Chapter 25 - Chapter 24

Percy walked into the hotel room and was disappointed to see Jason not there. He released all his Pokémon and went to take a long hot shower. After taking a cleansing shower he ordered Ekans food and starting explaining the training programs to his Pokémon.

Their training consisted of standard body training as well as reaction time training. Unfortunately Jormun couldn't participate in any kind of intense training so she could only watch on the side. Percy also came up with his own new type of training. It was meant to help his Pokémon maintain concentration at all times.

A lot of the time when a Pokémon is hit by a move they'll lose focus on preparing their own move. Percy knew how annoying it was if his moves kept on getting interrupted because the move took too long to use. When Haley battled against Ash her Heracross was hit multiple times by Ash's Thunderbolt but was able to maintain its concentration every time.

This meant she was able to not worry about having to out move the opponent and just take the damage and deal out more. Percy imagined that Haley trained her Pokémon with some kind of concentration training otherwise it wouldn't be possible for her Heracross to be able to keep concentration.

This training consisted of Percy having Crash watch something without ever looking away. Percy would consistently throw distractions at Crash. At first it started as yelling or maybe dangling something loud next to his ear. It ended in Percy throwing a pan at Crash causing him to completely lose focus.

Crash immediately chased Percy around for several minutes before giving up and grumbling. Percy was not spared from training and constantly worked out. He would use weights and perform multiple workouts. Most of his workouts shadowed popular calisthenics workouts.

After completely training their bodies the Pokémon moved on to move training. Pharaoh trained Flamethrower and Metal Claw primarily with a little Swords Dance and Protect on the side. Crash practices solely Aqua Tail. Percy wanted Crash to get it on expert as soon as possible.

The only reason he didn't do the same with Pharaoh was that he didn't know what move he trained the most with before he was caught. Instead of spreading out their time and focusing on one move they could effectively become stronger faster. Aqua Tail was Crash's best and favorite move so it only made sense to practice it.

Fúria practiced Bulk Up and Dig. She also tried to learn Mach Punch at all times. Percy did not stop working out until they had finished their move training. After finishing with the training Percy was covered from head to toe in sweat. It looked more like he had gone swimming rather than worked out. His clothes stuck to his body and he panted heavily.

They had been training for several hours and it was now almost 6 and quickly getting dark. Suddenly the hotel door opened and Percy saw Jason enter. Jason noticed Percy and said "Holy shit man. What the hell are you doing." Percy stood in the middle of the training room with sweat dripping on the ground around him.

His hair was matted to his head and it looked like he had a bowl hair cut. "Training." Was all Percy could get out. He turned into the bathroom and took another shower. This time it was freezing and only lasted 5 minutes. After Percy came out fresh and new with new clothes on. Jason sat on the couch watching the news on the tv. "So you've been out in the wild with Ash right?" Jason asked. "Yeah. Why weren't you there." Percy said. Jason shook his head. "I've had to close up that sponsorship from Charlotte and I've been busy. I even got 5 million for just the starting amount. Things are looking good." He smiled mischievously. Percys eyebrows raised and he shook his head.

They sat on the couch and watched tv and talked casually. Eventually something interesting came up on the news. 'The gym leader of Honey City recently had to step in to some wild Pokémon fighting over land. From our sources we've determined that a Fearow colony and Pidgeot colony clashed over some sort of disagreement. The confrontation ended with several hurt trainers in the area.

Fortunately no one died and they will make a full recovery.' Percy mentally cringed 'I wonder how Ash will take this new.' Percy personally doesn't mind too much. While he does feel bad for the people who got hurt he isn't going to lose sleep over it like Ash is.

They sat on the couch and watched tv for a little while longer until Percy got a message on his Pokédex. He looked down and saw a message from the girl he had given his contact information to. She asked him if he was still in Honey City. Percy responded and set his Pokédex down only for it to vibrate a second later. The girls name was Claire and she asked Percy to go out to eat tomorrow.

A few minutes later Percy finished talking to her. They would go out for lunch tomorrow and hang out for a little bit. Percy didn't think much about it and just put his Pokédex down. Percy went to sleep early as he wanted to get an early start on the day tomorrow. He woke up the next day at 5:30 in the morning and went on a jog around the city.

After finishing his jog it was already 7 in the morning and was time to get ready for the day. He got ready and fed his Pokémon. After making sure he didn't forget anything he left the hotel and headed toward the Pokemart. On the way Percy stopped at a clothing store and bought some clothes. It mainly consisted of black or light blue clothing.

He also stopped at a weapons store. It contained all kinds of knifes and blades. Even some military grade swords or axes could be seen lining the walls. When Percy had fought against the Fearow he had chipped his hatchet. It wasn't even something that could be fixed with a whetstone. Percy would have to have shaved down a significantly large amount of the axe to get rid of the chip.

He walked up to the counter and talked to the big bearded man who manned the store. "Do you have a weapon like this?" Percy slid his axe on the counter. The man inspected the hatchet. "I think we do. It looks like Charizard Metal." He said. Charizard Metal is a metal heated and melted by a Charizard.

The incredible heat and energy from the Charizard would infuse with the metal and make it stronger. There's all kinds of Pokémon metals with different properties. "What the hell happened to this thing anyway? I've never seen something so chipped before." He observed. "I fought a Pokémon." Percy shrugged. The man raised an eyebrow at this statement but after seeing the indifferent expression on Percys face decided he was telling the truth. "Well boy we should have something like this but it will cost quite a bit." Percy nodded. "How much?" "About 100,000. I'll have to see what the exact price is." Percy nodded nonchalantly. The bearded man shrugged and entered a room behind the counter.

