Chapter 32 - Back On Business

There he was, lying unconscious on the floor, the furious looking chef. He must've heard the riot which was going on in the room and got stabbed right after he entered to inquire. Kett went to him and checked his breath. He wasn't breathing. "Oh girl! Did you just killed another innocent human?" She asked herself. But soon she noticed something on his neck, which brought herself back to the same old confusion. On his neck was the same symbol which she saw in the Cottage Of Barnia. She gasped, this time not in surprise but in exhaustion. She was exhausted by all these weird symbols and incidents.

She was expected to drown in her own thoughts, but else she got distracted by a loud cough from behind her. She turned to see Sage, coughing out blood horribly. She had completely forgotten about him. She went to him and helped him sit up. She looked into his eyes which were shining with tears. "I'm sorry, Kett. But what happened?" He spoke through the loud coughs. "Leave it for now. I'll deal with you later on. Let's just do something about this cough. I will go and fetch somebody." Kett said, standing up. "No" Sage clinged on to her arm. "Are you crazy? What are you gonna tell them? What the hell even happened in here? And what about this dead body? who's gonna take it's responsibility?" "Ugh! What should I do then?" "Just go and bring some tissues and a towel or two. We will go to the washroom and clean the blood off ourselves. Then we'll wash this room and do something to the dead body as well." Kett agreed as she didn't see a better option and ran towards the door. "Oh wait!" Sage yelled. "Now what?" Kett asked, rather annoyed. "Are you gonna run around the place covered in blood like that? Also how did you get so much blood on your clothes? Is that my blood?" He asked. "Honestly sage? You just stabbed me and now you're asking me where I got the blood from?" "I did that?" He asked, both shocked and surprised. "Yeah?" He looked away as memories started to flow into his mind. Flashes of lights and yells were echoing inside his head. He grabbed his head and screamed as a terrible pain started to arise in it. Kett shook him up and he came back to his senses. He was panting for a couple of minutes before saying, "Ah! That must be a terrible wound. I bet you are in the need of a doctor." "No. I'm fine." She wondered around in the room and found some old rags. She wrapped one of them around herself and piled the rest of them in a corner and helped Sage onto it. "Here, you can have some rest. I'll be back soon." She told him as she put another old rag on him.

With that, she rushed out of the room into the corridors. She knocked off half the things on her way in her hurry. She sneaked into the room where all the towels and clothes are kept and grabbed two towels, a box of tissues and two new gowns for them to change into. She folded all of it up and packed them in an old grocery bag she found in the room. She carefully hid it under the rag as she left the room. As she was walking by the cafeteria, her stomache grumbled. That's when she noticed she hadn't eaten anything in a long while. Nor had Sage. She went straight into the cafeteria as the owner was nowhere to be seen. She was stealing some of the hot buns, bacon and a bottle of ginger beer as she felt someone's gaze over her shoulder. She slowly turned her head to look straight into the furious eyes of the cafeteria owner. "What do you think you're doing in my cafeteria, you little miss?" He grumbled.
