As she lay back on the couch, she gradually recalled why she ended up in this position in the first place. It was him. Always and only him. Tall, dark and handsome as sin, he fulfilled every desire she never even knew she had. In just a short space of time, he filled her head with nothing but him. Even though it's been four months since, how could she possibly forget him? Although the bigger question was, did she even want to forget him? She couldn't answer that, particularly since now she couldn't possibly forget him.
*Four months ago*
"Less, let's apply for the exchange program. Due to the timing, it would be a great change of pace and I'd be able to get away from those awful people. " Theia said excitedly.
Alessa looked at her and she could see her emerald-green eyes sparkling at the thought of getting away from the Lexingtons for an entire semester. She couldn't blame her. They were truly awful people. Even as money minded as the Redingtons were, they treated each other well and respected each other's choices. This was something Theia could only dream about.
Alessa watched her best friend as she twirled excitedly, her bright and cheery attitude a perfect match for the cocktail-blue afternoon sky and the cool summer air. As expected, when Theia is happy, she looks transcendent. Looking at the way the sun shone on her blonde hair like a halo, she quickly took a video and snapped two pictures to send to him before she agreed to apply with her.
Theia squealed excitedly. "Yes, yes, yes! Thank you, Lessie! " She grabbed her hand and they skipped in a circle, laughing.
Gorgeous sunset-gold hair and bright sunshine-golden hair flew around as they happily skipped in circles, laughing on the grass. After a few minutes of that, they dropped onto the grass, laughing and gasping for air.
"Thank you, Less. Thank you for always supporting even my selfish decisions," she said, reaching out to grasp Alessia's hand. "You are honestly my favorite person in this world after Alex. I don't know what I'd do without you, and I am grateful every day to have you in my life. "
Alessia's eyes teared up. "You've saved me more times than you realize. You are also one of my top three favorite people. I'm grateful that Alex thought of me first when he figured you needed a friend. Besides, we fit perfectly, "she replied, turning her head to look at Theia.
Theia turned toward her as well. "That's because you are my soul mate. There will probably never be another person who gets me so precisely the way you do, and I don't need there to be another one. "
"Same. You're mine as well, "she said as they held hands.
The next day, they went to the help desk to fill out the applications and then took them to be stamped by the Dean of their department.
Knock!Knock!Knock!
"Please come in," said Dean Elliot Micheal. They opened the door, revealing a young woman of around twenty-eight years old. She had a waterfall of straight mink-brown hair, slate-gray eyes, and a warm smile on her face. She was one of the youngest deans at Yale and the most loved one since she understood what students were going through. She was strict but also open to compromise for the right reasons.
"How can I help my favourite students?" she asked. They laughed and took out the forms.
"Dean Michael, would you sign off on this for us? We'd like to drop it in as soon as possible, "Alessia said. Dean Michael took the forms, looking them over.
"Wait," she said, " The both of you want to go for the foreign exchange program? I'm sorry, but I don't think that would be possible. "
They froze.
Alessia came to quicker than Theia and asked, "It's open to everyone, particularly those with good grades, so why are we not allowed?"
"Yeah!" Theia chimed in.
Dean Michael looked at them quietly before opening her file cabinet and digging around. They looked at her, curious as to what she was going to do. They watched as she finally found what she was looking for and pulled out a thick file. Opening it, she looked at them and said, "Now then, let's get started, shall we? You should probably have a seat. This could take a while. "
They obediently sat down.
"First, there was the incident in which you defaced public property in the form of a statue of Robert E. Lee, and before you say anything, yes, it was scheduled to come down because we don't support having a racist statue on display. However, it was still public property. You had no right to do what you did. "
They looked at her quietly. She continued, "Then there was the incident of the both of you toilet papering someone's dorm building because you had an argument over pizza, of all things. PIZZA! "
"In our defense, it only started as PIZZA before it es-(whispers quietly as the dean stared at her) calated...." Theia paused.
"Then there was the time that you both posted a classmate's conversations and videos of things he did as payback for harassing a friend of yours. While I'm happy he got what he deserved personally, that isn't the way to handle things. "
"After that, we have painting over a sorority house's pillars because they hazed someone you knew; bungee jumping off the first year dorm building for a dare; putting weird hats on all the statues to "liven them up"; adding in your own words to the engraved words already there. I mean, really, what is it with you two and statues? Then we have throwing a block party on the lawn, convincing an entire class to stay home because you wanted to go to a concert and didn't want to be the only ones absent, and honestly, I can go on and on, "she sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. "Let me hear what you have to say for yourselves now."
Theia and Alessia looked at each other and nodded.
