Chapter 7 - The Girl in the Dream

Floating in the air, surrounded by an aura made of Spirit Power was the girl whose name he didn't know.

He had seen her every time he had taken any sort of rest. Anytime he fell asleep, even for a few minutes, he would see her. It was something that was confusing for him at first, but he had slowly come to terms with it, and even looked forward to when he slept.

She was just floating in a spaceless realm while he watched. Her eyes were closed as he looked at her. This was the first time something like this had happened.

Her robes gently fluttered as if being moved by some sort of tangible force without said force actually being there. Her silky hair, similar in looks to his own without the gold fades, was strewn out behind her like she was lying down on something. The space he was in didn't seem to make much sense or have any laws.

It was just an empty domain.

All of a sudden he felt her presence increase, and all of a sudden her beautiful eyes snapped open. Her Spirit power disappeared and she looked blankly into the space in front of her, her pupils fully dilated.

They slowly focused and locked onto his body. Then interest peaked in them.

When she did, her hair fell down and draped over her shoulders, and her robes stopped slowly swaying.

They both looked at each other for a few seconds, intently training their eyes to each others' Iris as if trying to read one another.

She furrowed her eyebrows as the beginning of words began to rise from her throat.

"You are... Julong?"

"And you are... Xiaoyao?"

Julong had previously heard the name a few times right before he woke up. He was sure the reason he liked the name was because of some connection to her. That random name he had conjured for himself that day didn't seem so random.

She nodded with a small hum escaping her.

"Have you also been seeing me?"

Julong had felt like something would randomly come and watch him every once in a while when awake. He knew it wasn't a Saint because they had a much fiercer pressure to them, but this one was gentle and felt similar to the one standing in front of him. He was assuming he had the same effect on her whenever he saw her.

"I have seen you before when I sleep. It is a rather pleasant thing if I'm honest."

She paused for a moment, stagnating on the word honest.

"There is a very strange connection between us. But I can't tell what it is."

Julong nodded in agreement. Of course, he had felt it.

"You have a very familiar aura around you. One similar to the blessing I hold inside of me."

She tilted her head a little.

"Do you perhaps hold the Sacred Dragon Blessing?"

Julong shook his head.

"I don't know what blessing I hold. It is one that has never been seen before. But I have a feeling that it has something to do with you, Yao Yao."

He made a small play on her name to tease her, but despite that, she didn't react and smiled lightly. Julong didn't know this, but that action was a very rare occasion and one he probably wouldn't see again in a very long time.

"You hold something that is akin to Ancestral Dragon Qi inside of you."

"You have sharp eyes, but mine are sharper. It seems as though your body is made from it, though not quite."

She giggled to herself, an even rarer action than her smiling.

"I'm in the Cangxuan Heaven. Come find me and I'll tell you more. It should be pretty easy for you, being the disciple of a Saint."

A sigh escaped him. Of course, she knew he was the disciple of Zi Xiao, she had been watching him just like he had been watching her.

Julong shook his head and looked into the abyss above her head.

"That will be the only way for us to talk again after this, isn't it?"

"Unfortunately."

"And you won't tell me any more, will you?"

"Not unless we meet in person."

Julong was a little saddened to hear such a thing, but it made sense if this current meeting was only the first time something like this had happened. He was just a little confused as to why it could only happen once, but he felt she was extremely special, and thus had something to do with it.

"I told you where I am already. So hurry, or I might not be here any longer...

"Great Dragon."

In a split second, he was back in his room in the Saint Domain maintained by Zi Xiao.

He shot up in his bed. Why was it always the Cangxuan Heaven? Even the original reason he had come to the Zi Xiao reason had left to go to the Cangxuan Heaven.

He shook his head softly. He would go there at some point to find her. Maybe when he was a little bit stronger. There was one thing he was sure about, however, whoever was brought back by that Law Domain was going to be crucial to this story. He could feel it.

Either way, this brought a more pressing issue. He needed to get stronger.

Recently, under Zi Xiao's guidance, she had given him some low-grade Black Yuan Techniques. She didn't see any point in giving him Xuan Yuan Techniques as she was certain he would quickly outgrow them.

The Techniques consisted of mostly offensive Genesis Arts and body refinement art, known as the Minor Mythic Saint Body, which she explained was an External Cultivation Art she had created to help lead into the real Mythic Saint Body Arts when he progressed further along as it was known as by far the most beneficial External Art for low realm practitioners, and it had surprisingly come from the Cangxuan Heaven.

Among the Offensive Techniques, there was an art known as Blood Lightning - essentially just red lightning - which was one of the more powerful low-grade Black Yuan Genesis Arts. Another art known as the Heavenly Super Nova - a blast of highly explosive and concentrated Qi which surged out like a Super Nova, as the name suggests - another very powerful low-grade Black Yuan Technique. The final Technique was something known as the Spears of Divine Light - it basically created a wall of Qi spears that launched toward the target, or if the user so wanted, could form a combined spear for more concentrated destruction - this was by far the best technique she had given him and was also very rare for someone to get ahold of since it was a Technique which had the ability to evolve. In fact, Zi Xiao, who happened to also use the technique, showed him the final Greater Saint Technique version of the Art, and it was truly terrifying. Such a Technique was known as one of, and if handled correctly possibly the most powerful Genesis Technique of all time.

These were the perks of being the disciple of a Saint, only it meant that he would have to Cultivate nonstop to learn them. He didn't have much of a problem with this, it was mainly a concern when he went through a lazy phase, as, if he wanted to break through as fast as possible, it was not advised that he took many breaks.

It wasn't so much that he had many lazy phases, it was just that everyone has them at some point.

It just so happens that he was in such a phase after leaving the domain which contained Yao Yao, as he liked to call her.

"Urrgh..."
