His voice silenced every chattering in the hall. It wasn't like he had meant for it to happen but maybe his voice had resonated with some rigid authority?
Cindy halted in her tracks, and Jake rushed to meet her. This behaviour caused the side talks to resume. The busy atmosphere soon became swamped with opinionated talks about what was happening between these two.
Ignoring all that, Cindy veered around to look at him. She could not lie to herself. She really liked this boy. She had always had a crush on him but him being gay and dating Gabriel back then was something she would rather not think about.
"I am sorry," Jake surprisingly said to her.
It was a struggle but Cindy blinked back her desire to blush.
"It's fine," Cindy told him. "If you like, I can take you up to his office. He did step out a while ago but he should be back in a minute now–"
