" Sister--"
Diana froze and her eyes shook as her gaze meets Molina's gaze, the older woman glances at her as if she expected her to appear out of nowhere. No trace of her expression faltering.
The older woman stayed unaffected and composed as she drinks from a straw of her Milktea, genuinely enjoying her drink.
Yet what made Diana dumbfounded was Molina's calm behavior but on her change of appearance.
No, she was still the same yet so different than what she looked like from the past.
Just like fine wine, a woman who matured and grew into a beauty that exudes a dangerous kind of charm and mystery, her appearance didn't change for the worse as she expected. It's as if she never went through any hardships when she left three years ago with nothing. NOTHING.
What? Why? Why does she look alright?!!!
" M-Molina??" Dave was the last person to know it was the young Sylvia who was in front of them. In the public place and with a cheap meal on her table, she sat there unbothered by the noise around.
The moment he realized it was Molina who was the person in front of Diana, he couldn't understand why it looked like he saw a different person.
Molina finished her burger and Milktea and wiped her hands with a tissue.
Her eyes looked at the bodyguards on the other table, which was behind the trio who arrived to ruin her peace. The bodyguards were ready to stand and interfere with the group but Eve gave them a look and immediately they understood.
They couldn't do anything but observe. Helen had just returned from the bathroom and saw people whispering around.
Eve predicted people would recognize her, and now Diana and her two male leads were here, it would obviously make people focus on them.
Eve checks her phone which was made for information transmission that was connected to her home computer that was on standby, sending her live feed of her tracker. Although she could only see 1 video at a time if she switches cameras, it was enough for her to scout the whole city. She sent a few commands to her computer and found no suspicious individual was near her vicinity.
She puts her phone down.
"It's been three years, seems like you were just around the city. What a small world. " Dave took a step closer and look at her fully, she was wearing a white collar and light peach-colored working pants, her peach-colored coat nowhere to be seen. Dave thought she was just wearing casual attire for her office work.
Diana saw the slight change of temperament when Dave spoke and she frowns. Jonathan stood on the side and only quietly observes her.
Eve looks at them and then decides to entertain them for a few minutes.
" What a small world indeed, are you here to eat as well? I didn't know you like eating in fast-foods Dave " she smiles lightly, there was a friendly around her making it harder to doubt her.
To be the person who receives such a warm smile and from Molina no less, made Dave stiffen. He was caught off guard by her gentle tone and was unsure of what to say next.
Diana didn't like how Molina was talking and she doesn't like her tone, she wasn't pleased to see her face!
" Molina, how have you been? You must have a hard time, your situation mustn't be easy these past years~" Diana sat in the chair across her and Molina didn't mind how she just invited herself to occupy her Helen's seat, she smiled kindly but behind her smile was amusement.
Molina then invites the two men to take a seat since they would be catching up with each other while she finishes her fries.
Once she's done eating, she'll leave. It wasn't the right time yet.
Dave didn't hesitate to seat next to Molina and Jonathan was being on his guard, he sat next to Diana, his eyes still glued to her.
Observing, searching, and checking for any flaws in her act. Hoping she would slip out of her masked and pretend smile.
Eve didn't meet his ex-fiancé gaze, she lets him watch her. It's not like she would get hurt from a gaze.
" I'm doing pretty well actually, thank you for your concern. " Eve smiles, she was unbothered by their stares as continues to eat. " and as for my situation, after I left, there wasn't any problem. I manage to be able to stand on my own as you can see."
Diana grits her teeth, glaring at how calm Molina was. Her expression slightly changed, but she was able to conceal it. Her smile returned but she couldn't hide her dislike from her tongue, behind her words of concern were just plain ridicule of her older sister.
" Oh come on don't be shy about your situation, you can tell me honestly, I am still your sister, after all, ~ you must have a hard time adjusting to being a middle-class citizen! Just tell me if you needed anything, I can offer a place for you to stay. It's been so long since I saw you, we should meet again after today!"
Diana spoke enthusiastically and gleefully that Eve had to stop eating and gave her an unreadable look.
Why so you can poison my drink and kill me as you did with Hubert?
So hiring a pervert criminal wasn't enough for you?
Eve shakes her head after and chuckles as if she heard something funny from the blond woman.
