Three hours later
He stared at them in shock. He thought they'd get along well, but not this well, alright? Alessia jumped on board immediately with the special admission when they realized they had similar majors as well. He thought to himself, "Wasn't this too coincidental?" He shook his head. He knew that Alessia, more than anyone, disliked his parents for what they did to her older brother, so he wasn't worried about her being their spy or anything.
He looked on as they talked about everything. From their favorite books, some of which they had in common, along with their favorite music. From what he could tell, they seemed like they were meant to be. He cold sweated a bit. They were just too alike. Way too alike for his peace of mind since Alessia is well-known for her occasional crazy stunts. As he looked at his sister practically radiating joy as she spoke to Alessia, he prayed that she would always be this happy and that she would not stress him out the way Alessia does her older brother with her antics. He felt a chill run down his spine at the thought of going through the same thing he laughed at his friend for.
He shook his head thinking, my precious baby sister wouldn't do those th-....
"Lessie, maybe we should sky dive for real, just like they did for that music video!" Theia said
"You know what, Thee. it sounds like a great idea!" she replied excitedly.
"WAIT A MOMENT!" he shouted. He saw them both look at him as though they were baffled. He continued," There will be no sky diving. NONE. I don't want to hear it. Theia, begging me with that look won't help and Alessia, I'll be calling Jared."
He ignored their protests, resting his face in his hands. Where? Just where did this conversation suddenly go wrong? Is he really going to be like Jared? No, he shouted inwardly. I refuse. I'll have to do something about this.
After a few more hours of chatting, they decided that he'd drive them down to Yale that Friday, and they'd stay in the dorms for the first year as required. Then, in the second year, they'd get an apartment. After all the plans were made, Friday came faster than she thought. After bidding farewell to Bianca and her parents, with Alex personally expressing his gratitude to them, they were off. He helped them get settled into the same dorm room, of course. There were not many special admission students to begin with, so the odds were in their favor. Then he hugged his little sister and left to go back to school. Alessia and Theia stood looking at his car disappearing into the distance and smiled at each other. This was going to be a great year.
And indeed, it was. Alessia taught her everything she needed to know about the world they resided in for that year. When she finally met her "parents" and realized exactly what Alex said to her, it was still an understatement. Or maybe she underestimated it, but she definitely understood. She much preferred going to the Redingtons for vacation, especially since her brother was also allowed to come along.
In their second year, they moved out of the dorms and into their apartment. That was when the requests to make appearances started coming in. While she could get out of it sometimes, she still had to go at times. For her, having Alex and Alessia around would greatly relieve the pressure of being around her parents. Even when she discovered that they wanted to sell her off, she remained calm, ignoring them for the while since it wouldn't happen while she was in college and, regardless, neither she nor Alex would let that happen.
In her third year, they started being more and more persistent with their requests for her to go to events. While she went to a few, she took on more courses along with Alessia so they would both have reasons not to go. If Alessia went, her parents would make a fuss about why she could make time but Theia couldn't. Plus, Alessia hated going without her since she would constantly be approached by family heirs attempting to use her to get to her family, whether by marriage or by dating. In this way, it worked out well for them both.
It was thanks to that motivation for school work that they made the Dean's list constantly, with flawless GPAs. They were even set to graduate a bit earlier than expected thanks to the additional courses. Of course, besides Alex, Theia told no one of this. Who knew how those scheming snakes would move up their plans? Then came a golden opportunity to get away for three entire months. An exchange program with Cambridge University for an entire semester.