A few minutes later he came out with three hatchets in his arms. He set them on the table and looked back at Percy. Percy had already decided which one was the best candidate for him. One of the hatchets handle was just too long and wouldn't fit him. When Percy uses his axe its not for attack or offense. Most of the time he's chopping wood or defending against a threat.

A long handle would provide less advantage when it came to defending but would make chopping wood slightly easier. Percy isn't sacrificing potential safety for a little convenience. The other axe was just to heavy. It's blade and handle was thicker and looked ill fitted for what Percy was doing with his hatchet. Most of the time Percy walked around with the axe in the Pokédex but when he's out in the wild it's on him. For defending against sudden and speedy attacks a slow moving weapon just won't cut it. If Percy had that axe when he was attacked by the Fearow he most likely would have been unable to get the weapon up fast enough to defend himself. The last axe was almost identical to Percys.

It had a dark metal and slightly red hue to it making it appear almost devilish. A blue lining along the rubber handle contrasted well with the red and black making the axe somewhat stylish. "I'll take this one." He pointed at the hatchet he wanted. "Alright that'll be 110,000." Percy immediately payed and left the store. Then he bought a foldable chair to keep in his Pokédex. After that he went to the Pokemart and bought a Protect TM for Jormun. He had already bought her food for when she started transferring to solid food.

She has already become level 4 and it would only be about a week until she technically becomes an adult. Percy was planning on trying to sharpen his battling skills by going to the Trainer Battling Association. Even though he could technically get battles outside of the Association building it was significantly easier to get a battle outside of the building that is present in each city. Soon Percy arrive at the building and saw 10s of trainers battling against each other in small arenas. There was a bigger arena that was currently empty. Percy entered the building and applied to the battling list.

The desk person told Percy that he would be able to have a battle once somebody of equal place applies. He would get a notification on his Pokédex telling which arena to go to. After only 5 minutes of waiting Percy was told to go to Arena 8 to battle. Percy walked to the arena where he found another trainer and a drone waiting for him. The drone instructed both trainers to release their Pokémon in which they did. Percys opponent was decked out in green and yellow with a bug net slung over his shoulder. He sent out an incredibly terrible looking Beedrill. The Beedrill was decrepit to say the least about it.

It looked as though it had gone through many battles without being healed once. It didn't even look like it won a single battle. It's mouth was foaming and it struggled to even hover in one place. Unfortunately there wasn't an actual person to referee the match so they couldn't call it off. Or maybe even call the police for Pokémon abuse. "Let's go Beedrill. We can win this." The trainer shouted excitedly and without doubt.

The drone started the match and the Beedrill slowly buzzed too Crash.

Crash looked just as mentally defeated as Percy and could only watch as the Beedrill flew in drunken circles. After about 30 seconds later the Beedrill finally reached Crash where it passed out at his feet. "Trainer Eugenes Pokémon is unable to battle, Percy is the winner." The drone stated. "Aw man, I really thought we had it too." Sounding only mildly disappointed the trainer recalled the Beedrill and walked away. Percy stood there with Crash for a minute before making a decision. "Let's go free that Beedrill bud. I won't be able to sleep if we let that go." Crash nodded and followed behind Percy and they followed the boy.

The boy walked around aimlessly checking out random stalls and restaurants. Eventually the boy walked through a dark alley where he was immediately jumped by Percy and Crash. Percy has previously checked for cameras or any security measures. Percy didn't miss a beat and immediately knocked the boy unconscious and stashed his unconscious body in a pile of trash. He took the pokeball off of the boys belt. After that he immediately ran toward the Pokémon Center and healed Beedrill.

Then he fed the poor Pokémon some food before trying to talk to it. Percy watched the Beedrill destroy the bowl of food he gave it. It looked a lot better than what it looked like before. It's head turned from side to side nervously as if it was watching for danger. Fortunately it seemed to identify Percy as a friend and not a foe. A few minutes later it finished eating its third bowl and was finally full.

It hovered hesitantly in front of Percy before looking for orders. Percy was thinking about what to do with the Beedrill as there wasn't a lot of options. If Percy released it to the wild it wouldn't last long. It would be unable to join any wild Beedrill colony's as they wouldn't accept anything other then their own. A Beedrill by itself would almost surely die and stand no chance. Eventually Percy thought to just take the Beedrill in.

He thought that maybe he could make a Beedrill army. He scanned it with his Pokédex and saw that it was only level 13 and had White potential. Percy recalled it back to its pokeball and started slowly out of a random alleyway. Percy went back to the battle arenas and applied for a battle. Over the next 2 hours Percy battled trainer after trainer. Fortunately there wasn't a single person who treated their Pokémon as poorly as the first boy. Percy breezed through the battles with relative ease.

He used Crash and most of his opponents only had white potential Pokémon that levels were below 20. He participated in 7 battles and won every one. The last battle however was a little more difficult than the others. Percys opponent had a Pinsir. Unfortunately he was unable to scan the Pokémon until after the match. But after when he defeated it he found out that the Pinsir had Dark Green Potential and was level 20.

While the match wasn't close it still provided a decent challenge. The Pinsirs moves were nothing special and had the same amount of mastery spread across the board. This trainer actually asked Percy for tips on how to get stronger. Percy just told him to focus on one thing to get stronger. Spreading his time and resources across the board does make him more balance it leaves him with no particular strength.

Developing power in a specific category and becoming the best at it is better than being average at everything. This doesn't apply to all situations but if you don't have a particular strength, somebody with a particular strength would be able to defeat you. Percys strength is firepower and strength at the moment.

He himself would like to balance his team out with a wider variety but for somebody with just 1 Pokémon should focus on one thing. Percy also recommended a move for the Pinsir to train. He even gave the boy his contact information after he asked for it.

The boy showed decent combat awareness and potential. After battling for a little bit Percys position rose to 450,926,190. It was almost time to meet with Claire and Percy went on his way to the meeting spot.
