Valerie ran towards the stables in the Dubois mansion. She crossed paths with several maids and knights. Valerie simply tied her hair in a ponytail and replaced her dress with a comfortable cotton shirt and dark brown trousers. It was the clothes that nobles usually wore when riding or hunting.
"Sorry, I don't have time to explain," Valerie spoke to one of the humans who was brushing the mane of Duke Dubois' beloved dashing horse. The horse was golden brown with a slightly haughty look in his eyes. He snorted when he saw Valerie and looked away.
"Oh come on Alfons, let me ride you," Valerie spoke to him as she gently tugged on the reins.
Alfons was the fastest horse the Dubois mansion has. He was a descendant of a superior race and he himself had won many equestrian competitions. Alfons finally lowered his head, as Valerie gave him a sharp glare.
