"I'm coming, damn," she said yelling at the front door. "I wonder who could be at my house this early in the morning."
"Hey sexy," it was Darius' too sexy ass.
"Hey," she said hiding the excitement. "What happened you're here this early? It's almost four o'clock in the morning."
"You know, I have my Syd cravings," he said with a seductive half smile.
"Stop playing, for real. What's up?" she said with an exhausted look on her face.
"Well," he said moving her out of the doorway and closing it behind him, "I heard what happened with you and Mr. Wrong at the restaurant, and if it were me I wouldn't let you go without a fight."
"Okay. What about a decent respectable hour? Like nine or ten sir," she asked turning around with her arms folded.
"Look, ma'am, I'm here," he said not bothered by her slight attitude.
"Yeah at booty call hours. Anyway, I'm going to bed now because I may have a new case or something in the morning." She yawned and walked toward her bedroom.
"No you just want to get back in the bed. Don't make up things. Sydney... Syd? I've been with you too long," he said attempting to follow her.
"Okay, I'll show you to your sleeping quarters," she said detouring him to one of her guest bedrooms.
"I already know," he said heading to her bedroom ignoring her directional cues.
Continuing to lead him upstairs to the guest room, she said, "Goodnight, hon. Pleasant dreams," just as she walked back out of the guest bedroom.
Syd had always had feelings for Darius since about eighth grade. He had a crush on her throughout high school and she wasn't exactly interested in him; due to her being in a serious relationship. After senior year, her boyfriend Alex came out of the closet as being a gay man. This shattered her hope for her future of a happy family. Darius picked up the pieces and made her aware there is life after Alex... They had a fling that surpassed any sexual experience she'd ever encountered; it could have been because he was her first sexual encounter or how gentle he was. He had always had a friendly disposition that brought comfort and a sense of home to her sometimes coarse and temperamental character.
