A sudden downpour had started, it was raining heavily and the dead remains of the humans and monsters who had fallen upon the battlefield were now getting indulged in mud and rain.
While Hein was sitting under the tree watching the corpses and other people for shelter from the rain. The veterans just stood in the rain in front of the open gates of the dungeon taking deep breath and relaxing, meanwhile the backup arrived from Nurviell a town nearby, a squad of knights with some Arc mages arrived at the battlefield on tamed wyverns. By hearing the talk of a nearby adventurer group Hein learnt that apparently the group from Nurviell were pretty famous and were in talk for a while.
Hein relaxing enough, stood up after while and moved towards the dungeon with the crowd who stayed. The knights with some veterans stood in front of the the giant gates waiting for everyone to gather.
After the gathering and talking to each other. The knights started a speech warning-
" Welcome,
we are the Bashon Knights from Nurviell and
as you may know were are currently in a state of emergency as a giant S ranked dungeon was identified a few days ago a you were dispatched to investigate it, but suddenly enemies arrived scattering our forces apart by incredible power but by some mysterious reason they were destroyed saving your lives.
We are thankful for your work, as we were able to gain much more information, we have got a lot of losses and are implementing funds from government to fix it up.
Each one of you are free to move home and abandon the quest considering the difficulty and will be given 2 gold coins each and families of dead will be awarded with 4 gold coins.
Thank you "
With this many of the adventurers left with their groups, many of them wounded and on the brink of death. A few groups were left with mostly veterans in them. Hein moved towards his party checking if they are dead or alive. Walter was with other veterans where as the two guys were talking with another group the brawler seemed to be exhausted and wounded, but was standing talking. Hein regrouped with his party where they decided to move in not to deep but enough to grant them with some decent loot.
The knights were in front with light magic and search magic checking for traps and hostiles with everybody behind staying alert for danger. Hein was observing the dungeon he felt obnoxious and the architecture of the place felt similar to him in a weird way as he was never before into any of these kinds of dungeons. The entrance was grand and had torches on the sides lit with red flames which gave a terrifying mood to the place.
The place was well marbled and furnished with stone gargoyles at the sides. It was though stinking of undead. Which felt uneasy, with magic circle activation noises and mechanical chirping it felt unsettling and not secure. There were two pits in the front which seemed to serve as a purpose for keeping the sentinels on standby, the place was ingraved with a activation spells which were activated.
Moving further there were doors on either side of the walls with the path going straight in front. The knights considering it to be barracks of enemies scanned both doors with ' life scan spell ', which was new to Hein. The right door showed a pleuro arachnid monster with its summons and the left showed humans tied down as hostages kidnapped from different villages with orcs ready to ambush whoever entered.
The knights discussed over it and came up with a plan. One of the Arc mage stood in front of the left door placing a trap teleportation spell which was targeted inside the right door with this two mages stood still enchanting explosive spells and knights waited beside. After a moment, a quick blast occurred on the left door which triggered the orcs pushing out attacking the knight but got teleported to the right room with which the second blast broke the right door exposing the confused monsters, with which the knights stormed the monsters with hevy attacks slaying them saving the hostages. The kidnapped people were in fatal condition and were almost about to die, where two knights escorted them to safety on their wyverns.
Hein was impressed by the plan, strategy and tactics of the knights to execute such plan and saving people. Clearing up the place leaving other adventurers with no work other than to follow knights showed their power and supremacy, with which moving forward in the dungeon they were approached by some stairs leading into the dark down somewhere. Blasting away flashes nothing seemed to faze the knights walking straight downstairs moving forward there was a problem, which was their communication magic which was being used till now to send information to the capital and Nurviell. Knights decided it was jamming spells which were enabled and knew that the enemies were playing cleverly now.
Everyone was in a same thought being clever and knowing their power limit, not as Hein knew from his past life gaming and movie experience that everyone risking their lives moved forward it was not like that everyone had a thought of moving behind retreating for the time being. Everyone turned behind to climb stairs in order to move out, they were scared with their lives out of their body as they saw nothing, nothing in their view other than a plan wall the stairs had vanished seeming the dungeon is alive it shifted it's paths. Soon they noticed half of their adventurer group were left behind the wall above saving their lives.
Strong men were left behind and no way out the group decided to move ahead, after a few minutes of walk they were stopped by a empty hallway which had strong anti magic which prevented from using light magic to light the hallway up.
Hein looking up the Hallway at the chandelier with skulls instead of crystals suddenly came rushing a bolt of negative lightning which popped two heads and broke apart hein's arm, hiding his arm under his coat Hein looked at front but nothing was clear with more lightnings ready to pop some more heads.
