"Thank you Leon, my name is Frank Avan and i came the guild master of the Dragon Guild here in the Draco continent. My power allows me to tame the monsters defeated but not killed. The one behind me" Mr. Azan waved his hand to the beast behind him "This is a level 3 hell hound that Ive raised for 7 years the most powerful beast i have tamed is a grade 0 wyvern." Pausing to let this sink in.
"Alright now to talk about the paths you could take once you finish your 3 years here." The huge wolf moved revealing a chalk board.
"1. is the least favourable option - Going back to being a normal citizen abandoning the time you have spent here. We hope that no one picks this but we have to let you know that this is an option.
2. Enlist in the army and fight monsters and gates this way. If you choose this option you will have a sturdy income and support as you grow.
3. Become a professional hunter and fight monsters and gates this way. You wouldn't have a stable income each month as you earn money per mission but you earn a much higher sum then someone in the army would.
4. Study further at a university, this will allow you to improve your powers further and leave at a higher grade then before. It is very hard to get into a university as the teachers are normally grade 0 and above."
"Now i will call you down to give you your provisional licence. Whilst it is a provisional one you cannot go into a gate nor fight monsters without a proper hunter with you. Alright first:

Hurry up, im not waiting all day"
Suddenly the 4 boys scrambled down to get their licences. The continued with the highest being 10C and the lowest being 10F.
"Natasha - 10B
Gil - 10A
Oh thats a very good score"
As Gil and Tash walked down to get there cards, all the talking between students stopped as the watched them walk down.
"When you finish your time here come to the Dragon Guild and ill conduct your exam myself. Leon you have a pair a strong hunters here, if I remember when preparing the licenses there are a several strong students this year." Mr Avan said.
Walking back to there seats Gil wondered if his was the highest of the first year students, he had heard from others that even some second year students where only at the grade now after a year of training. Taking there seats Gil and Tash watched the rest of the students go up and back down, no one got a higher grade then Tash apart from Gil so he was the highest in this class but he wasnt sure about the other 2.
"Well thank you for your time and continue your studying" Mr Avan said climbing onto his Wolf. "Goodbye" and with that the wolf was walking of. By the time everyone had there licences it was mid day, some of the students when for lunch and some trained, Gil and Tash went to train as well.
"Tash i have some new powers i want to try" Gil said hoping she would respond
"What are they" Tash replied "Also what is your power" The last part she thought to herself realising she had never asked and thought it would be awkward to ask now.
Gil walked away about 3 feet, and out of his left hand steam started to emerge.
"Can you do anything with this?" Gil asked
Tash know what he meant and tried to form it into ice but was unable.
"I dont think theres enough water mana there for me to freeze." Tash said.
"Okay let me try again" This time Gil pictured more water mana in the steam and less wind"
[Mist learnt]
[Mist lvl 1
Creates a cloud of mist the user can control. The difference between mist and steam is that mist is water in liquid state, whereas steam is water in a gas state.]
Reading that Gil thought that it would work this time.
"Try now"
Tash who thought that it was the same didnt think this would work, picturing the mist to form into ice dagger she was surprised when it worked.
"This means we can freeze enemies now, if i coat them in mist you can freeze" Gil said happy this had worked. Gil never tried using ice mana as he wasnt sure how Tash would act.
"Alright, anything you wanna do for today and tomorrow before we mix with the support group" GIi asked.
"I want to train, and i think the best way would be fighting" Tash said taking the two staffs and putting them together.
"Okay" Gil said drawing his weapon. Thinking when they fought last time gil thought that Tash had the upper hand in terms of power and weapon control, this time he wasnt so sure that was still true.
Knowing which sort of fighting each liked, they tried to prevent one from having the upper hand. Gil dashed forward firing some elemental spears, whilst Tash twirled her staff walking back either dodging the spears or sending ice daggers to meet them.
