There are always disagreements between two people. It may be due to differences in their ideologies and beliefs, or the way one approaches a given situation. From the level of an employer and an employee to that of two closest of friends, there will always be disagreements in some regards. And this was, even more, the case, when it's of two people, each from the opposite gender of the other.
Right now, that's the case here. We concluded the chat yesterday, and yet, we are still bitter about how things ended. That's why we were supposed to talk it out today. But, to be honest, for one, I ain't thrilled with the idea of meeting a bombshell like her out in the open, on a weekend, especially, and second, I'm a little skeptical about some stuff, and unless I'm not a 100 percent certain about it, I'm keener on remaining put.
That being said, I'm not so hopeful about hanging out alone with a girl. Liking a girl and talking to them is one thing. While going out with one, in public, in broad daylight, on a Saturday afternoon, which would surely pull the attention of the crowds for all the wrong reasons, it's surely a toll I must consider. Also, take in the bonus of my ever preceding reputation, and this is a recipe for disaster.
And yada...yada...yada!!! Gosh! Why am I worrying so much?! Argh! It's only 11 AM. The gym must be open at college. It's better to head out there and work out a little to keep myself busy. With that conclusion, I did arrive at the college gym. But sadly, it was under maintenance.
Not surprised by this fact, I just sighed and made my way towards the swimming club. Now, why is it that I'm here? Interesting question, but no answer. Every question does not require the idea of an answer. It just needs a sudden urge.
"So, you came?"
"Yeah."
"What is it that you want?"
"Why did you just snitch on me by hooking up with him?"
You know what kind of woman I am, right?"
"Nope. Never heard about you, nor am I curious to know you. It's just another unwanted character. People can call this part lazy writing, or just that this guy is edgy, but I'll take it however it's been given."
"Well, I can't force myself onto you. After all, you're the one man that I've had my sights on who's never dared to make a move on me, apart from the fact that you are also the only person in my entire life on this planet that has rejected me."
"Spare me this hassle and cut to the chase. Why is it that you're suddenly meddling with me?"
"I could ask the same. What's with you and the princess?"
"Nothing."
"You didn't even stutter."
"I would only if I had any reason to in the first place."
"So, there's nothing between you both?"
"Nope."
"What a shame. And here, I was expecting something spicy."
"If there's nothing else, I'll get going." Else, I'll be caught up with having to do a character introduction, and tell some story about her. I'm beyond that.
"There's just one thing, maybe two."
"Out with it. I have some matters to attend."
"First thing's first. What's with the bracelet?"
"Well, long story short, I just beat up some old hag and just took it as a souvenir."
"Is that even alright to mention that out in the open?!"
"Don't worry, if things are to turn south, you're my partner-in-crime. Consider this as payback for the mess you caused today."
"Oh, no! Not happening. I don't want to get involved with you on any accounts."
"And?"
"Huh?"
"The second question?"
"How is that you can ask in that lifeless and bland way so effortlessly?"
"Trade secret."
"Ahhh! You're giving me a headache."
"Alright, spit it out, and we both can end this charade."
"Does Marcus have any history with javelin throw?"
"Javelin throw? Why ask of that?"
"I happened to see a photo of him, and his family, in their study room, with a javelin kind of object on the wall. It was a unique one, I must say."
"Hmm...Javelin, eh? Nothing that I can think of."
"Alright then, off you go."
"Ok. Don't pull a cramp."
"I don't need to hear that from the likes of you."
With that, my short but efficient meeting ended. Who was she, you may ask? Maybe, if I have to meet her again, due to tragic circumstances, then I shall formally introduce her.
There were some familiar faces along the way, namely a certain Marcus keeping an eye out on me the whole while I was having this conversation, and the last one of the 3 infamous personalities in this college.
"I don't think this is a place that you belong to, Axel!"
"Likewise, Blake. What brings you here? Isn't a day off the equivalent of an extravagant vacation for you?"
"I see that you still hold yourself high, and mighty."
"Haha! Just because I don't show any respect to you, it doesn't mean that I'm high and mighty."
Blake, the last of the trio of superstars in this college. Taking the concept of cards into play, if Emily is the queen, Marcus's the king, then Blake is the Jack of the top trio of cards in the pack. And meanwhile, due to unforeseeable reasons, I'm the joker. Blake here is the one person closest to Emily, which in laymen's terms puts him on the equivalent terms of a childhood friend. This also means that he's public enemy number 1, to me. Reason for that?
He's an egoistic person, and I happen to hurt his ego. How? Why? And other inquiries can wait.
He held my collar to gather the attention of the few personnel at the track, not that it concerned me by any means. I just pushed his hand away, indicating that I don't have anything to do with him.
"Stop."
"What is it?"
"I want to talk to you."
