The only way we can make this easier is to give Nelia to the Stabilizer. But I hate the idea of it. Just the thought of it sends heat into my stomach. The long and painful ritual. The flaw it has is big. Erasing someone's memory even for good is evil and wrong in my eyes.
But this method would be easier.
Do I want that?
Nelia scratches her dark head, looking at me for answers. She's only still a teenager. I couldn't bring myself to choose the easier path.
Another way we can deal with this, is to get her out of here. But knowing Nelia, she wouldn't budge if she didn't get anything she wanted. In her own words, she's really hard head. Even Remelia's blood orb can only tender them to sleep for a while.
To make this work, I have to ask her what she wants. Which wouldn't be easy. That's not even a guess,
"Nelia, what brought you here?" I begin.
Remelia puffs out her frustration, "Oh boy, so this is the way you want to take."
My forehead winces.
Despite the hostility the room gives to her, Nelia is gently swaying left and right as she looks at me with a smile.
She's not listening. This is how she usually behaves in class. "Nelia." I call her.
"Hm? What's that Sensei?"
"I repeat my question, what brought you here?"
Nelia puts her finger on her lip, "Hurm, that's really not much of a question, Sensei. You know why I'm here."
"I don't."
"Oh! Shall I give you a hint?"
"You--"
"Wait, Sensei! Please! Can I give you a hint? This will be very smooth. A very good one."
"But--"
"I promise!"
All right, this isn't going anywhere if I don't play her game. I sigh. "Go on, what's the hint?"
"Do you want the long but small hint? Or just a short but big one?"
Why is that a question? "The last one."
"He he he…"
"What."
"You ready for the hint, Sensei?"
She's really dragging this on, huh?
Seeing me running out of patience, Nelia panicked and quickly revealed her hint. "It's U. It's U, Sensei."
"U?"
Nelia nods, "As in after the T."
…
"This is so dumb," Remelia whispers.
U = You.
"What brought me here. It's U." Nelia spreads her arms with a Ta-da climax. "How is it?"
Completely ignoring the non-important stuff, I ask. "So you want to see me?"
Nelia nods five times, "I do! It's just that obvious right?"
Yeah. It's obvious. "But for what?"
"Ah…. I can't remember but I have the feeling I have something to tell you." Nelia gasps as she looks back and forth between me and Remelia, "Now that I'm trying to remember, I think I caught you two--"
We gulp.
"--You two… having… doing? Urm, I don't know but it feels important. Did I interrupt you two?"
We exchange a look and nod at each other.
Remelia answers, "As a matter of fact, yes. You did."
Nelia looks at me for confirmation and I also nod.
Yup. We were about to kill each other when you barged in.
"I'm really sorry." Nelia bows slightly, "It was my bad to interrupt the business you were having." Her eyes glance up at me, "Just business thing right? I must've imagined something else."
I sigh.
"Now you know, Nelia. We have an important thing to discuss."
"Can't you just include me?"
I shake my head, "Occult Club business. Now I have to kick you out of the room if you don't have any important thing to actually say."
"I--"
"Reasonable reason."
"Ah…. " Nelia rolls her eyes up, recalling her reasons. I almost give on her but she exclaims and hammers her fist on her palm, "that's it!"
She actually has a reason to see me?
"I want to complain about this girl to you!"
…
"And also I've checked the other three clubs while you were gone. None of them want me." She pulls out her lips as she looks around the room, "Only this one left."
'What does she mean, human? Why is she looking at my palace as if it was her already?'
It's a long story but basically I've told her I'd consider letting her join this club if she tried to join other clubs first. She did.
'What? Who gives you permission to make the decision alone! And that's not even a good idea for both of us!'
I was only trying to cheer her up.
'By lying?'
It's a white lie all right.
'Anyhow, I don't want her. She gives me a dumb aura. I don't want her as my servant even. She doesn't even see me as a higher being than her.'
Hey, don't say something about someone you never met before.
'That's the thing. I think we've met before.'
What?
