The clubroom looks normal than ever. As if nothing had happened. As if this was yesterday. But I have to face that today is today. There's no such thing as rewinding a time. I have to deal with it.
The vampire.
Is a threat.
The thing I didn't realise yesterday but now.
I walk closer to the store room.
The cross is still hanging around the knob untouched. If the vampire has broken from this seal, the cross (as any other artifact) will fall on the ground and burn hot. But it's still cold.
Does that mean the vampire is still there? She doesn't use Steve to even pull out the cross. Oh… If she is still there then it's good. Good for this world. But not yet. I still have to end her, and end the everyday skit I have with her. Before things really could get ugly.
Why didn't I do this sooner then?
Like I mentioned. I tried the first day I saw her. I instinctively tried to exorcize her that time. But I wasn't really trying. Because she looks harmless with her appearance like that.
And also, I couldn't really too. A silent voice grabs me from harming her. As the prophecy is said.
But I don't think a mere prophesy could hold me now. Because this time I will really try.
Even if I have to break my own oath.
I take a deep breath as my hand holds the knob.
I told myself… this is the right thing to do. This is the right thing to do. This is the right thing to do.
I'm the only one who can do this.
I open the door.
As soon as that happened, the voice of a excited, happy, and victorious tone rang into my ear. "You're back!"
The vampire says.
Her little white feet are swaying and hitting the red sofa. And her small body is facing toward me. Her red eyes are brighter than usual. Her cherry lips move, peeking out her fang as she says, "Great! I have many things to tell you. It feels like forever to wait. I hate waiting. And you made me wait. You better prepare yourself for a cruel punishment. But be assured, the one who will give you a sentence is none other than me. Be grateful."
Yet again another nonsense. I would sigh and shake my head in a helpless way. But I keep my stare fixed on her.
I didn't say anything.
The vampire throws herself up and hops on her feet. She walks toward me as she tilts her head, 'Hm? You sounded awfully quiet today. And… what happened to your helpless shake of the head and sigh? You give me that every time you see me. Hm, not that I like that kind of treatment anyway. But this is a lot more worse."
I cut to the chase, "I know you did something." I say.
The vampire eyes perk up and she raises her chin, "Oh. Yes. I did indeed. That's what I'm trying to tell you. I did something! And it's really great. A step closer to our story of world dominance. You would also be excited as me after you hear this."
"Is that so?" I say.
I let her continue her story.
The vampire crosses her pale white arms, "Why don't you take a seat. I feel uncomfortable when you stand higher than me when I'm the one who's going to tell a story of what I, alone, did for our better future. Sit."
I ignore her.
The vampire pouts. "Okay, don't sit then. You'll sit down later after I tell you this amazing story of what happened. You'll feel guilty for making me the only one working. Okay… let's start with…"
And she laughed, "Ah yes. You see, I was taking a nap when I heard footsteps coming closer. I knew it wasn't you, it's far too aggressive. And to make it better, this box-headed man just walked into the room, thinking it's unlocked when I was the one who left it like that. Before I met him, I thought about making him food but then I changed my mind. He's lucky. Instead of being my food which is already a good offer, I decide to use him as a messenger."
My hands stretch on their own.
Obviously, the vampire is speaking about Steve.
The vampire looks closer at me, "Really, Human? No praise and worship for me. Well, wait till you hear how I did this."
The vampire raises her toes and her face is closer to me. I don't know why she thinks that in this position she can tell her story better. But I already knew the big chunk of the story before I came in here.
Remelia says, her saliva sprinkles on my cheek and chin. "I was smart you know. I could totally use someone like him when I smelled him. He smells loud and egoistical, the person people have to hear him! So I charmed him. I whisper to him, that I promise him the woman that he loves…"
The vampire lowers herself, "Mwaghahaah, he's more than willing to bow down and follow my order. Just like that."
"So it was you." I say.
Remelia nods her head, "Yes of course it was me. If even you already have heard of him, that's my choice of men doing a good job. Do you want to know what I ordered him to say? You're going to fall on your knees after hearing this."
I nod my head. That's just my curiosity. Or hope. Maybe this vampire doesn't do anything that bad than charm another human being. I'm thinking of being pacifist about this.
Deep in my heart, I don't want to kill Remelia. I think I could convince her to sleep back. Or discarded her will of ruining the world.
Remelia spreads her arms. Her little chest is facing up. "I've told him to call all of my sisters to this location! Black Book High, Occult Clubroom. And that, our time has come. For the vampires to raise again and claim what should have been ours long time ago."
…
And this doesn't sound good.
She's gathering her army now.
And all my hope is lost.
I have to end this vampire now.
I take a step forward. Remelia backs away shocked.
And I say, 'I don't think things are going to be that way, Vampire Princess. I'm done."
I'm done.
