He didn't want to assume the worse. Ruined traces of bob wires surround the area. And beyond the destroyed fence were what was left of the city.
"I believe this is what remains of a war would look like," Nayowmi murmured while their team had their guns out, each walking and keeping themselves for any movement in the perimeter.
They were no longer protected by the trees and needed to tread carefully.
"I hope a war never breaks out somewhere near the future." Beatrix mused.
"Seconded," Zera added. They silently entered the ruined city; goosebumps crawled on her skin.
She weighed out what had her suddenly anxious.
