[Mortal Realm: at a forest]
The moon shone luminously for some unknown reason for tonight.
At a small clearing in a forest, a white light suddenly shone brightly.
Inside the light is a body of a teenage boy, as the light dissipates his whole body suddenly moved as if he's startled.
"What in the world?"
"Where I am?"
He crawled his way to the nearest tree to him then he leaned on it as if to take a rest.
He rubbed his eyes to check if this is true but when he pinched his cheeks and felt pain, he knew then that this was reality.
Just as he was about to get up from the ground he felt a sudden burst of pain in his brain.
His face contorted in pain as he clutch his head in an attempt to ease the head-splitting pain he was experiencing at the moment.
It lasted for about an hour and when it finally stopped he looks like as if he was dead.
He raised his hand and finally noticed that it was trembling. Whether it was from the agony he just experienced earlier or not it's something that only he knows.
He sat cross-legged and looked up to the tree, then finally he closed his eyes to meditate.
'Well looks like the heavens graced me with their mercy huh?'
Zhao Wei then smirk to himself as if to ridicule the situation he's in. He then began circulating internal energy throughout his body to check if there is any irregularities to it.
He was shocked when he check his dantian and noticed a scroll floating in it.
'This is ridiculous! How come the Heavenly Dividing Scroll is still with me?'
While he was still contemplating about this question the scroll disappeared from his dantian.
He then opened his eyes only to see that it was floating in front of him.
Just as he was about to reach out a hand to touch and open it. The Heavenly Dividing Scroll starts to emit a black aura.
If others were to see this they would be frightened to death but fortunately, Zhao Wei is the only one who saw this.
The creepy black aura then began circling him like a snake coiling and restricting it's target. Seeing this he did not panicked at all he just sat there cross-legged.
The black aura then moved towards him and entered his body. It then began spreading throughout his meridians then it began to flow within his veins and internal organs.
Of course he didn't just sit there and let this thing lead him by the nose. He began once again circulating Qi and noticed that this time the flowing energy is much smoother yet sinister and dark.
He didn't dare make a thought throughout the process because he feared that if he does and he got distracted, the consequences will be terrible.
When the black aura finally became one with his body and internal organs, he felt that his body is much more lighter and somehow a bit powerful.
The scroll spread itself open the moment he opened his eyes and ancient characters began floating from it.
The characters flashed one by one before his eyes. He engraved every characters in his heart and dare not to blink in case he misses something.
The last thing he want now is an incomplete manual because of his carelessness. It would be the biggest regret of his life if he messed up this once-in-a-lifetime chance.
When the last character disappeared before him, the scroll that was once floating before him is nowhere to be seen.
He looked around to check and finally breathe out a sigh of relief when he saw no trace of it.
As the surrounding trees around him rustle he swept his gaze towards the trees.
He then calmed down his self as he check out his body once again.
The thirst for battle began to surge on him as he recall once again what was in the scroll. He felt that even if he were a realm lower than his opponent it would pose no threat to him at all.
'No wonder the 4 emperors teamed up against the 5th.' he thought to himself.
A killing intent flashed out from his eyes when he also remembered his disciple.
He blamed himself for trusting so much to the point where he'll lower his guard in front of him.
"It's because of too much trust! Dammit!"
Even though he killed him, he wasn't satisfied at all.
Just like how the saying goes that betrayal leaves the most bitter aftertaste.
'But who cares? I can just once again ascent to the heaven and become an immortal.'
With that thought and consolation in mind he stood up.
"It's about time you show yourselves!"
When he shouted this he heard the tree leaves once again began rustling and in just a moment the once small clearing is filled with black figures.
Zhao Wei looked around him and estimated that the opponents ranged between 70-80 people. All of them are covered in black except their eyes.
They're all in the Peak Core Formation and right now he's just in Early Qi Condensation. So the odds of him winning is slim, if only he's an ordinary cultivator and cultivates a trashy technique that is.
"Allow me to express my gratitude for you guys being late."
"If you arrived a little bit earlier I would have been in trouble."
When the crowd of men clad in black heard this they couldn't but laugh and snicker at his words.
A man with a mask came out from the crowd and said in a cold voice.
"Boy regardless of whether your dead or alive you're definitely coming with us!"
He then unsheathed his longsword and the next moment the whole clearing was filled with the sound of blades and swords being unsheathed.
Moments before this every single one of these black figures saw a beam of light shoot out to the sky.
What is it if ain't a treasure?
The leader then made a decision to rally up his gang to explore the forest.
What they didn't expect is that the 'treasure' is a frail looking boy meditating right in front of them.
Zhao Wei then thanked the heavens for bringing him the dummies he need for his cultivation.
He was worried about advancing and now the nutrients he needed placed themselves at his door.
He won't refuse a blessing of course.
He only chuckled like a devil and said in a flat tone.
"You're wrong! Very. Very. Wrong!"
Peak core formation? Easy!
