brother for doing something so outrageous and most especially dangerous.
"Who gave you the right to tell me how to protect her, when you're the danger I'm supposed to keep her from", Lui Feng said unable to keep quiet anymore. He was right why the hell did he care about her safety? He was supposed to be the one trying to harm her.
Even in this life, she had him wrapped around her fingers. He growled his brown eyes slowly turning green, he couldn't let his defenses waver but they had been turned into nothingness. He sighed inwardly.
"I won't hesitate to take her away from you the moment there's a fault in your defenses", he said and walked away nonchalantly, trying his best to hide his emotions.
Lui Feng just sighed, no matter what danger he was to Ying Yue, he still felt bad harming him. He remembered when they were once inseparable but the moment it was announced that he'd be crowned Alpha instead of his brother, they slowly started drifting apart, he sighed inwardly.
His biggest enemy was his power. At that particular moment, he detested the power he possessed. He let out a breath and went to clean up and get dressed.
After an hour he drove down to Yu Yan's place, his expression was bored but deep down he was nervous. He wondered what her reaction would be like, wondered what she would say or ask, wondered whether she would listen to the warning bells and leave him alone.
It was too late now though. He had made up his mind, she had already been announced as his soon-to-be mate, so he couldn't let her go... or he wouldn't.
Ying Yue was shocked at the happenings of last night, she still had the red marks on her wrists to convince her it wasn't a dream, she bit her lip immersed in her world of thoughts.
What was wrong with Feng? Why did he announce her engagement to him when it wasn't true? Though he did promise to explain everything to her today, her thoughts couldn't help but go haywire, she just let out an exasperated sigh.
She was going to let him explain everything first, if the worst came she was going to probably end up acting as his fiancée, but she kept her thoughts positive. She looked at her phone she thought of calling him but then she realized that she hadn't gotten his number.
She had gotten dressed almost an hour ago she wore a big white T-shirt and blue jeans which matched her eyes, she wore cherry red lipstick and a blue pendant with silver designs. She was playing games on her phone it was a Sunday and she had nothing to do.
Yu Yan was watching a movie downstairs, she was a lot soul when it came to anything related to K-drama and anime, she couldn't blame her though. She had avoided watching with her so she'd be able to leave the house today.
The anticipation was killing her already, he had never been late and she had never been impatient, she laughed at how childish she was acting like a kid waiting for her mom...
Before her thoughts could continue she heard the doorbell ring, she immediately rushed downstairs, she saw Yu Yan at the door talking sternly to someone but her mind went blank when she saw the person's face, he looked breathtaking, and she suddenly felt self-conscious.
He wore a black top and a black blazer with intricate gold embroidery with black pants to match, he looked like a handsome devil who just ascended from hell to tempt her. She wasn't able to take her eyes off him and his gaze met hers.
A light blush adorned her face and she clutched her phone tightly, her heart always refused to calm down when she was around him. Coupled with the fact that he seemed as nervous as her, his cuteness was killing her.
Feng heard her hastened heartbeats and it caused a small smile to appear on his face, he completely ignored the girl currently stressing her friend's safety. He couldn't help the subtle tinge of anxiety when his gaze met hers.
He continued to enjoy the sound of her heart pounding in her chest and he salivated the thought of the day her heart would beat for him and only him. It seemed as if her feet were glued to the ground as she stared at him, without a hint of shyness, she was getting bold. He wasn't one to use his powers but since she stayed there unmoving.
'Come here Ying' she suddenly heard and as if under his control she walked towards him with a dazed expression on her face. She took slow steps, he wasn't able to force her to move quicker and he wasn't planning on it, her mental capability was intriguing.
Yu Yan just rubbed her forehead, she couldn't believe how smitten her friend was by this man, whatever she'd just get back to watching anime and hope Ying could take care of herself, since she trusted him maybe she should too, she smiled sheepishly and immediately disappeared back into the living room.
When she got to him he gave a small smile and dragged her out the door towards his car.
"So where do you want to go?" He asked with a grin on his face, while Ying wondered why he was in such a happy mood, not knowing that the reason he was so happy right now was because of the way her heart raced around him, it made him happy that he felt something towards him, even in this life.
"It's a surprise!" Ying Yue replied all of a sudden and her eyes brightened up. She tugged his shirt, held his hand and dragged him away, making him lost in the feeling of her touch.
