Percy collapsed completely exhausted around 8 o clock. He had been running around for the past hour with those adults saving people from Zubats and Golbats.
Fortunately, he had encountered no Crobats which was a very good sign.
At first the group of adults were uncomfortable with Percy following them and helping them in battles but as he proved a valuable asset time and time again they let him walk with them.
As they traveled more and more of the town the originally small group grew into a group of more than 20 people. Percy had not seen a single sign of Ishigami but he wasn't too worried. Ishigami could handle himself. Percy cleared out the area around the house so he didn't think that Ishigami would be in any real danger.
Sasha is a mystery to Percy since he had lost sight of her long ago. In total Percy had defeated about 30 Zubat and 5 Golbats himself. He had captured all of them but none of them had good enough potential for him to consider keeping them.
So he handed all of the Pokémon to the man with the Rhyhorn and exchanged contact information with some of the people of the town that found him interesting. Percy felt fulfillment in helping people or else he wouldn't have helped as much as he did.
Percy collapsed on the door step of the house that Ishigami had gone into. He lightly knocked on the crude wooden door. A couple seconds later Percy heard light walking and someone opened the door. "Huh. Mammy there's a weird man outside." A child called. Percy looked up to see a child of about 6 staring at him from the doorway with one hand on the door.
Ishigami opened the door all the way and saw Percy face down on the ground. "Oh shoot." Ishigami picked Percy up and put Percys arm over his shoulder. Both boys walked with Percy heavily leaning on Ishigami.
He was completely exhausted and most of his energy had been drained. Most of the time on the road he had been battling wild Pokémon that were aggressive and Sasha sat in the back while Percy did all the work.
Ishigami set Percy down at a crooked wooden chair and left for a second to return with some soup. He set the soup down in front of Percy while placing a wooden spoon in it. Percy raised his head and spooned the thin soup into his mouth.
It was relatively tasteless and felt more like a thin broth than a soup. In the entire bowl Percy had only found one piece of what he identified as Rattata meat. The meat had lost all flavor and was kind of chewy and unpleasant.
Percy didn't care and finished the soup in seconds. He set down the bowl and looked at Ishigami. Ishigami shook his head, "Sorry man. That's all I can give you. There's none left and I even gave you a bigger portion." Ishigami looked genuinely sorry and his eyes held a complicated emotion. Percy nodded and looked at his surroundings.
At the moment he was at a small table with four chairs around it including Percys chair. The chairs looked poorly made and were not even at all. It seemed he was in some sort of dining room. The small room Ishigami had come from was a entirely wooden kitchen. There was a stove and sink that used water collected from the roof.
A dim light was placed between both the dining room and the kitchen. To Percys left, a rug with some toys and a large plush Koffing lay in a different room. It seemed to be some sort of play area for children. The only other thing on the first floor was a staircase that led to the second floor. Percy stood up unsteadily and wobbled up the stairs with Ishigami following.
He peered around a door to see Sasha sitting on the floor reading from a book. Around her, children from the ages of 3 to 12 sat in sleeping bags watching her intently. The room was completely empty except for the sleeping bags and a shattered window. "Ishigami?" A gentle voice called from the other side of the stairs. A woman appeared next to Percy.
She looked stressed and her brown hair had streaks of gray in it making her appear older than she is. Percys senses told him she was about 30 but she looked 45. Her posture was hunched over and dark circles lined her eyes. "Hello. This is the friend who saved Suzy. Percy meet the owner of the house, Amelia. She's the one who manages all the children." Ishigami introduced Amelia to Percy.
Amelia hugged Percy and sobbed into his shoulder. "Thank you so much. I don't know what I would've done if you hadn't saved Suzy. I was so scared." Percy remained silent as Amelia cried into his shoulder. In the children's room one of the children's stomach growled loudly.
Amelia pushed herself off of Percy and apologized. "I don't have anything to repay you." She sniffled into her sleeves and looked at Percy bleary eyed.
Percys heart squeezed in his chest. "No problem." Percy turned to Ishigami. "Where's the most edible Pokémon around the town."
Ishigami looked taken aback by the question but thought for a second. "To the north there is a Zubat cave, to the east is a forest inhabited almost entirely by bug type Pokémon, the west is a large group of Rattata and Raticate , and to the south there's a group of Sentret and Furret. The most strong group is easily the Zubat so be careful around there. We are actually fortunate that no Crobat have decided to attack." Ishigami described the situation.
Percy nodded and turned to Amelia. "How much food is needed to feed the children for one day."
"About 3 Rattata is enough for us to survive." Percy turned abruptly and went down the stairs. Ishigami followed behind him in confusion.
