White lies.
Zera was never a fan of them, but what she just promised Astherielle was a lie.
'Partly.' Zera thought. She wasn't entirely lying, but if worse comes to worst, she would be willing to fall into the black hole alone than bring along her friend.
Grunting, Zera held on as tightly as she could while Astherielle slowly heaved herself up. She was going to climb past Zera to get to a safer zone.
Zera was dangling dangerously close to the black hole. It wasn't safe for anyone to be with her at the moment.
The wind seemed to have blown even more strongly. Zera blinked once and then twice.
"What the hell happened?" Jaspreth asked. He had to raise his voice to be heard. Zera squinted and tried to make a face.
"The Priestess happened."
Jaspreth narrowed his gaze. Zera blew out a sigh.
"We kind of sent her on a rampage." Beatrix clarified. She sighed even louder than Zera. The latter didn't even have time to feel guilty.
