Chapter 14 - Rest only for Lazy People

I smiled faintly at the offer, but I didn't agree to it. It's just a thank you, I think. And this is called business.

My robe pockets moved, I knew Tanka must be awake by now. This conversation is more interesting.

"Give me half of your shares." I smile. My smile was met with a sour face from Verion. The new expression I saw on his face.

"Father, that's too much." Verion whispered in his father's right ear, but his father raised his hand to stop all his words.

"Okay. If you can bring my son."

I glanced at Verion.

"Verion can't fight. Actually, compared to divine power, Verion is a weak mage," he explained with a wistful smile.

"You want me to protect him forever?"

"That is too impudent, Akion," "I'm just asking you to train him, and protect him for a while to stay in his position."

Not bad negotiations.

"Okay. Even though I own half of your shares, no one else should know about it, and you only need to report it to me. It's up to you to take care of it."

This is a win and win solution. Where can I have stocks without working and draining the brain so easily? I laugh in my heart .

Marquis Kingston nodded.

The old man had no other choice but to agree. In Xellim now, whose swordsmanship is greater than mine? There is no answer. Of course he knew he was betting something on the right person.

"Then can you see this?"

I dug something red in my trouser pocket. I placed the Mana Stone in Marquis Kingston's hand who was now frozen in silence.

"Where did you get this?" he asked in disbelief.

"My family's treasure." I answered with a bit of arrogance, occasionally I want to enjoy the feeling of having the upper hand.

"WHAT!?" he shouted shrilly.

A knight came in to check on Marquis Kingston. But the Marquis hastily told him to return.

"You said your family property?" He asked in disbelief. Even Verion who was beside him seemed to be hypnotized by that red Mana stone.

"Yeah, I just found it. What do you think?"

"Extraordinary. This is a high quality Mana stone."

I nodded.

"It's a very beautiful and great stone." I nodded again at his compliment.

"The magicians and other families will definitely be fighting for this"

Again I nodded.

"A Mana Stone of this size costs 700 gold coins."

I nodded once again. But suddenly I fell silent, and tried to digest Marquis Kingston's words. 700 gold coins!

700 gold coins!

700 gold coins!

Gold coins!

Gold!

"WHAT!?" This time it was me who screamed in surprise knowing the price of Mana stones which I always treated casually.

Yeah, that rock in my trouser pocket, I sat roughly, and stuff. Again, a knight came in to check. Marquis Kingstone told him to come out again.

I shyly looked at the knight, my demeanor seemed like someone who was easy to fool.

"I know, those Mana stones are of good quality, but for a fist the size of a fist to cost that much, it's amazing .…"

"This includes the Mana stones, Akion. And its usability is very good, magicians who absorb these Mana stones will increase their magic power."

"May I buy this?"

"How much do you want?" I exactly look like a merchant. Tanka who was flying near me, smiled mockingly.

This is money sniffing.

"It seems you have a lot."

"Yes, and you will sell it."

"It is an honor to be able to sell this high quality item. Thank you for your trust, Akion."

Verion was still looking at him in admiration. His hand moved slowly to touch.

"If you want it, take it. Consider it a small gift from me," I said to Verion. I couldn't bear to let him stop himself from touching it.

"Really, Master Akion?" he replied enthusiastically. I nodded.

Then, I looked at Marquis Kingston again when Verion was holding his Mana stone.

"I have terms and conditions for this. Tonight will be a very long night."

Marquis Kingston didn't answer me, he gave orders to Verion to bring the pile of documents in front of us. Business agreement done.

**

I got out of the tent. Last night I stayed up quite a long time. I only slept for maybe three hours, but this body can take it well.

See, after only three hours of sleep, my body condition has recovered. Even though I've experienced it, I still feel amazed by the condition of Akion's body.

A sumptuous breakfast consisting of beef steak, wine, dessert, and fruit was in front of me.

Indeed, being in the class of Marquis Kingston is a common thing. However, he replied with an apology for serving such a simple breakfast.

Damn. I'm a little jealous here. But I ate it without protest.

"Can I have some coffee?" A waiter came to me, and gave me a cup of hot coffee. Recently I've come to like coffee.

Enjoying wine in the morning doesn't feel right in my mouth. Next to the seemingly healthy Marquis Kingston, Verion looked extremely exhausted.

