Dahlia ran back toward him and took the basket out of his hands, removing the blanket and spreading it on the grass. She took off her shoes and sat, with her hands propped behind her and her ankles crossed. She looked up at Jason and smiled shyly.
Her long red hair fluttered in the wind, seeming as though it was dancing. It added an element of unrestrained wildness to her already dazzling beauty. When she tilted her head back, the way the sun poured its light on her looked like a halo. Jason shook his head to clear it. He felt like whenever he looked at her, his mind drifted. He found it hard to concentrate on anything but her. She had always been on his mind before, but nothing like she was now. She dominated his dreams every night, and her smile made him feel as though he was the luckiest man in the world.
Ahhh, he thought. Just like the smile she gave him now.
