"No," Xavier scoffed. He even rolled his eyes as he stared at the ceiling.
He threw his head back, pinching the bridge of his nose before looking back at Zera.
"Much as I wanted to have a free pass by being her minion, that's not how I'd like to win that prize."
Zera held Xavier's gaze. She was silently considering his response, trying to find where the lie was.
Unfortunately, she couldn't find any.
Wanting to get her hands busy, Zera cleared her throat and pointed at the mugs that had already been stirred.
"I'll take those,"
Xavier gestured for her to go on. Without waiting for anything more, Zera grabbed as much as her hands could handle.
She was having mixed emotions and right now, she couldn't decide which emotion to address first.
Handing out the chocolate drink, Zera put on a smile. Xavier's statement lingered in her mind.
