Everyone in the room was silent until Light started to speak, "Gen. Don't you get tired of putting your life on the line?"
Gen then replied, "I try my best to avoid risks whenever possible."
"Oh yeah?"
"Yeah."
"So what was this that just happened?"
"Well ... there was no way I could have known Karin was going to use her wish to punch me."
"Are you sure you didn't? Because from what Dehji told me, you really pissed her off tonight with all the romantic stuff and locking her."
Upon hearing this, Gen turned to Dehji and began to communicate through his thoughts, 'You gave me away?! How can you, Dehji?! I expected more from you!'
And Dehji then replied, 'What did you want me to do? Just looking into her eyes sends a shiver down my spine, and this is while she's still locked up. I can't risk pissing her off.'
Light then said, "Are you two done talking?", and she then looked at Dehji, who then took a step back.
She then continued, "Good, let's continue. You said you avoid risks as much as you can, right? So what do you say about Dehji's challenge?"
"I had nothing to do. I had to take the risk to get through it."
"Nothing to do? Dehji made it clear that he could get you out of there. You chose to risk your life willingly and to make matters worse, you were going to leave me and Scar behind."
"Look Light, you-"
"I'm not done talking yet!"
"I'm sorry ..."
"What about the time you kissed Lina? Were you being careful, too?"
Upon hearing this, Gen turned to Eli and said, 'You turned me in too, Eli?! I'm surrounded by traitors!'
'Don't say that. You know I can't lie to her.'
Light then said, "Gen, I don't know if you know this, but from what Eli has been telling me about this girl, that kiss was by far the most life-threatening thing you have ever done. You're lucky Eli helped you. Otherwise, you might be in bed to this day."
Gen then remained silent, and Light continued, "For a person who tries his best to stay out of harm's way, you've been through a lot. I can't even imagine what would happen if you didn't avoid them."
"..."
"Do you know what your problem is, Gen? You're always wanting to help others. You went out to the ruins, saw the wagon of those merchants stranded, and decided to help them. What if they had bad intentions? I know you think you are strong because you have an essence, but you are not the only person in the world to have one."
Light then continued, "And today? You came to this town only to take a break before returning to Dekin, and here you are, at a party after helping the guild run an expedition. Gen, whenever you are asked, you say that your goal is to save your brother, but I don't see you giving it your all. Always stopping what you say is your priority so you can help others."
And Gen said, "That's not true, Light. I may indeed stop sometimes to help people, but that doesn't interfere with my goal. Today, if I hadn't stopped to help them on the expedition, can you imagine what would have happened? Even with me there, they almost lost. Luckily for us, Raja got to the level of influence and solved everything."
"Gen, I don't care what happens to others. My priority is your life, but even though I care so much about you, you don't seem to care about me."
"That's not true, Light."
"Well, it seems that way to me. Do you think I like being stuck here? I hate this place. You don't know what it feels like to be sealed up. It's like I've lost all my senses. The only thing I have left is my conscience and the hope that you're doing your best to get me out of here."
She then bowed her head, and it was possible to see some tears falling.
Seeing this, Gen swallowed hard and then said, "... Light, I-", but before he could finish, Gen was interrupted by Light, who was now red-eyed.
She then said, "Do you think I don't feel fear of being trapped forever in this castle, without seeing or feeling anything?! Just hearing from time to time how things are, without being able to experience them! And meanwhile, you go and get another spear, go to parties, enjoy your life."
Hearing this, Gen wanted to say something, but he couldn't get the reason out of her words, and she then continued, "Do you know why you are taking your time to solve your brother's problem?! It's because you know that as long as I'm stuck here, he'll be safe! You don't know how many times I've wanted to let him die so I could escape this suffering, but I've never had the courage because I know how important he is to you ... unlike me ..."
Light then bowed her head and began to cry and sob a lot.
Gen then started walking towards her and said to Eli, "Eli, let her go."
And Eli said, "Gen, you know what will happen if I let her go ..."
"... I know, but please buy me some time."
"... ah ... that's fine, but the most I can get for you is five minutes."
"That's fine."
Eli then released Light, and the moment the black lines released her, they went toward Eli and Dehji and started to tie them up.
Dehji was about to protest when suddenly Eli said, "Give them some time."
Dehji then looked at Light, who was now loose on the ground, and then said, "... Ok."
Upon being released, Light lifted her head and looked towards Gen, who was coming towards her. She then ran towards him, and when she got close enough, she punched him in the face.
Gen fell to the ground, and right after he fell, Light climbed on top of him and started punching him.
Gen did nothing to stop her, and then she started saying, "Do you think this changes anything?! Do you think a few minutes of freedom will make me happy?! That's nothing compared to the loneliness I experience every day!", and Gen remained silent as she spoke, and tears fell on his chest.
She then continued, "I've been locked up for three years! Three years without feeling anything! Just me and my conscience! And when I wake up after all this time, you're almost dead for meddling in other people's lives! Do you think it's fun to worry others, Gen?! What if you die?! What will happen to me, to Eli, to Dehji?! Do you think your brother will be happy after you die trying to save him?!"
Gen continued getting punched without saying anything, and then Light put her left hand on his neck, prepared a punch, and then said, "Say something!"
She had her punch ready, waiting for what Gen was going to say.
Gen's face was covered with cuts and bruises. He turned his face away and spat out some of the blood that was in his mouth. He then turned his face to her and said, while looking into her eyes, "You're right .... I'm sorry ..."
Hearing this, she screamed and punched him, but the punch hit the ground on the side of his head. She then looked up and screamed until there was no more air in her lungs, and then fell headfirst onto Gen's chest. He then put his hand on her head and began to caress her.
She then began to say, as she cried, "You don't know how lonely I felt."
And Gen then replied, "I'm sorry."
"You don't know how every minute I kept hoping I would see you, telling me that you had solved everything and that I wouldn't have to be trapped anymore."
"I'm sorry."
She then rubbed her face against his chest, drying her tears, and then said, "You don't know how much ... I've missed you."
"... I'm."
"Enough with the excuses, is that all you can say? Hahaha."
"That's true, hahaha ... but Light, I know it's easy for me to say this now, but even though I don't show it, I also missed you a lot. After all, when I sealed my memories, the one thing I didn't want to forget was you because I knew that if there was one thing that would move me to achieve my goals, it was to get you back."
Light then closed her eyes and said, "I know."
Gen then said, "If you knew, why did you hit me this hard."
"Oh, stop. I just wanted to blow off some steam, and besides, I only hit you a little bit."
"A little bit? From the way I look, maybe even my mom won't recognize me."
"Hahaha."
"Hey, what are you laughing at."
"Shut up, you idiot."
"Yes, ma'am.", Gen said with a smile on his face.
