Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

"Yes, Freya. You do, since your birth. Alan is appointed to you by your mother for the past two years now." Father explained with a confirmed nod.

"Okay. Also, I wanted to ask something." I started to which he nodded and I continued, "Can I go around the town so I could know more about things."

"That would be a great idea, Freya. I see you are trying to remember things and settling around." He complimented me with a smile which I returned. I know I am stuck in here, so as well I may it easy for myself.

"Alan, take Freya around the town and also fill her with important some things," King ordered to Alan who agreed with a respectful nod. I stood up followed by the King as he walked out of the royal court and it was only me and my handsome guard. Alan looked at me with his intense hazel eyes and we just stared at each other for what felt like hours but in reality, just a few seconds.

"Princess, Freya. Please follow me," he said politely and turned around after I nodded my head in agreement. I followed him outside the palace, there were many soldiers around. We stopped walking when we reached the horse stable. There were many horses of different kinds and I started to admire the number of horses in the stable.

"Princess Freya." I turned around and saw Alan standing beside a beautiful white horse.

"Oh, my god. She is beautiful." I said as I looked at the beautiful horse in front of me in awe.

"Yes, she is. This is Nora, your horse." Alan said and I huge smile appeared on my face.

"She is mine?" I asked with an excited giggle escaping my mouth.

"Yes. You have had her since your 5th birthday and it was a gift from the King himself." Alan informed me with a slight smile on his face as he saw my excited face.

"I – I don't know how to ride a horse," I said and my smile was replaced with a frown on my face within seconds.

"Don't worry, Princess Freya I know what has happened. I will be the one guiding Nora." Alan said referring to the fact that I have lost my memory and don't remember anything.

"Thank you," I replied as walked towards Nora and him. I tried to sit on Nora but failed and looked at Alan as embarrassment crept on my face, he had a small smile on his face.

"May I help you?" he asked permission which I agreed with a nod. I understood why he took the permission as he knew if he was to help me, he might need to touch me. He walked towards me and helped me sit on Nora, his hands felt cold and made my heart start beating faster.

I sat comfortably on Nora as she neighs and Alan held on to her reins. It felt amazing to sit on a beautiful horse like Nora. She reminds me of my cat Nora from the 21st century, she might be homeless now or someone must have adopted her as she was so pretty.

I saw people looking at me and bowing their heads at me, first I was awkward but then started to smile at them which turned into a frown when I saw the surprised look on their faces after seeing my smile.  We crossed the market and Alan stopped Nora before turning and looking at me.

"Don't be concerned everyone knows that you, our princess Freya have lost her memory and also they have never seen you smile," Alan said with a faint smile and my eyes were wide hearing him. Freya never smiled in front of them, what kind of a person was she?

"That's odd, can you tell me more about how I was before all of this?" I asked as I wanted to know what kind of personality she had and how she behaved with everyone else.

"Ambitious, hard-working, focused, straight forward, strong-headed, short-tempered." He replied and I compared his explanation with the explanation Queen gave me and it matched. She was almost the opposite of me and the only personality traits that match are ambitious, hardworking, and focused, which I am.

Before I could say anything, a few little girls and boys came our way and turned towards Alan, okay they came towards his way giggling and calling his name.

"I am on duty, kids!" he said and everyone stood straight standing at attention like Alan.

I saw a girl looking at me from the corner of her eyes and I decided to talk with her. I jumped from Nora with the help of Alan and bent to the girl's height in front of her. Every other kid stood in the same position while I did so and no one moved. Why are they behaving like I was going to eat them?

She was looking like a 10-year-old with brown hair and big, beautiful brown eyes. She was wearing a cute gown, looking like a pretty doll.

"Hello" I greeted her with a smile on my face.

"Hi, Princess Freya." The girl replied with her sweet child-like voice.

"What is your name?" I asked her further as I felt every other kid was looking at us including Alan.

"Cecilia Reyes." She replied with a low tone and gulped nervously.

"Are you afraid of me, Cecilia?" I asked her as I felt bad to be the person who is making children fearful or sad, I just hate it because I love kids. She shook her head in 'no' but dint hold eye contact and I signed disappointedly as my smile slipped my face.

"You don't have to be. Your name is beautiful Cecilia and so are you." I said with a smile to which she looked at me and a blush crept over her puffy cheeks while she replied with a, "Thank you."

I got up and walked towards my horse, Nora. I was so disappointed that I don't even look at Alan but felt him looking at me while he helped me to sit on Nora again. I just gazed at the blue sky and the beautiful green grass around as we headed back towards the palace.

"May I say anything, princess Freya?" Alan asked me to which I replied with a short, 'Yes'

"I would suggest you be patient with everyone. People have a particular image of you in their head as we have seen you the person you were before. Now, it will a bit hard and will take time for everyone to process that you have lost your memory and are not the same person anymore. And about the kids, well you were very strict with them before, explaining and teaching them to be focused and disciplined, which was not a bad thing at all. Everything will be in its place after some time, you don't have to be sad or disappointed." Alan explained to me and I agreed to him after processing every word he said. He is right, it's hard for everyone including me and I need to be open-minded right now and don't have to be harsh on myself.

"Thank you, I needed that," I replied appreciating his effort to make me feel better.

Suddenly Alan shouted, "Alert!!!" and everything happened so fast. The soldiers that were behind me, fell on the ground from their horses after being hit by arrows. Alan took out his sword and started fighting the few men who came in front of us with swords and arrows that were attacked towards us. Everyone around me started fighting.

I saw a man pointing an aim towards me but I was unable to react as I was frozen because of the shock. And before I could react, I was hit by the arrow in my stomach.

"Princess Freya!"
