Chapter 23 - Chapter 23

As Tash sat and watched the end of the exam, only one team managed to fight the Goblin Champion with out the teachers help, as well as that there where a few mutants on the basic goblins that came. She was aware of the talk about her and Gils fight and how useless she was. That was until she fired the ice dagger, everyone thought that was planned.

"Si, how far ahead did you plan" Tash thought watching the last team. No one had gone as far as there team and no one had performed as well as Gil did.

"Okay, now that every one is done we will work out how each team performed and give you a Provisional hunters license with your grade in the morning. For the students that aren't here please inform them of this. In 10 days there will be another test, this well be done in teams of 6-8 this will be the original attack team you are in and then mixed in with the support team" Sarah announced. "When you come here in 2 days there will be a groups of support students here for you to team up with, the contents of the test will be announced it 7 days. I suggest that the two days before pairing with the support you spend looking over how you performed here then the next 7 learning about you new team"

Slowly students started to leave talking about how well they performed or how bad others did.

"Silver and Natasha defiantly where the best"

"I thought Natasha was useless until the last attack"

As Tash walked past she heard this sort of talk, she was happy that others thought she was useful and wasnt trying to steal the glory like they originally did. Walking back to her dorm she noticed Gils door slightly open, looking through she saw he was asleep.

Walking across to her room, she wrote what the teacher has said, slipped it under his door, washed and went to bed as well.

Gil woke up and it was pitch black, looking at the time it was 2 in the morning, deciding to get changed and train he spotted the note from Tash.

"Grade will be given in morning,

New test in 10 days and will be joining a support team in 2 days.

-Tash"

Putting this on his desk and checking if there was anything else Gil left to the closes training room. Gil had noticed that he required less sleep to feel equally refreshed now he had the system, opening the doors Gil saw it was completely empty. Even though this was what he had expected it still felt weird.

[Shadow fight]

[1. Basic Goblin

2. Hobgoblin 42%

3. Goblin Paladin 8%]

When fighting the monster in the exam Gil had completed the basic goblin and made progress on the others, fighting the monsters provided the better experiences.

Gil choose the basic goblin and a semi transparent goblin appeared, Gil then thought of 4 of them and 4 more emerged from the shadows.

When Gil was happy they started to run towards him in the same fashion as the ones from yesterday. 2 of the Goblins jumped in the air growling whilst the other two ran to each side of Gil. Gil fired an earth spear to the left whilst raising a large wall to block the two jumping and lastly drawing a blade to kill the one on the right.

[1/4 shadow goblins defeated]

[2/4 shadow goblins defeated]

When the goblin was killed it faded away into the shadows, the other two goblins had now climbed onto the wall. One of them threw its dagger to Gil, wanting to test out what would happen if his shadow monsters hit him he stuck his arm out.

[-20 phycological HP]

[Phycological damage - will be taken away from normal HP but the attach will not show on the user. This takes a longer time to heal then normal damage]

Satisfied with the answer Gil faced the last two, with the elemental spears the basic goblins fell much faster. When the last one fell Gil raised 6 this time, taken on 6 was more challenging then 4. After facing all of them Gil raised a hobgoblin, compared to the basic goblin that had a complete understanding there where several differences. The first was that it wasn't the same size as the normal hobgoblin that Gil saw yesterday, the second difference was that it was a lot more transparent then the basic goblins.

[Incomplete Hobgoblin shadow - all the hobgoblins stat will be reduced to 48%]

Gil started attacking it and after a few minutes it faded back into the shadows dead.

"Well that was disappointing" Gil Thought.

[Unable to summon more then 1, when understanding reaches 50% more will be able to be summoned]

Gil read the screen that came when he attempted to summon 2 hobgoblins to practice on, he now tried to summon some more basic goblins as well. He managed to summon 1 hobgoblin and 6 basic goblins.

As soon as the last goblin was formed they all began to charge at Gil. 4 goblins charged directly at him with the hobgoblin slightly behind, the last two goblins running to the right of him. Raising his left hand Gil created a wall of fire, this was a normal flame blast combined with mana shaping to spread it into a this square of fire. Using this to block the two on the left Gil charged forward coating his blade with fire.

[Fire blade evolved to fire edge]

A compressed line of fire coated the edge of the blade in Gils hand, slashing at the 2 fasted Goblins the sword glided through both goblins.

[1/6 shadow goblins defeated]

[2/6 shadow goblins defeated]

[3/6 shadow goblins defeated]

Gil know that the fire wall on the left had killed one goblin meaning one was left there, jumping up and flipping over the last two goblins so he was directly facing the hobgoblin.

Firing an elemental spear of each different element at all of the hobgoblin limbs he then followed up with a wind slash at its throat.

[1/1 shadow Hobgoblins defeated]

The remaining 3 Goblin took a few move to finish.

"The hobgoblin shadow isnt the best to train against at the moment" Gil thought. "Now to try something new"

Whilst Gil was fighting he realised that he hadnt acquired any new elements to fight with.

"First raise a fire wall, now water needle through the fire" Gil thought, as the fire and water met a large close of steam came out, touching it with his hand it was extremely hot. "This will be very useful" Gil said out load

"Okay next test"

Gil put his sword away and raised both hands, in the left a mana ball of water and the right a mana ball of fire, willing the fire ball to move to the left. When the two met another ball of steam exploded on Gils hand, He tried it again and before the two met Gil raised an air ball.

When the fire and water met the steam was about to spread out when the air ball sucked it all in, like the time when Gil absorbed the mist from Tash's attack before.

[Steam learnt]

[Steam lvl 1

A combination of 3 elements to make the steam, the user at will can raise and chill the temperature of the steam.]

Gil was pleased with this as it meant that he could make new attacks, looking at the time Gil decided he had 3 hours before the others would come to the training hall. He dedicated this time to learn and experiment with many different attacks.
