Chapter 20 - Bracelet Saves The Day

All the children were given nine healing talismans before being sent here. These healing talismans could heal pretty much all the minor injuries. But to heal a heavily injured person was not possible with this low-level talisman.

It is a pretty sad scene. I don't care about male children but to see a grievously hurt girl was still too much for my heart. So, I took out my remaining seven healing talismans and used them on the injured girl. It may not be able to heal the injury but it will help to gain some time. And time is all I need now.

Seeing me use all my healing talismans, the girls were pretty much filled with gratitude and closeness towards me.

"Now that her bleeding has stopped, let's take her to my place. There is a way to save her there."

I said to the girls, to which they agreed happily. Taking them to the bank of the lake, I told them to wait for a while. Then I found the biggest stone nearby and threw it into the lake, creating a disturbance.

The girls were curious. They could swim themselves but they also had to carry an injured person which was not possible for them and it was a very bad idea to soak an injured person in cold water.

Seeing the first stone didn't do its job, I threw another few at the same time.

Then a disturbance could be felt from the bottom of the lake and a giant 'Manta Ray' surfaced from the water. It was reddish-orange, and it looked awesome.

The girls were surprised to see a huge unknown creature coming out from the lake and they immediately took a defensive position. I was speechless seeing their antics. I simply let them be and kept the injured girl gently on the back of the Ray.

The girls were scared but I didn't mind them.

There is a life at risk here! I can't simply tell them the background story of the manta ray here. I have to save one of my teammates first! Then, I climbed on the back of the manta ray. After some hesitation, the girls followed suit.

The manta ray took us to the island pretty fast. I hurriedly carried the injured girl, jumped into the island, and ran towards the center. The other girls followed back.

After coming to my temporary home, I searched and took out a bracelet and put it on the injured girl's hand. The other girls were hurried and confused.

After a short while, the injured girls breathing became less stressful and she started healing fast. You could see her wounds closing with your naked eyes. After a few minutes, the girl fully recovered and drowsily opened her eyes. I smiled and went away with the bracelet leaving the girls alone.

They are children after all. They should get some reunion time alone.

After an hour, I went back. These girls were really sentimental. They were still hugging each other. Looking at them jealousy flashed in my eye so I could do nothing but disturb them.

After all, I have been on this island for three months and the best interaction I had with other children was of me beating them. As for the worst, I have been beaten and bruised quite a lot.

"Ahem!"

Hearing my otherworldly cough, they were startled. They picked up their weapon and stood in a defensive formation. I was speechless and learned new things.

First, never to utter any otherworldly word and these children seemed to have been trained in another way than mine.

After all, I was never trained to have such a good reaction. Somehow it seems, granny Ma only decided to train me in weapons. But still, it is fine for me. I don't want to be on guard every time. After all, where is the fun in that? Anyway, I think I should ask them how they were trained.

So, under the dusk, I heroically raised my hands and surrendered with a harmless smile.