Last night, after I gave him the red Mana stone, he absorbed the stone and used its power to heal his father. Verion's lack of experience, made his body receive more of the effects.

At least he was alive and unharmed. Just a day's rest he can come back. That is if he can rest.

"Depart," ordered Marquis Kingston from inside his chariot.

I allow Verion to be by his father's side, maybe he is currently sleeping in the carriage like a baby.

Verion is now under my care, so he has to listen to all my orders. His father did not object to it.

Our days passed with hot and rainy weather, we still went according to plan. And as expected, there was a hitman aiming for Marquis Kingston. Too bad, they met me and didn't understand the situation well.

So they all died.

"If I had a daughter, I would marry you and her." The corner of the old man's eyes wrinkled clearly as he laughed.

Every now and then Marquis Kingston would joke with me, he would approach like a father embracing his child.

I'm Verion's age. On the sidelines of the trip, I ordered Levian to teach Verion. Maybe Verion was too confident in his magic that he didn't train his own physique. That's what makes his body weak.

"Swing a thousand times," Levian ordered Verion.

Marquis Kingston saw that, but he didn't care. Even approached someone who was chatting with Tanka.

"What are you doing?"

"Oh, Marquis Kingston," I greeted unexpectedly. He glanced at the chair beside me.

"May I sit down?"

"Please."

Tanka pouted. Previously she was sitting in that chair, when I allowed Marquis Kingston to sit, it hurt her pride.

She flew in annoyance towards Levian. I smiled a little. Marquis Kingston saw that smile. "

Is there something funny?"

"Yes, a dragonfly is angry."

Marquis Kingston tilted his head, confused. "What is it Lord Marquis?" "I'm just looking for a drinking buddy." Right after he said that, a waiter came over to bring us coffee.

You're being polite, I accept the invitation to drink. We drank while watching Verion who was training.

"You must be asking, why didn't Verion train his physique long ago?" Yes, it's a little annoying, Verion comes from a rich family, it's easy for him to get the best teacher.

"Verion was born prematurely, his body is weak. He often gets sick."

"Because the family situation was not good, I decided to hide it. He hid from one temple to another."

I'm still listening.

"But, he doesn't have holy power, instead he has magic power. A priest secretly gave him a book and taught him a little bit of Mana. The priest is my best friend."

"That's the reason why the magic power isn't very strong." I understand about Marquis Kingston's love for his only child.

But, weren't his actions too naive for this world? He had to pay any price to make his child strong and well protected. Apparently, he wanted peace for his son instead.

"This is your wife's request?" Those eyes crinkled clear again, a warm look when he spoke of his wife. Yes, that's for sure.

"Sorry if I offended you," I said.

"That's right. My wife is afraid of bloodshed, so she wants Verion to live in peace."

"Believe me, it's just an illusion." I stared at the vast green plain in front of us.

"I understand that, young Baron. It might be too late for me, but not for him. So lucky to meet you." Now her smile looks like Verion's.

A smile that tugged at me uncomfortably.

**

The next day, we arrived at Redvet, and when we arrived at Redvet's magic tower, a witch wearing a black robe greeted us warmly.

His beard was white, as was his stature like Dumbledore's. He was a man of great stature and height, with a bewilderingly friendly demeanor.

His lips kept opening to speak to Marquis Kingston. They seem to have a strong bond.

"Welcome to my magic tower, Master Akion Naal Sanktessy," The sorcerer opened the door of the magic tower, allowing me to enter first before the others.

I take this as his generosity.

"He's my brother." Marquis Kingston whispered in my ear.

This person always has a surprise to share. It was only natural that he had so much faith in this magician.

"Is there another surprise?"

He laughed.

"You have more surprises," He passed me. Old men who have a lot of experience are a little different. "

Finally I can rest…." Verion dragged his feet as he passed me. Hard training made him look like a zombie.

"Rest are only for lazy people" Levian walked past his saying so.

Verion's expression changed to a disappointed one, somewhere his usual friendly face.

"Akion, this is a simple magic tower." I nodded in agreement with Tanka. The magic tower wasn't big, the furniture was ancient and simple, and there were very few other magicians.

However, Redvet is a small village, a miracle in this village there is a magic tower.

Isn't this the same as luxury? Usually magicians would prefer in the city, but in the suburbs, or in an area where the land contains a lot of magic.

But not with this, it's a small village without magic, and peaceful.
