XIAO SHING'S POV
After done calling Uncle Ben, I keep myself entertain . The traffic is as heavy as a rain that even we used a short cut we still bump into this traffic jam. Though, it seems that we're going to be stuck here much longer that we thought, we tried to enjoy ourselves by listening to music or playing online games. Far usual that what I used to do, I don't have much choice since there's nothing else to see aside from cars in line that's been beeping continuesly while some of the drivers have been crazily shouted nonsense.
Ru Shi was patiently waiting or rather enjoying the traffic. He seems smiling despite the noises outside. It's like he is currently thinking of something funny because I could catch him chuckling on his own. I confusedly look at him frowning while he just stare outside still smiling brightly.
"What are you thinking?"
"Huh? What is it Shing-er?"
"Well, I've noticed that you're been constantly smiling and it concerns me. Is it something funny?"
"Haha. Nothing much. I just remembered that time when I came back here looking for you. Time flies really fast that when I think about it, it makes me feel proud"
"Oh. Then why did you came back to look for me?"
"Have you forgotten? I made a promise to you right? That I will be back. That's why I gave you that bracelet for you to hold on to my promise. And look at us, we're now sitting in the same car. When I was still abroad, I constantly keep on thinking about you. There's no single day that I never think about you. Worried about you that sometimes I wish the time would turn out fast so that I will be right next to you the next day. And now, here we are. I regret wishing it. How I wish the time will run slow so that I can spend more time than 24 hours with you"
"Have we spent enough time together?'
"Haha silly, ofcourse not. It is not enough. Even if it's for a lifetime, it will never be enough"
"Do you want to be with me?"
I asked. I saw how his expression change. He was shocked at some point but later on he smiles genuinely but with a hint of sadness. I don't know why but it feels like I've broke something I shouldn't have that.
"Yes, do you mind, Shing-er?"
He playfully messed my hair as he look directly into my eyes. I could see the longing and anticipation of it but then I suddenly remember my Soffee. What will happen to him? No body knows about his real identity, also Ru Shi don't like Soffee at most and I don't know why but they seems distance to each other. If I think about it, they both have
"Haha I was just kidding, two men cannot be together. The heavens will not allow it. It's a sin that humans shan't commit"
I was surprised to his sudden remark. It feels like something pierced through my heart. It makes me uncomfortable for unknown reason. His words are like knife that it cut all my senses and I think I don't like to hear it again.
The traffic is now slowly decreasing, the vehicles are now taking it's wheel to roll. But my heart was still bothered about it. Those sentence still stuck into my mind like a glue. Even if I want to forget it or ignore it, I couldn't help but feel unease. Something isn't right. Something is missing. Something keeps me wonder. What is that something? Is it what said? or is it something else. I don't want to think but it never subsided. The pain is hunting me. Feels like I couldn't breathe like I'm almost loosing my life. What did he meant by 'a sin that humans shan't commit'. The more I think about it, the more questions piling up my head and it's driving me nuts.
"What are you thinking, Shing-er? is something bothering you?"
"Nothing, just some random stuff"
"What kind of random stuff?"
"Well, Like if Soffee is fine or is he well-behaved. Something like that"
I lied. Though, I want to asked him about what he said earlier, I think it's best to keep it for now. It feels like this is not the right time to asked him. Like if I do, I will loose him. I'm worried if it were just me who mind it negatively or not.
"Your 'Dog' is well-trained precisely. So I guess he's fine. Besides you already called Uncle Ben, right? He's a veterinarian so there's nothing to worried about. He will be perfectly fine"
"I guess so"
I smile bitterly. As the car moving it's way back home, I tried to disregard my feelings. It still hurt but I guess I should just have forget about it. As I close my eyes, I immediately remember Soffee's human-dog form. It feels unreal but whenever I think about how handsome he is, I couldn't help but feel an awe. He is much taller compared to me. Or maybe he's as same height as Ru Shi. I don't know but thinking about it, I felt a butterfly in my stomach. It tickles and chilling at the same time but it's feels awesome in some way. Though, I still don't believe him being a werewolf like what he said since it is a new era, new beliefs and new generation, still what if it's real? What if it's not just some random cosplay? But fur and ears are like the same of Soffee. And what he's name again?
"Lu Shao An"
I mindlessly spill his name as I thought I was just thinking about him. Ru Shi stops the car in the middle of the highway that it I abruptly open my eyes as I look at him frowning.
"Who is it Shing-er?"
"Who?"
"The name you just said"
"I did?"
"Yes you did, so who is he?"
"What name?"
"You said 'Lu Shao An' "
"We...we can talk about it later, but for now, I guess we have to continue driving. We're in the middle of the subway and it's causing traffic so please"
"No. I want to know it right here, right now"
"But---"
"Will you tell me or not?"
"Why do you care?"
"I care because i--- tsk forget it"
I was stunned. It's my first time seeing how aggressive he is. It's not that I mind but it's not his usual self. My big brother seems like a different person for a second. It feels like the I know was gone.
