Now that I had arrived in this world, I had to make important decisions that would not only affect me, but also the inhabitants of this world.
I turned my gaze to the window. Where the sunlight had been replaced by a beautiful starry sky.
-Grrrrrrrr
My stomach growled in protest, as if watching the night reminded me that I had gone the whole day without eating. But it was quite strange how, despite being hungry, the irresistible instinct to satiate it was non-existent.
Apparently thanks to Ice Heart.
-Chiiiiiiiir ~
A sound echoed throughout the room, causing my attention to shift to the door, where a woman in a strange attire with black and white embroidery entered with a cart with what appeared to be plates of food.
Our eyes met for a second. Which was enough for her mouth to open wide and the plate in her hands to drop.
"WOW to think I'm so handsome as to leave her in that state with one look."
"Young Master!!!,- said the woman in total surprise - whaaaat happened to yoou!!!?
My completely stupid thought was cut off by the high-pitched scream of the woman in front of me.
It wasn't long before another group of ten people, who at some point had arrived, joined in the same shaken state.
Among them all I recognized a young girl who looked to be 15 years old, with dark blue hair and eye color that she shared with four other people, minus one woman whose hair and eyes were a deep turquoise like mine.
"What happened to your hair? Adad?"
Said the beautiful woman who looked like Adad, without coming out of her state of astonishment.
Even if you had never seen the appearance of the characters in the game, you would recognize the five people in front of me as family, or rather Adad's. (due to their strong resemblance, especially the hair), Adad's family, known as the Hall's were positioned at the highest rank a nobleman can reach, the Dukes.
I didn't know what to say, this moment had to come but it was too soon.
"I have just awakened an innate ability." I said, in a totally stupid way.
Everyone's face was filled with even more bewilderment.
"Son, what happened to you! Why is your hair that color and your skin cold?
Are you sick, do you feel sick, ANSWER ME!!!!."
The woman in front of me with the mad, desperate look, apparently was my mother Elena Hall, who appears briefly in conversation with the heroine, on a route with Adad as the hero.
"Elena, let Adad talk and calm down."
The man who took her and separated her from me was Keith Hall, the head of House Hall, Adad's father and one of the dukes of the kingdom of Aren.
Behind him was eldest daughter Tasha Hall and the one who would become the heroine's best friend, Emilia.
And to his right a girl and a boy, the youngest of the house Terry Hall and Everly Hall.
"I just remember getting up to see that my appearance had changed and when I checked my status window I had a rank A ability called Ice Heart." I said as I recovered from my stroke of stupidity.
"An innate ability..."
Keith replied with the words they all had in mind, but hesitated to say.
"Children, Elena, please leave the room."
He said with a stern face that cut off anything Elena was about to answer.
After everyone left, she turned to me, her beautiful facial features creased and her eyes became like those of the man I once called Father.
"Explain to me what your ability is all about."
I spent some time explaining how the ability worked and why my desk was full of basic world stuff. Of course, not to mention that my ability froze feelings, I don't think mentioning it is a good thing.
"Mmm, so it increases your affinity and control towards the ice element. Strange really, unique abilities are born to enhance the talent and completely adapt to the bearer and you're a lightning mage." Keith said, seemingly pondering the situation.
"Maybe it's because our family is lightning mages, I was never interested in fully enhancing my other elements."
I replied, remembering how little the Hall house was mentioned in the game. The doubts seemed to continue in Keith's mind, though I couldn't blame him, it was rare that in your entire life you didn't notice your talent towards a certain element.
But it was also true that, if a member was a user of the main element of the house and even more so if the skill was related to that element, the descendants would only focus on developing it, as was the case with Adad.
"Adad. I think you know this very well, but you must not mention to anyone that you awakened an innate ability, if someone with bad intentions finds out, even I wouldn't be able to save you."
I nodded as Keith headed for the exit, his face still full of doubt, he seemed to have realized that I didn't tell him everything, and I could only thank him for not asking about it.
The reason he told me to keep Ice Heart a secret was logical.
If the king or someone powerful found out, it wasn't hard to take away my freedom and force me to train to be the perfect tool.
