Back at the Le Orientals…
Kaiden started to feel that the kiss had extended too long but of course, he wanted it, how could he not want it? He had missed Jake, far too much to even be described and it was only natural that he absolutely did not want this much of a fairytale to conclude too soon and even if this were a dream, he would not want to wake up from it. Not any sooner, not any later.
But then, there was Vanessa. He knew she wouldn't object to it even though her health was suffering, but then he knew her health was suffering.
Usually, it would be wrong for him to be pondering on such a thing while trapped in his lover's embrace where he was enjoying a perfectly fulfilling kiss, one that reignited lost passions and emotions.
But then he was abundantly distressed over her current state. She was his responsibility and the last time their gaze stuck before the kiss, she'd seemed nearly unrecognisable.
