"Gibor, you have one last chance" warned Barrett as he looked at Pan Cai with a grim face, who seemed to be contemplating on something while dodging Fergus' attacks.
"Chance? Me? We will see about that." said Gibor as he shook his hands and got ready to attack. But, as he was about to attack, he came to a sudden stop, along with Fergus, for an aura that shouldn't be here could be felt.
"Adir?!" asked a bewildered Gibor as he looked at the point the aura seemed to originating for, only to see a gem shining with an obsidian glow with what could be described as ominous runes rotating around it in Pan Cai's hand. It seemed to be pulsating with power, power rivaling the likes of Adir.
"What the hell is that gem?!" screamed Gibor as an expression of unease could be seen on his face. 'Is Adir here? Was this all a trap?! But Number Two's prophecies can't be wrong, the only drawback of them being so accurate is the messing of time...'
"I didn't think I would be using it so soon, and against someone who's not Adir. You really are hell-bent on ending up dead, aren't you? Why wouldn't you take the chance given to you? " Said Pan Cai as he sighed as he truly didn't want to use it on anyone other than Adir. He took the gem and as he was about to swallow it he stopped.
To be more accurate, everything and everyone seemed to have stopped. Fergus stood in a running position, Gibor stood wide-eyed, Barrett showed an expression of anticipation and Pan Cai was regretful but hopeful at the same time. Even though their actions had stopped, their consciousness and organs hadn't. As they started wondering what is happening, a dark patch of smoke seemed to appear in the room, which was changing shape constantly.
"A pathetic bunch of ants managed to get their hands on something like this?" said that creature as it seemed to giggle, but with a voice that could make one insane. "I would be taking this. You just made my job easier and shall be rewarded, it's a pity I can't use my powers to bless you as my slave."
Some sort of restriction seemed to have been place on this entity, as it could be seen it wanted to end all the people present there, had the power, but couldn't. It took the gem and vanished. Soon after it left, the atmosphere became lighter as although they could now move, they paused where they stood, trembling.
"What have you done? WHAT IS THAT CREATURE?!" screamed Gibor as he felt insignificant in front of it. Even Adir didn't seem to be that powerful, or was it because he controlled his power? Whatever may be the reason, it didn't deny the fact that a creature as powerful as that existed, and they didn't even know till now.
"I DON'T KNOW EITHER! MY ANCESTORS FOUND A RUNIC CARVING, WHICH THEY TOLD ME ALLOWED FOR ONE TO GAIN THE POWER OF THE PERSON THEY USE THE AURA OF." screamed Pan Cai as he panicked and shivered. He thought he would just swallow that gem and finally be able to reach the next realm of power. That was all that should have happened.
Fergus stood in one corner, absolutely terrified. From his childhood he had seen many powerful beasts, many times stronger than him, but never felt that he would not be able to gain their power once he got a hold of their blood or organ. But that.... that monster that was just here, it terrified him. For the first time in his life he felt threat, that if he were to even try using his power on it, he would die. Die in the most painful way imaginable.
As they were wondering what just happened, a blonde man entered the room. From the aura he felt earlier and the look on their faces, Adir could already guess what had happened and knew he was late, but glad they were all safe.
"Ad-- Your Highness! You're back!" exclaimed Pan Cai as he looked at Adir enter. He was relieved but worried at the same time. Meanwhile, Adir carried a solemn expression as he walked forward, he seemed to be searching for something, but could not seem to find or sense it.
"So he took the gem huh." said Adir as he sighed. Pan Cai and Barrett were shocked, Barrett started trembling as he worriedly spoke, "Your Majesty it's all Pan Cai's fault, I shouldn't have been deluded by him. He wanted to steal your power to grow," and received a glare from Pan Cai, who was about to attempt to ask for forgiveness as he was gestured to halt by Adir.
"Adir do you know what it was?" asked Gibor as he didn't treat Adir as a king but his buddy in war and rival. Adir's eyes carried a glint of nostalgia as he looked at Gibor, but it soon vanished as he spoke, "You people have a lot to know about, let me tell you what's happening."
Adir's POV
I reached the castle to see a bunch of dark hooded figures surrounding it, as I knocked them unconscious and entered the throne room I noticed that Achlys had left and noticed that Pan Cai, Barrett and Gibor were all not corrupted, although a man was still petrified due to its aura. I guess it's time they know what's happening.
"It all started 200 years ago, when I reached my current realm of power. I had finally become powerful enough to step into the river of time and peek into the future, though I couldn't utilize it endlessly and only see parts before I had to stop. As soon as I stepped into it, I noticed that Fellonia would perish about 437 years later. I found out there were three major people whose fate was entangled with this catastrophe, with one being the one who would cause it, and two who would emerge to try and stop him, to ultimately fail.
Before I talk more about the end of Fellonia there is something you should know. There exist many worlds other than ours, with people as strong as me and ever stronger than myself. People in power equal to mine can't just go to another world, we have many restrictions and a limited time to remain The one who came just now is the one who would cause the end of this world. He grows from destruction and has targeted our world to destroy."
As I stopped talking, Gibor asked, "But why would he choose our world only? Was it random or is there something you're not telling us...?"
