"Lord Arentine, by order of the major gods, you are to be put on trial for treason," announced a guard wearing a gold-adorned regalia as he stood at the entrance of a wide hall.
The hall had an ancient greek design, with indecipherable runes etched across the length of the several pillars that seemed to stretch up into the infinite night sky.
At the center of the hall stood a brown-haired man wearing a lab coat, standing beside a rotating spherical structure that illuminated a brilliant white light.
"Reveria," chanted Arentine, sending out a bolt of pure gold energy that disintegrated all nine guards stationed at the entrance of the hall.
"None of you understand how precious my work is. With this we will finally know the depths of our power, we will finally all share a single child," laughed Arentine excitedly with a smile on his face as he held up a glowing black orb.
"Arentine to think you would go this far," said a feminine voice as a bright silver light illuminated a few meters away from where Arentine stood.
"Strephica, are you here to stop me? Will you continue to be a hindrance to our evolution?" snarled Arentine as he stared at the silver-haired beauty in front of him with disdain.
"I am here to put an end to your madness. A mortal soul cannot handle the blessings of all eight major gods, stop your foolishness now and put that poor soul out of its misery," ordered Strephica, inching closer to Arentine as she spoke.
"Madness? Yes, that's what the rest of you have thought of me for the last millennia, isn't it?" laughed Arentine, moving back a step each time Strephica inched closer.
"But now look. Behold the fruits of my labor," announced Arentine as he held up the glowing black orb, its pitch-black color akin to that of the abyss.
"Arentine, no. What have you done?" asked Strephica, this time stepping backward with her hand covering her mouth in shock.
"I've created the first child of all the major gods. I even added the blessings of some of the minor gods-" before Arentine could finish, six ruptures of light appeared in the hall next to Strephica.
"Arentine, what you have created is an abomination," said a powerful voice as a massive blonde-haired man appeared out of a rupture exuding a bright yellow light. His hair had sparks of lightning jumping from strand to strand, and his iris was a glowing yellow dot.
"Fulgur, I, I-" before Arentine could finish his explanation another voice interrupted him.
"I didn't think you'd be able to do it. Congrats brother," laughed another figure, this one had purple hair and an echoed voice. His face was skeletal, and a dark aura surrounded him as his chest moved up and down from laughter.
"H-Hectate, at least you understand my work right?" stuttered Arentine, however his brother just shrugged, looking at him with an amused expression.
"Arentine give us the soul. You can't let that thing out into the mortal world. There's no telling what that tortured soul might do to the others," said a green-haired woman in a gentle voice. Her hair was decorated with flowers of different types, and her skin was a vibrant green.
"She's right brother. Souls aren't meant to receive a blessing from more than one god. What you have done is treason against mother herself," said a blue-haired woman in a soothing voice. Her hair waved in the air and her eyes were deep blue, reminiscent of the ocean.
"I always knew this weazel couldn't be trusted. Release the soul or I'll incernerate you where you stand," said a red-haired man in a complacent tone, his hair, beard, and eyebrows were all flaming red, and each time he spoke the embers that were his hair seemed to increase in intensity.
"Calm down Ignis. You know killing another god is an act against mother Fatum," calmed a gray haired woman, her hair blowing back as if it were windy, and her voice distant but strong, like an echo blown in the wind.
"I won't let you destroy my creation. You'll all thank me once its done," said Arentine before running towards the rotating spherical structure.
"Illuminatis," chanted the silver-haired woman, sending a bolt of pure white light rushing towards Arentine.
"What is the meaning of this?" asked an old, tired voice as the white beam was effortlessly deflected, disintegrating one of the many pillars that stretched into the sky.
"Mother," said all the gods in the room simultaneously, bowing down before the old woman dressed in black.
Although old, she illuminated a power more brilliant than all the gods combined, her hair consisted of multicolored strands, with 32 colors in total. Her tired eyes scanned all those present in the room, looking over each and everyone of her children carefully.
"And why have all my elder kindred decided to meet in the soul room? You cannot tell me you all decided to bless a soul on the same day," said the woman, her voice both powerful and confusing, young but old, gentle but unkind, ancient like it had witnessed the birth of the universe.
"It's A-Arentine mother. He stole our blessings, he means to torture a soul into accepting all eight of them and sending it to the mortal world," stuttered Ignis, his flames glowing a calming blue color, instead of the raging deep red it had been glowing a few seconds ago.
"Arentine, is this true? Have you stolen the blessings of your brothers and sisters?" asked Fatum, making Arentine shrink closer to the floor in fear.
"Not only that mother, but he has stolen the blessings of the minor gods as well," added Strephica.
"And you thought that was enough reason to attack your kin?" asked Fatum, turning to look at Strephica with an angered gaze.
"N-no, mother. I acted on impulse. Forgive me," begged Strephica as she squirmed on the floor at the mere gaze from her mother.
"Arentine, I have warned you many times not to do something you might one day regret. It seems that you have finally cr-" before Fatum could complete her sentence another rupture of light appeared.
The one had a deep black color that seemed to suck in all the other colors around it,
"Corruptus," murmured the eight gods who kneeled in front of their mother.
