Chapter 27 - The underworld

Inshal and Clorsh spent a few hours flying south, Clorsh stopped and dove. Inshal followed her down and they went into a large cave, in the middle of the cave was a hole with specks flinging out. "This the portal" Clorsh nodded for her to go in first.

"We can't waist anymore time" Inshal said and jumped right in. A wave of hot air swashed onto her snout and she immediately began to pant. A little fuzzy vision went and a dark cave confronted her, a light glow of molton laver was the only thing lighting up the cave.

"It's not this hot in the kingdom" Clorsh spoke behind her.

"I'll get use to it" Inshal reinsured her, "where is Marlo? do you know?".

"He should be in the castle" Clorsh pointed out of the cave, "let me show you". They flew up the cave and when they emerged Inshal saw a horizon of larver rivers and dark ground that is not earth at all. Clorsh pointed at a large castle like building, "he should be their" she explained.

"Right" Inshal turned to her, "I'm going ahead, you should rest your wings" Inshal informed seeing now how her wings are drooping.

"Yes your majesty" Clorsh bowed and began to walk ahead, Inshal dashed as fast as she could to the castle. She flew for what felt like hours at a high speed, she could feel the cramp in her wings strating to form.

Finally after hours of nonstop dashing she made it to the first gate of the city and she had to land to catch her breath. "Hult!" one of the gards raised his spear, "who are you? and what is your business here?" he snarled with a discussed tone.

"Well that's no way to greet your queen" Inshal snapped making sure he knows his place. If she has to pull her weight around the camp then she definitely has to pull her wight around the kingdom. "Ha!" he had an amused look, "as if king Marlo would take a hybrid".

"Bring him over and we'll see his options of your words" Inshal challenged and the gard nodded.

"Alright, apprentice!" he called out and a young demon came out of the tower, "ask for king Marlos presents say his 'queen' is here for him" he laughed. The apprentice just nodded and walked of.

"So how exactly did you two meet?" the gard had a mocking tone, "did you two meet in the hevens?" he changed to himself.

"You're gonna regret insulting me like this" Inshal threatened, "with Marlos help or not" she snarled.

"Yeah right" he brushed of the threat, "so what are you gonna do? send me to the dungeness? stab my eyes out with a sword? that's Marlos favourite one".

"Let me decide" Inshal played along but made a phycotic grin, "maby put chin balls around your ankles and drop you in the middle of the antarctic sea" she nodded. The gard kept quite after that threat. Inshal waited for a long while but her ears jumped up when she heard Marlos voice.

"Inshal" Marlo calmly called out to her and hugged her in close, "I heard my gards was giving you trouble" he looked over at the gard who insulted her and he squirmed and tried to leave but only failed. "I'll let you choose punishment" Marlo had a grin and fixed a misplaced fur.

"Not now" Inshal pushed him of, "the elfs know about the egg and had multiple demons captive, Xzaviar is one of them" Inshal explained.

"The elfs?" Marlo had a shocked expression, "how did they get Xzaviar?".

"They got him and me not long ago" Inshal continued to explain, "I managed to convince them that the angels were on their way but now Xzaviar and now all the other demons there believes that I betrayed you".

"Well by the time we get back to the portal, your wings are gonna fall of" Marlo then rubbed the base of them and now she can feel how much they ached, "we should rest in the castle for a while".

"Right" Inshal had to admit that she feels as if time is being wasted but she should meet more of her kin, "let's go". As they walked Inshal could see how how many of the demons here would just stare at her with looks of dissaprovle or confusion. "Don't look so worried Inshal" Marlo giggled a little, "they will stop those options once they realise that you are there queen" he said that part a little louder and everything stopped looking at her went back to minding their own business.

"So what is the kingdom like?" Inshal asked seeing a completely new culture.

"You'll see" Marlo sounded amused by her question, "let's just get you settled in first then you'll be able to see". They reached the gate and it wasn't like any grand arch from a ferry tail, no. It was as twisted and dark as the demons guarding it. "King Marlo would you like us to move that hybrid to the dungeness?" a gard asked and Inshal hissed at him.

"No!" Marlo hissed with her, "is that how all of you are planning to greet your queen!" he yelled out and all the gards shifted back to a gards stance.

"N- no sir" the gard stuttered, "I didn't mean... I'm sorry" he bowed begging for forgiveness.

"You will be" Marlo growled. Inshal grabbed hold of him before he killed anyone.

"Look everyone has been told that a hybrid is a disgraceful creature and now one shows up in your press, they think you captured me or something" she made sure her voice was soft.

"So you say I let them go?" Marlo looked confused and shocked at the same time.

"Yes but if they insult me to my face then we have a problem" Inshal had to keep a strong tone she had problems with getting demons to respect her from the camp and she isn't having that here.

"Alright" Marlo chuckled a little, he led her to the keep just on the opposite side of the court yard, it was tall, made of dark stones and had many gards guarding it. "You know from the camp I would never guessed you would have so many gards" Inshla commented.

"I many have them around to make sure there is no thievery" Marlo smiled and pulled her in close, "I don't need them to protect me, I can do that myself".

"So we spending time here to try and get a plan or what?" Inshal asked and Marlo giggled.

"If that's all you can think about when this beauty of a castle it infront of you, yes" he let go of her then led her to the thrown room. They walked through narrow corridors that led to very large rooms, mostly common rooms with laver lakes that demons would be resting in. They looked so calm but tensed up when they sa Marlo, then shocked expressions as they saw her. "Just this way" Marlo had his tail wrapped around a bubble surrounding her, in a defensive way.

Just up the stairs, she saw a large ball room sized building, the arches had creatures that looked nothing like the ones who rome the earth. Demons filled the eara, relaxed and just chilling but the moment they saw Marlo they jumped back into a formal position. "So I guess they are supposed to be working?" Inshal chuckled a little as they looked concerned that she is so close to Marlo and not dead.

"Yes" he hissed and flicked his tail, "useless when I'm not around" he pushed her towards a door on the side. "This was" he opened the door with a key that sat on the side, "you're gonna love this" he had a smile that just said he was happy, proud that he is showing of his castle to her.

The stairs up was more narrow then the hallways, the design of this castle is very different from what the mortals make. "Look" his smile seemed more like an angels then a demons and the glee in his eyes told her everything she needs to know. Squeezing past him, she saw a gorgeous sight, she never thought something that looks nothing like the hevens would be soo beautiful. "Wow" she smiled, looking at a set of thrones that are made of obsidian or something similar, twisted in a good way and laver flowing through glass tubes.

"I knew you would like it" Marlo hugged her in close, swaying as if in a dance.

"It won't take long for you to see the true beauty of this kingdom" Marlo kissed the top of her head, his hug grew tighter.

"Are you trying to get me to not worry about the elfs?" Inshal leaned into him, she had to make him believe that she is on his side, the word depends on it.

"Maby" Marlo let go, "come on, let's get out there" he moved but with the tight space, basically being pushed out. Looking out to the large room, Inshal could feel a little panic as cold and harsh eyes gazed at her from the shaded hall.