He sat on one of the chairs and motioned to Ishigami to join him. "Explain what's going on in the town." Percy asked.
Ishigami took a deep breath before explaining. "The Pokémon are mounting raids against the town and a lot of people are dying and being hurt. At the moment the biggest threat is the Zubat and Golbat. It seems all of them are timing their attacks at different times to make sure we never rest. We've found a pattern in the attacks.
The Rattata always will raid the day after the Zubat, the Sentret after that, and the forest of bugs after the Senret. Lately the intensity of the attacks is increasing and the most recent attempt was easily the most intense. Normally I could defend against Pokémon that could fly by myself but I'm afraid that I couldn't have defended this had you not been here.
You might've seen on the way in that there's a outer line of people that protect the town. They are there to spread out the flying Pokémon or stop the Pokémon on the ground. Yesterday a group of Paras broke past the line and made its way to the house.
I defeated them but now I know that I have to remain here all the time. Today the Zubat came an hour earlier than normal so I was unprepared." Ishigamis long black hair covered his eyes so Percy couldn't gauge his expression. "And Percy?" Ishigami said.
"What's up."
"Thank you for saving me from falling into the sinkhole. It would've been me in there if it wasn't for you." Ishigamis voice got thick with emotion.
Percy stood up from his chair and pat him on the back. He took some rations from his Pokédex and tossed them on the table. "Hey what was up with those purple arms." Percy asked.
"Aura."
Percy nodded. He had thought something along those lines. "I'll be right back." Percy left the house. He took off his snot encrusted shirt and put on a black hoodie and sweatpants since it was a little cold.
Slipping the hood over his head he began on his way to the south of the town. The dirt street was almost empty with only a couple of people cleaning up after the Zubat. Nobody questioned Percy and he easily left the towns parameters.
Once outside of the town he released Fúria and Pharaoh and crouched next to them. "Hey. Tonight will be to gather meat. So don't brutalize your enemies. Aim for the neck and don't char their corpse. Stealthy and quick, I don't want anything escaping or finding us." Percy found some dark mud and rolled around in it with his Pokémon to mask his scent.
He scratched the head of his Pokémon and sent off stealthily into the tall grass. He decided not to use Crash since he had a exhausting day and needed to rest. A couple of minutes of walking later and Percy noticed that he had officially entered the Sentret territory.
He didn't have any specific information on the Sentrets numbers so he wanted to take things slow. His eyes were heavy with exhaustion but he needed to push through. At first Percy only lined the territory of the Sentret since he knew that getting to deep would kill him.
He knew that the Sentret were cautious to a threat from humans and would be patrolling the area. So he only needed to wait to run into a patrol where he would quickly take them out in the grass and store their bodies. He knew that some Sentret will have Keen Eye and might be able to see him easier so his remaining aura was spent on sensing his surroundings.
Pharaoh and Fúria followed closely and as quietly as they could behind Percy. Eventually Percy sensed a group of Pokémon ahead of him. He directed his Pokémon around them and crept forward being as quiet as possible. The grass parted to a visual of two Sentret and 2 Furret talking to each other.
He scanned them with his Pokédex and was pleased to find that they weren't too worrying. The Sentret were level 13 and 11 and the Furret are level 16 and 18. Percy was sure that his Pokémon can easily defeat them in one fell swoop.
Fúria and Pharaoh burst from the long grass attacking the Fúrret first. The Furret were too caught off guard to retaliate and were defeated in one attack. Fúria used Bulk Up and Pharaoh used Swords dance before which increased their power. A Karate Chop easily knocked out the higher level one and a Metal Claw cut open the neck of the lower level one.
Percy leapt through the grass slashing down on the level 11 with his hatchet. Fúria appeared behind the other Sentret and knocked it out. Percy quickly and humanely killed the Pokémon and stored the Pokémon in his Pokédex.
He immediately left the area and stalked a different edge of the territory. They repeated the plan a few more times before Percy decided that he had to get sleep or he would pass out. It was about 1 in the morning and Percy got 7 Sentret corpses and 14 Furret corpses. His body was super sore but he was really happy that he got enough food for the children.
Fúria and Pharaoh made sure that all of the corpses had as much edible meat as possible. Only Fúria was injured and it was only a minor injury that would heal fine with time. Percy and Fúria walked in the darkness back to the town.
Soon enough they arrived at the door of the house where they entered to a completely silent atmosphere. Percy walked up the stairs into the children's room where he saw Ishigami sleeping on the floor. He quietly woke him up and pulled him out the room.
All of the corpses was handled to Ishigami who thanked Percy profusely. Percy fell asleep on the dining room table with Fúria nestled in his hair.
