Chapter 2 - Prologue (2)

"You dare show yourself in front of-" Ignis was about to shout before his mother glanced at him, prompting him to put down his head.

"Corruptus, why have you come dear?" asked Fatum, looking at the black figure that bowed in front of her, his presence sucking in all the light around him.

"I wondered where all my brothers and sisters had disappeared to mother. I was worried," said Corruptus in a sweet tone, his smile hinting otherwise.

"You dare call us your sisters and brothers," shouted Fulgur, his voice like a thunderclap.

"Fulgur," scolded Fatum, causing Fulgur to pass out due to shock.

"It's okay. I was just sorting out some issues. You don't have to worry," assured Fatum before healing Fulgur, bringing him back to full health.

"Sorry child. But learn to accept your new brother. He was born of my flesh just like the rest of you, it just saddens me to see you treat him that way," said Fatum, caressing Fulgur's face before walking towards Arentine.

"For the crime of stealing your sibling's blessings. I sentence you to a hundred years in oblivion. I shall take over your duties," said Fatum, her voice changing from the sweet tone it was a second ago, to a cold merciless one.

"W-what, m-mother. Please. I did this for all of us. I just wanted to test the extent of our power. I wanted us to one day become as powerful as you, to help you," said Arentine, although he was complaining he kept his head bowed.

"I know child. But stealing from your siblings is a big offense. I love you, but the means in which you attain your wisdom should be as righteous as the reasons. You should know that, after all, you are the god of wisdom" said Fatum before hugging Arentine.

"The rest of you may leave. And Strephica, if you ever cast a spell against your kind again, you too will receive a punishment," warned Fatum before releasing Arentine.

"Now place the soul in the Orsus, and get ready for your punishment," ordered Fatum.

"What? Mother, you can't be serious. That soul is an abomination, what if it runs rampant in the mortal plane. There's no telling what it might do to the other souls," complained Strephica, the other gods nodding in agreement.

"And what would you have me do? Destroy it?" asked Fatum. Meanwhile, Corruptus removed a pale white orb from his cloak. Hiding it from Fatum's view.

"Y-yes mother. Please," pleaded Strephica.

"I won't have it. All souls deserve a chance," replied Fatum, gesturing for Arentine to place the orb in the rotating spherical structure.

"Then I shun that soul. Never to look upon it with favor," said Strephica, her tone sour.

"Strephica are you sure? You shun a soul without it even offending you?" asked Fatum, surprised by her daughter's decision.

"Its existence is an offense to all of creation," replied Strephica, prompting her siblings to speak up as well.

"I shun that soul. Never to look upon it with favor," said the other gods as well. Causing the black orb in Arentine's hand to turn pale white at its outer rim.

"You all have a long way to go. To shun a soul without giving it a chance," murmured Fatum sadly, as she turned to Arentine.

"Mother, if they wish to shun my creation then I wish to look upon it with favor. I know that the favor of a single god cannot overpower the shunning of seven, but I still wish it to have a chance at living a fruitful life," said Arentine, looking at his creation with pity.

"I too wish to look upon that soul with favor mother," added Corruptus.

"Who gave you the authority to give out favor? You aren't even a real g-" before Strephica could finish her sentence, Fatum glared at her, forcing her to keep quiet and squirm in pain.

"It's about time you were allowed to give favor. Very well, I'll allow it," replied Fatum.

"I Arentine, god of wisdom bless this soul. To show favor to it for all its life," said Arentine, however the orb did not change in appearance.

"I Corruptus, god of corruption bless these souls. To show favor to them for all their lives," said Corruptus, receiving confused gazes from all those in the room, all except Fatum who gave him a knowing gaze.

"Forgive me, it's my first time. I forgot there was but a single soul," laughed Corruptus awkwardly.

"Now cast it, and let us be done with this matter," complained Fulgur.

Arentine carefully tossed the orb into the spherical structure causing it to glow brighter than ever before.

At the same time the orb entered the center of the Orsus, another orb accompanied it, this one pale white, sucking some of the light illuminated from the first.

The two orbs swirled down towards a massive planet, with patches of green, blue and brown covering it.

They spun around each other in a helix, the pale white one drawing energy, while the black one gave out energy. A link formed between them, wherever one would go, the other would follow.

For a whole year, they traveled around this new planet, till eventually residing in the body of a pregnant white-haired woman, taking the form of twins.
