Chapter 4 - Supreme Sovereign Zi Xiao

Long flowing black hair, loosely running down her back. Beautiful white and teal robes tightly wrapped her wonderful figure. Her face and body hand made to perfection like some divine creation. Deep eyes that shone dazzlingly in the light holding hundreds of mysteries. This is what he saw; something beyond normal comprehension. He saw a girl so beautiful, it might have been possible that she was actually divine creation.

His eyes widened at the deep attraction he felt, something he had never felt for anyone.

Watching her movement she seemed to be training her eyes somewhere, watching a small dog-like creature. Trying to follow her gaze, he was met with fuzz. Apparently, he could only gaze upon her, not that he had any issue with this.

In a moment of solace, her head snapped and locked toward the direction he was watching her from. Julong would have jumped had he been actually there, but this ethereal state was more akin to being asleep. But this one action made him sure that she could feel his gaze.

After a few moments of blank staring, someone in black robes walked up behind her. He couldn't determine anything about him, only that he exuded tremendous pressure.

"Xiaoyao-"

Zixiao Region - Unknown Location

When he awoke, Julong found himself in a foreign place. He was in a king-sized bed inside of a majesty filled room. Large and filled with so many cabinets and furniture that the majority were almost useless. It was like his room back in the Wan estate, only more extravagant. He wouldn't say he was calm about the situation, but it definitely could have been worse. Julong was guessing that this familiarity was the reason he hadn't properly freaked out with the situation he had found himself in.

He sat up and looked to the end of the bed where his robes and gold pieces were folded and laid out in order of how he would dress. That was when he realised he was wearing just undergarments. He was slightly embarrassed at the thought of someone undressing him, but he was still on the issue of trying to figure out how he had gotten there.

That's when it hit him. He didn't remember much from that day, but he did remember the one who he was assuming was Supreme Sovereign Zi Xiao, ruthlessly murdering the hundreds of Genesis Beasts that were threatening him with Saint Fire, all the while wearing a blissful smile on her face. That in itself was a scary thought, though that didn't mean it wasn't a beautiful sight.

Oh, he was in Zi Xiao's estate.

...

Wait-!

While it was unimportant whether the place he was resting was actually her estate or not, she had taken him away from the Wanzu region. His plan was successful!

His lips formed into a large happy smile. A small victory laugh followed in its wake, demonstrating how overcome with sheer joy he was.

"Yes!"

From there he had no issue moving from where he was to the robes that were on the end of his bed. He put them on affectionately, wriggling into the parts that weren't on properly to adjust them, ending up in a snug fit.

Now that he was in the Zixiao region he was going to have to move on to finding a master to help support his cultivation. There was almost no chance that Zi Xiao would house him for any longer than what was needed. His Cultivation Realm was rather low after all, though, this also brought up his next problem.

Finding a master wouldn't have been too difficult had he been in the Divine-Dwelling stage or above, but finding a master at such a junction as the Qi Nourishing Stage would probably prove to be quite a difficulty.

Why wouldn't it be? Being so young, it wasn't guaranteed that he wouldn't ruin his foundation by accident at some point. In the instant that this thought crossed his mind, he heard a soft and comforting voice around.

It didn't come from the front, from the side or the back. It was just there. It was unfamiliar and sort of freaked him out, but at the same time, the soft and gentle waves that rippled through the room at each word had an unfathomable calming effect.

A slight pressure pervaded his body, covering it entirely and surprisingly, making him feel incredibly safe and comfortable.

"Well isn't this interesting? I thought you'd be out for a few more days yet."

Space began to ripple in front of Julong and suddenly warped, turning into a tunnel-like distortion in space forming a spatial passage. It was followed by a beautiful woman walking out into the room he was currently in. He recognised her from the day she had saved him. She was no doubt Supreme Sovereign Zi Xiao.

He instantly took a 180 in his somewhat playful attitude and bowed to her.

"Uhh- Supreme Sovereign Zi Xiao, it's an h-honour."

She was a bit taken aback at the instant change in his attitude but giggled a little at the comical scene in front of her.

"Don't be so nervous, nor worry about such formalities - I won't bite."

Julong looked up into her eyes, a little confused, he could have sworn that Saints were a lot more entitled than she was currently being, but that might have just been Wan Zu. Even so, no one could blame them, the amount of work to reach the Saint Stage was incredibly arduous. They definitely had the right to be arrogant.

"Umm, o-okay?"

She smiled comfortingly at his confused face. It wasn't often she spoke to a Qi Nourishing Expert, and when she did they would generally just freak out. So it was a little impressive to her that Julong was so calm.

She positioned herself so she ended up sitting on the edge of the bed. Promptly, she signalled him to do the same. Doing so, he quickly sat down next to her.

"So why did you call out to me?" She was silent for a second to think before continuing with a small giggle. "It is quite a feat for anyone to be able to garner my attention with such tactics, especially one who was at the Early Stage of the Qi Nourishing stage. It shows that you have ambition, but obviously, I haven't spoken to you yet, so I can't figure out what it is."

Julong pondered for a moment. There were quite a few reasons for wanting to leave the Wanzu Region, but the main reason was: "I... wanted to leave the Wanzu region. My time there was exhausted, and I heard that there was a Law Domain Expert looking for a disciple in this region."