Gil started firing fire needles instead of fire spears, this was because he can fire them quicker and didnt have to think of forming them. Tash dragged the tip of one end of her staff through the ground, when it left the ground a large chunk of ice trailed behind it. The flame needles sizzled out as they sunk into the ice wall not be powerful enough to destroy it. As the ice wall wasnt see through Gil raised an earth wall on the left and a cloud of steam on the right.
"Crap which side will he come from." Tash said seeing the earth rise and steam form. "If i was a beast what would he pick"
Coming to the conclusion Tash shot a few earth daggers in the direction she thought. Gil raised the two walls as a distraction and charged at the ice wall and jumped over it wanting to close the distance as quick as possible. Just when his figure rose from the ice wall Gil saw 4 ice daggers flying at him.
[Auto defence activated]
Before Gil could react 4 flame spears appeared shooting at the ice daggers, as the two hit a large ball of mist was created.
"This feels like last time" Gil thought standing in the middle of the mist looking for Tash's attack. Instantly raising his left hand Gil condensed the mist into a ball, just as the last of it disappeared Gil saw Tash jumping towards him.
Gil blocked the staff with the flat end of his blade, just when the two met Tash changed the staff into 2 poles and was forming blades on each.
[Battle sense activated]
[Swordsmanship activated]
[Mana Detection activated]
Gil activated all off these before the ice blades where completely formed. With swordsman ship activated Gil had a clearer picture on Tashs moves and the best way to counter them. Blocking one ice sword and redirecting it up and out of Tash's hand the other ice sword grew in length. Jumping back before he was stabbed Gil fired the compressed mist still in his hand, just when the Tash was about to dodge it Gil willed it explode. The actual mist its self caused no damage, Tash was now blinded for a few seconds. Jumping backwards to a safe distance, Gil raised a few wind spears and fired them at where Tash was.
"Its the complete reverse of when we first fought" Tash said in her head. When the wind spear came through the mist it cleared some of it. Tash was thankful for that as it gave her a chance to defend against it. Using the mist in the air, Tash formed blocks of ice to meet the wind spear causing them to explode clearing the remaining mist. Charging in as fast as Gil could, which was very fast due to his agility, Gil brought his sword up and clashed with Tash's.
A loud bang was heard as Gil broke Tash's ice sword sending he flying backwards, twisting in the air and landing on her feet Tash looked at Gil. Putting his sword away and picking up the other half of Tash's pole Gil walked over to her.
"Guess thats why your graded higher then me" Tash said
"Im only high as you killed the end goblin, dont forget that." Gil replied trying to cheer her up.
"When you split your staff in half and form the swords, can you do that with the original staff" Giil asked with an idea.
Connecting her poles and creating the staff and forming ice blades on the tip of each end, showing she can.
"Can you change the shape to be different, such as a hammer or an axe" Gil asked,
"Ive never tried" Tash said, she had only been thought close range with duel swords and how to use the staff, she had never thought of forming anything else. The tip of one end of the staff melted away and a large block of ice formed on the end of the other.
"Its a bit unrefined but this is good, now when you hit me with the full staff earlier this would have been better as this would have pushed me back." Gil said looking at the ice block.
The two spend the rest of the day experimenting what Tash could build with ice, and with mana detection Gil was instructing her with any weak points or anything to improve on. When they left for dinner Gil went to the library as he had food in his inventory to eat and didnt want to surprise Tash with it, after Tash ate she met Gil there and spent a few hours reading like normal. They repeated this the following day ready to meet the support group.
Waking up and going over and knocking on Tash's room, after the incident the other day Gil turned round after knocking, the two went for there morning run. Since they started to now Tash had been able to go a lot longer so they didnt have to stop. After making it round the castle twice the two went for breakfast and then made there way to their normal training area out side. Like the time when they had to face the Goblins it was raised like a colosseum when walking through the froun they saw a sign.
"Support on the left

Following that the two walked to the top of the right area and waited for the rest talking about the supports they where after to join the team.
