The animosity that these both shared at this very moment was pretty bad. I know I'm lacking a lot of details. When I say a lot, I mean a fuck lot! But that doesn't matter to them, anyway since the spotlight is shining on them. I'm just a side character, at best and a stage prop, at worst. This battle right now doesn't concern me. Rest easy there, Axel-2.
I could see a barrage of magic spells being cast and struck between them. If I were to predict the outcome, as it were, Emily would have gotten beaten up pretty badly, and I should probably be on my way to the world beyond this, after attending my own funeral, in spirit, and acknowledge the eulogy, if any, in honor of me. Though, the fact that would happen was remotely impossible. Plus, the fact that me and Emily, the both of us from the future, are just a testament to the fact that what I believe and what I see in front of my eyes isn't what's gonna happen. I had a twitching sensation.
Suddenly, the lunatic vampire cast a special spell. How did I know that? Unlike the previous ones, which were just let go in a flash, this one had shaken up the entire core around this area. The ground started to vibrate, there were red flashes of lightning, and more importantly, it seemed like she had unleashed her true power, and this could be seen when one looked at her eyes. I think this was the most distinctive way for them to be identified, more than their fang-like teeth or the immense bloodlust that they possessed. But the, what about Emily? I remember seeing even her unleash her eye in the past, which is the future from now, but there was no trace of it. I was slightly confused.
"Why won't you come at me princess? Oh my, how could I forget? You haven't manifested it right? Poor thing. See, that's the difference between you and us? The reason why or ideals differ, why we can't along with each other, it's simple and can all be brought down to one root cause. And that is you. It's precisely because it's you. You shall never be one of us, even then, even now, and forever! So give up!"
Bitter, harsh, and yet resounding words. I could see the despair in Emily's eyes. Both of them, in fact. Ms. Lunatic here was starting to murmur something to herself. Man, it's too tiring, to refer to her with something new every single time. It's high time that I enquire about her once I get her back. No, this was not for any personal reasons but this was just to make sure I know her name so that I don't have to try some kind of reference that makes me act cool. Honestly, though, I'm not any writer, nor do I know of any, who could just give her a name.
"Not happening! I haven't then, and I will certainly not back down now. I know you people don't accept me but...but..." She desperately gasped for breath. Putting a hand on her chest, she looked at her opponent right in the eye; "That doesn't mean I will back down from my destiny. If you like me, then help me. If you hate me, then just stand in my way. I'll crush you, and everyone with you."
Now, now , I don't think that's the right way one must resolve a situation as feisty as this one. Meanwhile, while this banter was carried out, on the other hand, it seemed like the A-list actress has charged up enough. "You talk a lot, especially the stuff of high aspiration, stuff you didn't even involve yourself with...but that's fine, I'll do what a responsible adult must do. I shall silence you for good."
ASHES OF HELLFIRE!
The ground which was vibrating at a fast pace, now moved at a pace that nothing could stay still, before coming to a halt all of a sudden. And then, from the sky, emerged a rain of fire, befitting the name of the spell. Normally, she could have dodged it with minor burns, but because I was there, passed out, she forced herself to save me, and in doing so, left herself vulnerable and took a lot of damage.
Forgive me for sounding so plain and dry. I know that there are a lot of people out there who would trade their arms and whatnot, just to be in such a situation, and sink into this extravagant moment, and describe it as something that is befitting of its nature. But for me, as someone who was grounded into reality, this was a whole new thing, so I can't do any better than this. Anyway...
A lot of dust emerged from that sudden attack. By the time the dust had settled in, I saw a sight that I never thought I would see. Ms. Emily was badly bruised all over the place and even suffered from bleeding and severe cuts. Her life functions were at a critical state. And yet, she desperately tried to get back to her feet,
"Stand down! Don't push yourself than you already need to. You got my respect. I'll give you that. It's time to end this though!" She pulled out a dagger from a hollow space, out of thin air."
"I won't...I certainly won't...", she dragged her body close to mine.
"At the end, you still choose to save him? What a pity..."
She stood up, on her feet, barely. Her legs were shaking pretty badly. She was on the verge of death. Suddenly, I noticed something that left me dumbfounded. I had raised my hand and caught her leg. She seemed to be bewildered by this sudden change of events.
"Don't worry, I'll protect you so..."
"...te"
"What?"
"Bi...te...BITE! ME!"
She was confused. She didn't know what to do, and before she could say anything, I collapsed. I don't remember any of that. She looked at her and noticed that there was horror written all over her face.
"No! Don't! Don't you dare!"
She went down on her knees, put me on her thigh. The lady started to charge in at a fast pace. Using her elemental magic, or whatever it was, she was temporarily able to trap her in a time vortex. I could see tears in her eyes. For someone who didn't want to devour any humans, and save them, to suddenly face the proposition of death, and then, having to resort on that very same human flesh, it must hurt her.
Though she had a pretty good spell, the barrier quickly broke. But that was too late for the opposite party. "I'm sorry!". She then moved the collar of my shirt away from my neck, and bit me hard! I could suddenly feel the sharp sensation here.
NO!
And then, we were back in my room, and she slowly pulled herself away from me. She just sat there. It was a lot for me to process but from what I knew, we were more involved with each other than I had assumed. She then got up, signaling that she was ready to leave.
"So, that's how it is."
I just replied with a silent nod. She received it and replied with a nod of her own. She was at the exit of the door before she turned back.
"From now on, things will only get tough, so I'll be honest. I need your help."
I just thought silently for a while...
"It seems I am indebted to you. I can't say anything canny of the sort like I'll do my best but..."
I'LL CERTAINLY NOT BE A BURDEN TO YOU.
