Chapter 49 - The Ambush of Frost pt. 1

Now that we've seen Sahasya's side, let's move over to the other in which his half-brother was thrown by the portal that dragged him. As soon as he arrived, he was fell on his face since he was being teleported during imbalance stance.

"Ack!" Oof… I could even feel his pain.

He immediately went on all four after that crash, as a reflex that he mustn't stay lying on the ground after a blow. But as soon as he did so, he began to realize one thing.

Everything is far too quiet.

"Welcome, ice boy~"

He heard a sultry voice greet him, and quickly turned his gaze upward to see what lies before him. There he saw a long-haired woman, with her head covered by a black transparent dancer scarf. She has a tight and curvy body taller than anyone on his team (that isn't dragon).

Her hair is silky black, and her eyes are round and empty shaded with pure white, while she had no nose and mouth to further compliment her beauty.

Her skin is black yet shadowy like a fading mist. Her whole body is tricky to see, as she is a Suanggi, who seems to exist between the realm of this world and their own. That's why we called them pseudo creatures.

Although unlike all the Suanggi I've seen at the time, she wore no such thing as clothing. Her body was out in the open for the eyes to see, and I'll be lying if I said she wasn't attractive. Still, her lines look so blurry.

She appeared to be sitting on a faded throne, with a large curved sword in her hand named scimitar. She might be mouthless, but I could sense a smirk on her face as she looks down on Hada.

Behind her and all of this plane surrounding, lined up thousands of Suanggis with their weapons raised ready for war. It was a highly menacing situation for Hada.

"You… you can speak!?" His face was fazed when he realized it, it was more shocking than how gorgeous she is in his eyes.

"All of us can speak, darling. Yet only those in my ranks able to use your language." She stood up, slowly walked toward Hada, approaching him in a seductive manner. Her sword however, was dragged violently on the ground. Its voice grew louder as if it were clawing hard at the ears of those who heard it.

The Malianis quickly went for his stance, completely alerted by her. His sword stand firm on his waist, coated in cold mists. Ices slowly enveloped its blade and Hada's eyes went lit up as he began channeling his spell.

"Awh~ no need to get so worked up." The woman tenderly caressed her black scimitar, and from each spot her fingers touched, white foggy light glowed. She's enchanting her weapons with void energy.

"Who are you!? I've never heard about a woman among the ranks of your kind!" Hada sweats profusely, her whole presence irradiates catastrophe. The closer she gets the more frustrated he went.

"Hehehe~" She let out a coquettish laugh and slashed her blade to the front. As if she cut reality, a line through the void was opened, the sight of emptiness was presented from it.

Hada also swung his blade as soon as she does, from it a wave of ice magic with the shape of a crescent moon sped fast towards the woman.

Yet the void also let out its shot, a spinning thin black circle with white mists around it. It blazed through Hada's magic and went straight to him as if his waves of energy got instantly deleted.

"O Cold Wind—" He desperately tried to dodge it. However, as soon as he does, its shockwave threw him far, closer to the other Suanggis who surrounded the entire place.

The Suanggis looked down at him, but they didn't seem to attack him nor do anything to him. As if their whole purpose is for being a wall for the woman's stage.

"Don't be so tense dear, our fun has only just begun." She grinned, walking back and forth while fiddling with her sword. "I'm sure you've heard of Yaksha, right?"

"Yaksha?" Hada stood up, he took his time slowly, being as cautious as he can. "The one with the mask and double-sided spear?"

"Correct~ those boys are my brothers. I guess then your kind would call me yakshi, I'm the female counterpart of them after all. Although we sisters are a lot larger and slower compared to them." She looked like she's enjoying herself. Explaining things to him without feeling threatened or anxious.

"We are different compared to the ones you've massacred. Honestly, dear, I don't think you have a chance to be coming home tonight." Her voice sounded so alluring yet terrifying at the same time.

"What a luck! Even Sir Mahanta struggles dealing with that yaksha, how am I going to survive this!?" Hada thought to himself while readying himself again in case another one would come at him.

"Why are you attacking me? No… why are you even in our world in the first place!?" Hada desperately asked. As if he's buying time for something. But whatever it is that he waited, it might not be coming anytime soon.

"And why would I answer that, darling?" She stares at the nails in her playful left hand, asserting a gesture as if she's all high and mighty, with Hada being not worthy of her time.

"You could at least fulfill my curiosity before sending me to perish from this world." Hada in fact, had no plan on dying. But he understood that he appears so helpless in her eyes.

"Hmm… I guess I could do that. If you could satisfy me~" She smiled seductively, while moving her posture into a more alluring manner. It's so hard not to stare especially with how she presented her body. Hada at least… agreed with me on that one.

"Satisfy you…?" Hada's confused and terrified. No matter how mesmerizing she is, that woman still sends shivers down his spine.

"Oh… are you too young to know how to satisfy a lady?" She bit her lips, gazing invitingly at Hada.

"I'm old enough to know how to stab my blade." Hada put a stance, with his sword lies firmly at the level of his head. He gripped his handle as hard as he can, to calm the fear that resides inside him.

"Well, ice boy… how about you warm up a little before you try to stab your 'blade'. You look a bit too… limp." She then snapped her finger. The sound it made was so loud, you can hear it echoing through the night.

The sky was filled with balls of void energy, absorbing air and dust around it while emitting mist to its surrounding. It was the spell cast by all of the void wizards' presence there and those advance are directed toward the sole Malianis in the middle of them all.

"Help me o Winter…" Hada gulped. He's shocked by how they turn such a beautiful night sky into horrors that could take his life away.

"Have fun~" The woman turned her back, and she went outside of the circling Suanggi while waving mockingly at Hada.

As soon as she got out, every single one of those void energy flew themselves into the spot where Hada is currently standing. They're big and might as well explode even bigger. Hada doesn't have the agility of a Genka to dodge all that.

*Boom!* *Boom!* *Boom!*

Shockingly, none of those void balls were able to touch the ground he stood on. Each was exploded by waves of ice energy and created cyan fog as they were clashing with one another.

When the fog finally perished, the image of Hada appears itself. But now he's no longer alone in the middle of thousands enemy. Around him stood a pack of ice wolves, with height at least half of Hada's body, and all of them carried a [Bara] on their mouth. Their blades glowed with cyan light, as bright as the moonlight.

"I may not be a lion, a prideful king who burnt his foes away. But I'm a wolf, a strategist who turned the tide of battle with his tactics in group combat. And luckily for me… I always brought my family with me."

Hada stabbed his sword onto the earth, and the solid ground began to crack and shine with enchanting cyan light. Fireflies emerge from it, and each of if absorbed the cold from the air, forming themselves into another one of Hada's wolves.

They were at least two hundred in total. And their fangs and blades are hungry for Suanggis to prey on. The moon goes brighter as the wolves howl for their hunt.

"I'll give you your warm-up, you trash eater!"
