Chapter 20 - My Mother's Face

How's my mother's face?

She has light brown hair, and blue eyes. Long hair, typical of any Imperial woman who upholds that woman's crown. Hair has always been the best decoration for women.

She was elegant, there were dimples on her right cheek, and a small mole on her chin. She's so beautiful.

My mother was the daughter of Count Invit before, yes she was blood with that jerk uncle.

My mother was the youngest child, of her 4 brothers and 3 sisters. They were the ones who drove my mother to Sanktessy, thinking of it as a pest that had to be thrown out of place.

My mother loved my father, even in the sneers and sneers of people. Likewise with my father, she loved the mother who had sacrificed so much for the person she thought was inappropriate.

Looking at the longest large painting of mom in the main hallway, signifies how much she loves dad and hopes anyone sees her beauty and admires her.

It was a beautiful face. She's an adult version of Renia.

I remember my real mother, she also often took good care of her hair. Say that this is a woman's crown.

When my mother combed my hair and I noticed her, she would smile and tickle me.

They're both equally beautiful. I found similarities again with Akion, we both lost mothers.

"Come on, brother." Renia pulled my fingertips.

Unknowingly as I passed through this hallway, I was too fixated on Akion's mother's painting. My steps stopped, even though renia and I wanted to go to the greenhouse to see all the collection of plants.

Seeing me still having trouble removing the vision on the painting, Renia asked me, "do you miss mom?"

The question made me look at her little body, she was looking at me with her own heart. This little body must be trying very hard not to whine in order to see the mother.

I'm holding Renia. We both looked at the big painting.

"Isn't mom very beautiful?" I asked.

Renia nodded, "Mom is the prettiest woman in the world," she said loudly not to put on a sad face.

I rubbed her head.

"Apparently, that title will be inherited later on by you." This sincere smile from her brother might be able to warm her heart.

'That's not true. Mom will be the most beautiful woman forever."

"Oh, really? But mom would be very happy if Renia beat that record."

I laughed seductively. Then we started walking.

"Really?" Her cheeks bulged very cutely, then I pinched one of her cheeks gently.

"Sure. Parents always want their children to be superior to them."

That's what people say, not according to my parents. They want me to be happy and love myself more than anyone else.

According to them, I am me, someone who has the right to determine his wishes. Not that I think a parent's desire for a superior child is wrong. They just love in a different way.

Even my parents, if I surpassed them, they would be proud too.

Ah, for a moment I missed Earth and my parents. Want to make a pilgrimage to their graves and bring the mother of red roses and tell them about my story.

It's like an indigestible dream.

But it's real and I'm running. My new life is an incredible fantasy.

I smiled myself.

"Is there something funny, brother?" Renia again interrupted me.

**

"La la la~" Renia hummed as she shrieked her plants.

She seemed so enthusiastic about taking care of her plants. Her golden eyeballs looked shinier than usual.

I couldn't believe at that young age, she had poured out her interest in botany so high.

It's a quiet sight to behold.

Knowing she was knowledgeable, and skilled in botany, Renia had to enter the academy and become a very great expert.

Genius? Maybe it's a word that people think is too high to be reached by Renia.

As her brother, I would be sure that Renia is in the best Academy on the continent. Then, I won't let anyone else step on it.

That's my job.

"I'll add fertilizer for you." Renia spoke to the purple Begonia flower with a smile.

In her interactions with every plant she cared for, I felt like I was alienated. She was so focused that he forgot about her surroundings.

Her tiny hands were skilled, and her small lips kept open talking to the plants she cared for.

At the very least, I understand that plants can also be affected by sound. Many studies say that music can make a good response to plant growth.

I don't want to disturb her world. There were only the two of us here, getting to know Renia's world was the way to get closer.

Bugh!

She was tripped up by a slightly protruding floor. She immediately stood up as if nothing had happened, and patted her dress several times.

"Are you okay?"

"I-yes."

"There's hurt?"

She caught a glimpse of me, then her little face turned to look at the falling fertilizer.

"Need help?"

I'm not the kind of person who would step in to help with a trivial matter like this. Why? That's a question that's often said.

It's a small thing, I want Renia to be independent. I want her to be a respected, thoughtful, and great woman who makes her own choices.

If in a small matter I immediately jump in to help her, besides I make her spoiled, I also don't take care of her feelings.

"No need, brother," she replied softly.

She picked up the fertilizer carefully, looking at me who was still smiling at her and didn't intervene in her, Renia seemed relieved.

It was common in the Empire that women were required to be perfect.

"You are very good at treating them."

I crouched down next to her, who was giving fertilization. She looked embarrassed.

"Is this a common flower in Elperanda?"

Renia looked at me, not believing in my low knowledge of this. What I persuaded earlier was a black orchid, something unique. To be honest, I've heard of black orchids while on Earth, it's on the island of Borneo.

"It's an endemic flower, brother."

I nodded, Renia switched to touch the leaves of the black orchids as if to show me, look at these flowers, they are unique and we can't find them here.

It was delivered with a funny expression.

Apparently, the small, voiceless laughter I tried to endure was known to Renia. I'm in a hurry to find an excuse.

"You're smart, Renia."

"I know from Harzem."

I don't know why she's a little disappointed in me. The glances of the eyes she discarded, and the evasive head movements, were really rather disturbing.

The envy in me also appeared. Harzem seemed to be very close to Renia. Several times Akion saw them walking together, talking casually like brothers in general.

"this brother Harzem gave to you?"

My guess was correct, Renian nodded. Her glowing eyes showed that she missed Harzem. Six months Harzem has never returned to the mansion.

"Brother Harzem said, this flower was obtained from the Eastern continent."

I touched her soft hair, that softness was more than silk. The hair moved smoothly as they fell.

"It seems, big brother will give you plants as well."

Competition in fraternity often occurs. I suddenly wanted to compete with Harzem to impress Renia. I'll give you a plant that's better than the one given by Harzem.

At first glance I thought of giving Renia a devil's leg, but given Tanka's very chattiness and usefulness, I withheld the idea.

I'll give you something just as great. Then I can be proud to beat Harzem, the playboy of adventure who now knows where he is.

"Let's eat a snack."

When I said that, Nami had prepared a snack for us. A little hand was holding my hand, I took our footsteps.

A beautiful sight to enjoy while eating a snack. It's in a well-maintained greenhouse. It was like a special tea party for both of us.