She gained a thoughtful look.

"So you got my attention because you realistically had no other way to leave the Wanzu region?"

She started to giggle ferociously. She found it so hilarious that someone would go that far just to leave.

"I have definitely underestimated you if that is the only reason you tried to get my attention. I do have a few questions about it, but I'll leave you before now. Regardless it is quite respectable that you are willing to go so far, even more so that you aren't even twisting the story."

It took a few seconds for her words to sink in before Julong looked her in the eye quizically.

"Does that mean you can tell if I'm lying?"

She nodded and adopted an amused look.

"Though for some peculiar reason, I can't properly gaze upon your Spirit, even so, because of how much more powerful my spirit is, I can just bypass yours and tell if you're lying. Cool right?"

"Mmm!" He agreed enthusiastically.

A moment of silence ensued between the two. This was because Zi Xiao seemed to be thinking, and Julong still couldn't believe he was talking to a Saint.

"Though, unfortunately, the one you were looking for recently left and has gone to the Cangxuan heaven. There is no other Law Domain expert in this region looking for disciples, not to say you couldn't woe one into taking you as a Disciple, but it is unlikely, since their foresight isn't so great."

"Oh... then, what about Nascent Stage Experts? Do you think any of them would be interested in taking a Disciple? Surely there should be some, no?"

Zi Xiao quizzically gazed upon him, something Julong couldn't understand. It was like she was questioning what he had just said.

"Why think so lowly of yourself to obey a Law Domain Expert, let alone a Nascent Stage expert?"

Julong was surprised to hear her say such a thing. She was obviously telling him to aim higher.

"Are you saying I should ask a Saint to become their disciple? I would not even dream of attempting to burden such an important person."

"Who said you would be a burden? Not to mention, in reality, there is no reason to be taken as a Disciple unless they are a Saint or someone in relation to a Saint. Otherwise, they cannot provide what you really need."

She was extremely serious now, looking right into Julong's soul. He seriously couldn't believe what she was implying.

"What's your name, young one?"

"Xiaoyao Julong. I'm 11 years old."

Her head tilted in intrigue when he said his name. She had just told him she could tell when he was lying, and yet he did so anyway. She could tell it was to do with his last name, but she wouldn't bother him about it, it was probably something personal. She would figure it out later since it wasn't her top priority - that was because she had become distracted after hearing his age.

"What?"

His eyes shimmered as he looked at her in confusion toward her reaction.

"I'm 11 years old?"

"Not only were you able to draw my attention at such a cultivation level, but you're also 11 years old? You really are a marvel, Xiaoyao Julong."

"Thank you Supreme Sovereign."

She shook her head at what he had called her.

"No, from now on you will call me Master, okay?"

Julong froze for a second. It was all too much to properly process. Many Saints never took Disciples, even if they were at the Law Domain Stage and had the possibility of adding another Saint to their faction. Yet she had just essentially accepted him while he was at the Qi Nourishing Stage!

"Yes, Master."

He went awfully quiet soon after, prompting Zi Xiao to gaze upon him almost sadly.

"What's wrong?"

"I'm just not sure I'm worthy of this."

She sighed abruptly. It wasn't one of annoyance, she understood where he was coming from, but she also knew that it would take a long time to fix this attitude.

"You're modest. I like that. But as I told you already, you're incredibly talented. Your age, being able to get my attention; that's not even something Nascent Source experts can do. Not to mention you are able to control Ancestral Dragon Qi, and I can sense a truly magical blessing from you."

Julong was taken aback by the praise he was receiving.

"I'm sorry for doubting you, I just can't bring myself to believe it I guess."

She smiled at that, "Your just milking compliments from me aren't you?"

He instantly shook his head, it wasn't his intention at all.

"Say, do you know what grade Genesis Beasts you were fighting on that mountain?"

"No. I never really got to analyse them." He admitted honestly.

"You were fighting Grade 3 Genesis Beasts. In other words, you were fighting Beasts on the same level as Heaven Gate practitioners. Granted they were mindless and weren't using Genesis Techniques, they still should have been able to kill you rather easily, and yet you didn't just wound them, you killed a lot of them. That should be enough to show you how much talent and potential you possess."

"Thank you, again for the praise Master."

"You call this praise? When we're done, you'll realise you didn't even know the meaning of Praise, Julong."

"Yes, Master!"

She smiled at him fondly.

"By the way, that technique you used on the mountain. Would you be able to tell me its name, I haven't seen it before."

Julong sighed.

"I don't actually know its name. My blessing reacted to the danger and showed it to me."

"You learnt it that quickly?"

"I guess."

She giggled at that, not saying anything else. Her actions conveyed all Julong needed to know. She was very pleased. At this revelation, Julong shook his head a little.

"Either way, since it was your blessing that made the technique you have naming rights. Make sure it's something cool, alright?"

"I'll try not to disappoint you."

She pet his head with an unbelieving face. She was just confused as to how he hadn't gotten through his head that he was special enough to be a Saint's disciple, but then again she was like that once with her master. She couldn't blame him.

"Come, I'll show you around. This is where you'll be staying after all."
