Chapter 21 - Quadruplets

Seeing that the sound was made by the boy who saved their sister, they let go of their guard. But, as soon as they lowered their weapon they saw the boy raise his hands. Again they became alert. But this time not to the extent to raise their weapons.

I went towards them and sat near them. Then, I looked at them speechlessly. Just a moment ago they were filled with gratitude and closeness and now that they were all saved, they started to be alert around me?

God! Where is justice?

I sighed and asked, "Hey, Why are you girls so alert?"

"Because master said so."

A girl answered and others nodded at her answer. Her answers were simple, precise, and... not understandable. I looked at them and sighed. These girls were far too obedient.

I again asked, "And, who is your master?"

"Sister Elsa."

'Oh, their master's name starts with an 'E'.'

Now that is surprising. After all, she may be related to me in some way. Well, now is not the time to care about that.

I looked at them and asked, "I want to build a team. Maybe we could work together for the remaining years? There is also a large possibility of getting tokens for each of us if we work together."

The girls were stunned by my rapid question and reasoning. They looked at each other and said to me.

"Master said that we should only make important decisions after thinking for a long time."

Now I am speechless.

'Why would their master give them some adult advice?'

It seems that their master didn't know how to raise children at all. At least my maids will feed me with some common sense and teach me like a child. But still, this may be related to the cruelty of the cultivation world. Here, children didn't have the right to choose and they should mature early to adapt to this world. Or maybe this kind of thing only happens in large clans?

Anyway, I could do nothing to change their mind so I let them be. Since they are like little sisters to me, I let them use my temporary home. As for me, I went to the outskirts of the island to sleep near the fruit seed I planted about two months ago.

This tree's fruit is kind of bizarre. I only found one of its kind on the entire island. And I only found the fruit. Well, the fruit tasted quite amazing. In every bite, there was a new flavor. Unfortunately, there was only one. But it had a seed inside so I unceremoniously brought it back to my small island and planted it.

For one month I didn't show any kind of growth. I had initially thought it will not grow but surprisingly a little sapling sprouted out yesterday. Now, I just have to wait until it fully grows up and I would have a sustainable food source.

Suddenly, I heard splashes and shouting sounds coming from a distant lake bank. I looked toward the sound direction and saw a faint orange hue. It seems that the manta ray is stopping the intruders.

Well, it has happened before. One can say, this manta ray is somewhat of a territorial beast. It would hunt anyone that comes in its territory. Well, except me. This manta ray has never attacked me till now. And someway it will help me sometimes as well. Like today, when it helped me to bring the girls here.

Also, it is not just the manta ray that doesn't attack me. There is also a silver snake and a green jade-like deer on this island that doesn't attack me. These three are kind of unique creatures on this island and they look absolutely beautiful.

The manta ray has a length of about six plus seven meters including a tail and breadth of about nine meters. Its wing length was about four meters in length and it has the color of dusk.

The silver snake is a little too big.

According to my super developed and talented brain, it should be more than twenty-five meters long and with about five meters of girth. It is nearly four times longer than the longest snake from Earth. Well, I think it should be called 'titan boa' instead of a snake. Similar to ray, it is territorial.

Meeting it was kind of a scary process. Three months ago, after I killed the tiger, I went on a battle frenzy with my momentous confidence, and somehow at the end of the day, I stumbled into its territory. There I saw silver-scaly-tube-like things and slashed them with no prior consideration and… nothing happened. There was not even a scratch.

Then I saw a massive snake head rise and it faced me. At that time I knew I was a goner. Cold sweats were flowing on my back. My body was covered in Goosebumps and I was frozen in shock. At that moment I cursed my brain umpteenth time. But then something amazing happened. It simply moved its body and opened a path for me.

I was confused and thought that the snake was harmless-type. But I had to change my mind the very next day. That day I saw the snake's temper. I saw a group of seventeen children being smashed by the snake. Well, the talisman saved them but they must have felt some inhuman pain.

Then I was scared to go near the snake. But eventually, I did.

Why? I don't know.

Then there is a deer. It is harmless, hornless, and beautiful. It is jade-green and had no pupils. Its eyes were all white. It is a super-leisurely kind of beast. If you don't touch it, it will do nothing. But, once you touch it, prepare to fly.

My encounter with this deer was also strange. That deer came to me on its own violation. Seeing the deer, I touched it out of instinct.

But who could blame me? It looked beautiful.

Then... again nothing happened.

Since I don't know why they are friendly, I simply praised my absolute physique.

As for the other animals they simply jump towards me as soon as they see me. So, I think those three must be demons.

So, somehow I became somewhat charismatic to demons?

Anyway, let's sleep for today.

...

The next day, I woke up early and started exercising. It is my established daily habit. After exercising, I jumped into the lake for a quick bath. Then I went towards the girls.

I am still thinking about some reasons to make them team up with me.

When I arrived at my temporary house, I saw four identical girls talking with each other.

'Sigh...'

I sighed and rubbed my eyes.

'Am I drunk? But how?'

I again looked at them.

'Sigh…!'

This time it was of pure amazement.

It must be because they were covered in the dirt yesterday that I missed such a unique feature of them.

These four girls were quadruplets.
