"Dr. Tang, what did you want to see me about?"
She forced a smile, but it was a very ugly one. Too many things had happened recently—getting arrested, her grandson's severe illness, her husband's death. Anyone would be overwhelmed by such blows, and Mother Ren was no exception.
In the past, she was just a fashionable old lady, but now she seemed to have aged considerably, even her proud demeanor had diminished substantially.
Tang Yuxin organized the documents in her hands, then opened a drawer and put them away.
"You know about my brother donating bone marrow to your grandson, right?"
Mother Ren kept nodding; she knew, she was aware.
"Are you surprised?"
Tang Yuxin asked again, "Before, you tried everything, even resorted to kidnapping, but now someone is offering help voluntarily."
Mother Ren didn't speak, her face was a mixture of complexity and embarrassment.
