"Wait!" Lui Feng said and walked towards the stage his expression calm and stark, he glared at the man who was on the stage and though he was shaken, the man didn't look remorseful in the slightest. Poor thing was digging his own grave unknowingly, he was simply following orders and was loyal only to the former Alpha of the Lui pack.
Everyone in the hall, who was ready to celebrate was shaken by the Alpha's reverberating voice. The announcement made by his one of father's men couldn't be annulled as it had never been heard of with the Lui family going back on their own words. But it could be corrected.
"It is completely accurate that I'm getting engaged but there must have been some mistake somewhere. Because I'm not getting engaged to Qi Meili, but this lady with me instead, Ying Yue", he stated and Ying was utterly shocked at his words was that why he pleaded for her to trust him?
She remembered the words of the man on the dance floor and she bit the bottom of her lip because she was confused about what to do all eyes were on her to authenticate his words and she slowly nodded.
At that moment she realized she was a lost cause when it came to Lui Feng, she completely trusted this man with all her heart.
Mr Lui was shocked at his son's words but he should have expected something like this from the boy, he was completely bewitched by that human, but she wouldn't be a problem when the red moon appeared as Lui Feng wouldn't be able to keep her with him during that time unless he wanted her dead.
He smirked and resumed drinking his wine, he had planned such a perfect future of glory for the Lui pack, and not even his son could ruin that for him.
He glanced at Qi Meili who was fuming with rage he expected much better from her but it seemed she was not up to standards. He was going to have to work on that by enhancing her willpower through enticing her with what she craved the most... power.
The man who danced with Ying Yue sighed and walked away. 'You never learn, do you?' he thought, his grey eyes shimmering under the moonlight as he suddenly disappeared into thin air.
Back in the hall, everyone was confused about the sudden announcement, they didn't know whether to be happy or disappointed, happy that the Alpha was getting engaged or disappointed that it was a human who didn't deserve such but since werewolves mingled with humans more often it wasn't really a big deal.
Even if he did make the human his mate he could just have a female wolf bear his child, so many thoughts were running through the minds of the people present, and at last, they finally applauded and started giving their best wishes to the Alpha and their soon-to-be Luna.
Most of them began to say sweet words to curry her favor despite their displeasure. After the ball ended Feng immediately took Ying to the car, noticing her uneasiness with the sudden attention she was getting.
She was going to be his mate sooner or later so she had to get used to it now, but he had a lot of explaining to do when they got back. He decided to ask her about what she and the grey-eyed man were talking about.
"About the rude man who cut in, what did he say to you?" Feng asked the irritation with the man's act was evident in his voice but what she said made Lui Feng lose it.
"Nothing, he was just making small talk", she replied and it was obvious that she was lying this made his possessiveness of her strike in.
How could she let another man touch her and even say something to her that she couldn't tell him, his expression turned darker and darker and the the temperature dropped immensely.
Lui Feng immediately went to the driver's seat and drove off, his blood boiled and he didn't know when he drove to the Lui mansion, it was as if his inner demons had completely taken over him.
He stormed out of the car and she followed wondering what she could have said to make him so angry. The only word that was reverberating through Feng's head was.
'Mine!' he had completely lost control at that moment and before she knew it she was pinned to the wall and his eyes showed a light shade of red, his gaze was fierce and he was causing a lot of pain to her wrists which were burning under his touch.
"Feng", Ying said as calmly as she could but her heart was racing right now, his gaze got fiercer and their faces were just inches away from each other.
"Feng snap out of it", she said out of reflex, not knowing where that came from, and as if her words finally got to him his gaze softened and he let her go. He looked embarrassed and resentful.
"S-sorry, I'll explain everything tomorrow, let me drive you back, Yu Yan will be waiting for you", he said meekly there was no sign of his authoritative and egoistic aura.
She just smiled and walked towards the car, he ruffled his hair roughly, where the hell did that come from? He had been able to control it all his life but now he was at a loss for words, he hoped he didn't scare her too much, he could give himself a thorough beating right now. She was definitely going to ask questions or probably do her best to avoid him, he could only be selfish and ask her to trust him, no matter what.
He walked back to the car where she was quietly sitting not daring to say a word and the silence was driving him crazy by the second.
Finally, they got to their destination, she waved at him and left. Yu Yan gave him a death glare after noticing the state of her best friend as if saying 'You were supposed to take care of her' and he deserved it, he sighed inwardly and walked down the alley, a certain someone was calling out to him, the grey-eyed man.
"I told you'd cause her nothing but harm, for once just listen to me Feng", he said as if begging the stubborn man in front of him.
"I'm sorry but she has completely bewitched me and you know she's my mate", he growled and the blonde couldn't help but sigh.
"This fated love was supposed to be avoided at all costs, if you won't listen let's just hope my stubborn relative will", he said and disappeared leaving Lui Feng to his thoughts, he knew from the start he had been warned, but he cared too much, he hoped the gods could spare him this once...
'If love conquers all let mine conquer too.' He pleaded.
He wanted her to be safe but he was just too selfish to push her away, he couldn't live without her, he couldn't even imagine a life without her, forgive me, Ying Yue. We'll just have to go against the world together then and rewrite our destiny because I can't imagine leaving you.
