Oh my god!
He was barefoot with black pants on, his six packs abs were prominent and his muscular chest moved in rhythm as he breathed in and out.
His mouth was open just a little bit and sweat covered his body. his hair was messy and little wet because of the sweat and as soon as I look at him, I saw him looking back at me.
I lowered my eyes towards my feet, he saw me checking him out. Oh god, I was so embarrassed to look at him in his eyes but sensed him when he walked towards me and my father. He bowed at us and stood straight looking at father.
"Alan, you are going to train Freya from today itself, and I trust you to be careful while doing so," Father said with no expressions on his face as he looked at Alan dead in his eyes.
"You can trust me, King Walter. I will never repeat the mistake." Alan explained and I frowned thinking, it was not his fault that I was hit with a poisoned arrow.
"It's not your fault," I spoke without thinking that my father was still present. He looked at me and said, "It was his duty to protect you, at any cost. Even if it costs his life."
"What? No, he doesn't. I am responsible for whatever happens –." I was cut off by my father saying, "You are the princess of Cohill and soldiers are there to protect both our town as well as their hires, Freya."
I disagreed with him and was about to answer him but dint got the chance as Alan jumped in the conversation, maybe after sensing the start of an argument.
"I understand, King Walter." He said and bowed at him, without another word father walked away leaving us standing there.
"What are you going to teach me?" I asked Alan as I turned and looked at all the weapons around to distract myself from what father said.
"First of all, I appreciate the stand you took in front of King Walter. And to answer your question, I was thinking to train you about the basics today if you allow me," he said and I turned to look a smile on his face which made butterflies awake in my stomach.
"Okay, basics it is," I said with a shrug. I was in dreamland for a few seconds which felt like hours as I noticed him. Him standing in front of me with only black loose pants. The sunlight coming from the open wall behind him in this not-so-bright room makes him look the center of attention.
He was the most handsome person I have ever seen, his smile with dimples makes me smile, his black messy hairs make me want to run my hands into them, his hazel eyes capture my attention every time and demand to be looked at for however long I can.
I am surely attracted to him, but I have no idea what he thinks about me. Does he only see me as his King's daughter? Or Cohill's princess? Or as Freya? does he want to get to know me as I do? Or is he okay to not know me? I don't know.
The next few hours were him explaining to me about the weapons and what are they used for. Alan was giving me all the basic knowledge and I was trying to keep everything in my mind and understand everything properly. I am a fast learner and it was not so difficult for me.
Weapons like swords, bows and arrows, spears and lances, polearms, axes, and many more were introduced to me.
"From tomorrow we can start with a particular weapon," Alan said as we both walked out of the tent.
"Can we go for bows and arrows?" I asked him as I was most fascinated with it and swords too.
"As you wish, Princess Freya," he replied and we stopped in front of the tent. It was noon and the sun was brighter than ever. Alan now stood in front of me with a red color cloth which was wrapped around him loosely, before we started the session.
"When do you all meet your families?" I asked him out of curiosity as I saw a troop of soldiers training.
"We get to see them once in a while, whenever it's our turn to keep an eye on the town."
"What do you mean by whenever it's your turn?"
"So, now and then our duties are changed from protecting the palace to protecting the town. There is a set of soldiers who change their shift after a few particular numbers of days."
"But, isn't it different for you as you are my guard and you always have to be around me?" I asked him with a confused frown on my face and looked at him.
"Yes, it is. I meet my family when you, princess Freya decide to go on around the town." He told me.
"But you did not meet anyone this time when we went in the town," I said and immediately felt bad that he did not meet his family because he was too busy looking out for me.
"I did, the girl you spoke with is my sister." He said casually and I looked at him with surprised expressions on my face.
"What? Really?" I asked him as I would have not even have guessed if not been told so.
"Yes, she is." He confirmed with a nod and a smile on his face.
"Wow, I wouldn't have guessed if you wouldn't have told me. can I ask you something?" I asked him and he nodded his head telling me to go ahead.
"As you are my guard, do you have to go wherever I go?" I asked him raising an eyebrow at him.
"Yes, most probably. You, princess Freya, should go alone anywhere for safety reasons and it's an order from King Walter." He said firmly with a nod.
"So, what if I want to go for a walk in the palace's garden?" I asked him as I was missing my night walks and wanted to continue that to clear my mind every night.
"I will have to join you, princess Freya. And if you want alone time, I will keep my distance." He suggested and I thought of it, I want to go for a walk every night, and it's not going to harm me if Alan joins me.
"Okay, we can do that," I confirmed and shrugged at him as he nodded. We saw a soldier walking towards us from the palace and frowned as he breathed heavily.
"Princess Freya, King Walter has asked for your presence in the royal court. King of Amanda Land, Philip has sent a letter to us." He said and I froze. Philip is the man who had sent the man to kill me, two weeks ago. What would have been in the letter? What does he want?
