Chapter 3 - How it began (part 1)

"He has left! He has really left!! I can't feel his presence there anymore! The king has finally left!", said a dark hooded man in a closed tavern.

"Shut up number seven, I know our leader prophesized this day to begin our march into the capital and take over the kingdom, but it doesn't mean you can spout your bullshit. Do you not know how the prophecies are always 10-14 days off? Let's wait, we have not even consolidated our forces yet." replied number four.

"Ah I can feel it, mm he is really not there, oh how excited I am to get in there and see that helpless look on the faces of those dukes!."

Number seven laughed wickedly, he could finally get his sweet revenge on those dukes who refused to hire him because of his personality and the nature of his power.

In the forests of Cyntra

Four young men could be seen sparring fiercely, but on a closer look one would realize that it wasn't the four men sparring, it was more of a 3v1.

"How do you do it?!", said one young man while throwing a fireball made out of thin air as he saw his target dodge with ease while dodging other attacks as well.

"It's simple really, you guys don't have many ways of attacking, and after a while there seems to be a pattern which is clearly recognizable and easy to predict."

"Oh really? Then dodge this!"

A fireball twice the size of the one thrown earlier seemed to appear at the hand of the young man

Whoosh!

"Kalmin, boost my fireball with your wind and Antonio use your spear to attack him from the other side!" commanded the young man Liam.

"Fine, here I go", replied Kalmin as his eyes seemed to turn green from their usual hazel brown. The nearby trees began to shake as something sort of a whirlwind seemed to form, Kalmin put his left hand out parallel with the ground, palm down. With his right hand, middle and ring fingers crossed, he made a slashing gesture at the palm of the left hand and then pointed at Adir while looking at the fireball.

The fireball instantly seemed to grow bigger and fiercer as it approached Adir with a speed double the previous one

"Look out" warned Anotonio as he gripped his spear and threw it with all his might towards Adir.

Swish!

The spear and fireball collided as the fireball was split into multiple lingering flames which died out almost as soon as they spread.

"Nice, you all are getting better with your teamwork." remarked Adir. 'It really is a big improvement from 10 days ago, when they were running away like a bunch of crybabies from some orcs and that mage.'

"Yeah yeah, but we still aren't able to even scratch you with our attacks. Until we are able to do so, I won't believe we have improved." said Antonio.

"Anyway, let's head back, that's enough for today, get some rest" said Adir as he began to head out.

"Where did you meet that monster, Antonio? Is he really as young as he looks, it's like we are fighting a ghost or something. One moment he's there and another he's gone!" said Kalmin, he had been friends with Antonio and Liam since before they awakened as elementalists and was surprised to see such a boy, who looked to be about as old as them, make light of them.

"I have told you already, he met me when I was guarding the entrance of the forests in case the goblins attacked."

"But that's weird too, goblins usually do not leave the forest, why would you think that day was any special?"

"Just know that we met there alright. That's how we got to know each other and that's it." said Antonio dismissively as he too started to head out of the forest at a fast pace with a slightly embarrassed expression.

"Hey wait for me!" screamed Liam as he started to run to catch up with Anotonio and Kalmin.

"Hey boys you're back." greeted Antonio's mom, Linda, as they arrived back at the village. Adir had built quite a good reputation in Cyntra, as during his time in the village, many if their problems had been solved.

He had taken up the job of gathering of food and resources from the forest, and ever since he started working there has been no casualty.

Miraculously their problem of less rain which caused them to gather water from a town far away had also been solved, as it seemed to rain as soon as Adir learnt of the problem. The villagers considered him as their goodluck charm and treated him with utmost hospitality.

In Linda's house-

"Mom, I think I will follow him, he says that there is much more to the path of a spearman and if I follow him I could become one of the best their is." said Antonio to his mom, with a face that was full of resolve.

"But son he isn't even that old and experienced! Don't just believe everything he says" commented Linda, worried that trusting someone so much whom he met 10 days ago might lead him to disappointment and pain.

"Me along with everyone doesn't even come close to leaving a scratch on him! Even if I do not become the very best their is, I would be happy enough being as strong as him." said Antonio with eyes that seemed to say he wouldn't take no for an answer.

"Fine, you can follow him, but take care of yourself. I do not want you taking unnecessary risks just because he says so and getting yourself hurt. okay?!"

"Yes mom I will take care of myself and come back stronger than ever!" replied Antonio excitedly as he could tread the path of spear with guidance as this time he would give it his all.

Antonio packed his stuff and went towards Adir's place of stay as on his way he met his two friends.

"Did you manage to convince your parents too?" asked Antonio as he recieved two nods for replies. Soon they reached Adir.

"So you've made up your minds huh?" said Adir as he saw the three young man approaching with determined faces. Just as they were about to reach him Adir called out, "Wait! I have something to tell you."