" I don't think that would be appropriate, after all, it wouldn't look good for you to associate yourself with me. After all, when we are in the same room, things tend to happen, I don't want to cause any more trouble. " Eve continues to eat and drink.
Not expecting a rejection from Molina made Diana feel something boiling inside her, she turns to Dave for help, yet the man was busy staring at the other woman. It only made Diana angrier.
Eve ignores Diana's hostile and blatant stare, as she turns her gaze at Jonathan, surprisingly the man.
" Enough about me, I heard a lot of positive news while I was away " she casually leans her back to lean on the seat " How have you all been? "
" oh well, I'm-"
Before Dave could answer properly, Diana cut his words off with a loud smack of her hands on the table, this surprised the two men and Eve quietly watches the next scene unfold.
" Why don't you want us to ask more about you? Are you ashamed of something? Or are you avoiding the question? Hah, that must be it! " Head filled with made-up images of Molina's struggling, Diana laughs mockingly, she had suddenly gotten an idea!
Eve knew what was gonna happen next, she continued to stay silent.
" You left too suddenly that years and never once contacted us, and when I asked you to visit Father's funeral you never replied. We searched for you so that you can at least let father rest knowing his two daughters are by his side while we say goodbye but you never-" Jonathan immediately comforted her, his worried eyes searched her face. Dave looks at her, his expression suddenly changes.
" Shh calm down it's okay, you need to calm down Diana " Jonathan gently pats her back.
" I'm fine, it's just, seeing Molina made me remember father suddenly... I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say those things, I can't control my emotions...I shouldn't have said that " She sobs and wipes her tears, Dave immediately gave her his handkerchief.
" It's not your fault Diana " Dave coaxes her, his tone sweet and gentle towards her.
Eve raises a brow, are you saying it's my fault then?
" I'm sorry Eve but could you please leave us for a while, Diana shouldn't be stressed and it seems it's not proper for both of you to meet for now " Jonathan firmly says. Displeased with how Molina was looking all the time, unaffected by a pregnant woman crying.
The sobbing could be heard and people were now looking at their table, resulting in whispers from the bystanders to be exchanged around.
Unaffected, Eve stands from her seat and left her unfinished fries. She could see the manager of the establishment was walking in her direction.
She almost blurted out her thoughts.
They came to my seat first and disturbed me from enjoying my meal, and now I'm gonna get kicked out from the establishment.
She smirks, now this is the female lead halo.
The manager was about to handle the scene and take Molina outside when Dave unexpectedly help her out. He told the staff it was unnecessary to drag her out.
Dave then turn to her and handed her both Diana and his own business cards.
" If ever find yourself in trouble financially or even anything, just give us a call. " Dave didn't know why but he pities this woman, although she looked like she's fine. He knew Molina well, and she is a prideful woman who will never admit her struggles.
Diana saw him helping Molina and gave out both his and her own business card, Diana then spoke gently, voice still weak from her sudden (fake) emotional outburst.
" I'm sorry for today Molina, if your need anything, you can contact us, we will help you with anything you need. Don't be ashamed and just come find us okay? "
The business cards were now on Eve's hand.
She stared at it for a while and she almost tore it apart in front of them when she caught sight of one of her bodyguards talking on the phone.
Eve takes out her phone and realized it wasn't her handphone, it was her transmission device.
Eve then checks on her pockets and realized it wasn't there. She remembers not having it in the first place after coming here and was left in the car.
" Molina? " Dave's voice caught her attention and she looks at him and then to the business card in her hands.
Right. I'm just gonna leave.
" I'll try to call " She didn't wait for a reply and left, hurrying to return to the car but before she could take two more steps away from the table, one of her men then moves to her side.
" The president asks for you Madam. "
Surprising the three behind Molina, Diana immediately sat straight and curiously looks at them.
Eve looks at her bodyguard as he gives her the phone. With a raised brow, she takes it and looks at the screen.
The caller ID was definitely Alexander as he was named " President Miller " as his contact info.
Eve had moved away. She walks as Helen who was holding her coat followed and the bodyguards then were surrounding her were surveying the area as they left.
Molina didn't get to see the three people's reaction, she was occupied with the unexpected call from Alexander. They headed back to the parking lot as Eve placed the phone near her ear.
" Hello?" Eve answers, she was slightly tired but a cold voice made her forgot such a thing.
" Why didn't you pick up my calls? "
