I hit the floor on my knees. I look behind me, but the person who carried me here has already closed the door. I touch the lines under my eye. I didn't know what they meant yet. I look around. There were other kids like me, and others as young as 2-4. "You must be the new kid!" I look in the direction of the voice and see somebody that looks like a caretaker. "I'm [ERROR] and welcome to [ERROR] I glared at the man. I wasn't supposed to be here, no matter the reason. "Why don't you look around? You'll like it here." 'Doubtful' I think, but look around anyways. The walls were bright blue ith clouds like the sky. The carpet was green, vibrant unlike the grass outside. Some of the kids were looking at me now. They looked somewhat happy but their eyes...they had nothing in them...I shuddered and looked back at where the man was. He had disappeared, leaving me alone to make friends with the kids. We stood there. The kids just waiting for me to say something or play with them. A girl with blonde hair walked up to me. "Hi! I'm Emma, but everybody else just calls me E.E kid. I don't remember why, exactly, but I don't care!" She smiles. I could tell the smile was fake by it slowly dieing yet still keeping it up. I could tell she was waiting for a response, so I smiled back and said, "I'm [REDACTED]. You can call me MC though." "Well hello MC!" She spoke kind of like a computer taking little stops in between each word. "Are you ok Emma..?" I asked, staring right into her eyes. "Yep!" I could see she wasn't though. Though she was obviously not fine, I decided not to pry. She might tell me when she actually feels comfortable around me. I looked back at the other kids. Still staring with their fake smiles. Most of the younger kids walked from the line they were in, held hands, and then they sang that ring around the rosies rhyme. As I was listening to the kids, I noticed that the lyrics were slightly off. Instead of 'We all fall down', they replaced down with dead. I shivered again. I knew there was more to this place. One of the older kids, maybe 15, looked timid. However, I was distracted from her as Emma gave me a drawing. There was a dark blue demon, and a lavender angel. Then, written above the two, were random letters. It made no sense. I complimented it anyway. Emma smiled and looked down. It looked at bit real this time. "Heh thanks." Even though we just met, I would admit that it was kind of cute. I didn't even notice my face slightly heat up as I start a little conversation with her, asking normal questions like her favorite color. She answered back and started asking questions similar. I answered as honestly as possible, avoiding questions to personal. Eventually, she asked, "Why are you in this orphanage/asylum thingie?" I froze. My lips a bit dry. Yes I did know it was an orphanage, but an asylum? "What do you mean by asylum? I asked hoping she meant something else. "You didn't know this was an asylum?" I shook my head. She frowned at me for what felt like the first time, "oh" I felt bad, and wanted to apologize, but she got up and left.
