"Then stop fighting anymore if you don't want me and others to mistake the two of you for a couple," Stanley tried to use this way to get them to stop fighting.
"It's not like I love fighting with him but his words always get me annoyed...
"As if you are different. I can't stand the sight of you so I would suggest that you leave now before I do something terrible to you," Caleb said carelessly not knowing that his words dealt a huge blow on the lady who was doing all these things to get his attention.
If it was only forgetting me then I would have been slightly ok with it but right now, it looks as though he hates me. He said he doesn't like the sight of me? How could Riley tell me this? Has losing his memory makes him become a heartless jerk?
Yelena thought not being able to hide her emotions. The first person to notice her sad expression was Caleb but he pretended not to see it.
She was fine earlier so why has she become this way after I spoke to her.
Caleb thought instantly looking away when Yelena turns to stare at him.
"Miss Yelena...,"
"Even though we merely met a few minutes ago I consider you a friend so you can address me as Elena. I prefer that to Yelena or Miss Yelena," Yelena said not looking active like she was a few minutes ago before Caleb uttered his last sentence.
"Elena, you don't have to take what he said to heart. He isn't normally this way, I don't understand why my cold friend will stoop to bickering with you. I guess he is acting contrary to himself because he likes you...,"
"Stop making baseless assumptions," Caleb stood up and went to stand far away from their table.
Just then a lady wearing short black skirts that barely covers her big buttocks approached him. Judging from his expression while the lady says flirtatious words to him it showed he didn't dislike the lady just like he loathed Yelena.
"Stop staring at them because you will only get hurt," Stanley who saw how keenly Yelena was staring at Caleb and the lady publicly flirting with him said as he carried the glass of wine and sip it content.
"Why do you say so?" Yelena brought back her gaze to the guy sitting beside her.
"Because from first glance I could see that you are into him. Although you pretended to be so into me earlier, I could see that all your attention was on him. You were talking to me to make him jealous," Stanley said in a composed tone.
"You are not only quite observant but I can see that you are good at reading other people's emotions. I can't believe I was caught by you," Yelena said forcing on a smile.
Since he has found out my feelings for Riley without me having to tell him then I guess I don't have to worry that I will make him fall in love with him while trying to win back Riley's heart. I can even use him to get closer to Riley.
Yelena thought grinning inwardly. She forgot that Stanley was still staring at her.
"Since you know how I feel about him, can you help me? I promise that I will never forget...,"
"I might be his best friend but I don't think I can help you get closer to him or make him like you...,"
"That's not what I meant by helping me. You got me wrong there. What I meant is that I would very much appreciate it if you can tell me more about him. Right now I only know his name. I know nothing else about him," Yelena said faking a pitiful expression. To get her man back she wouldn't mind resorting to any means, an exception is harming people to get him back
"I know he saved you but I am also sure you are aware of his real identity so why are you still eager to pursue him despite knowing that he isn't a human like you?" Stanley asked as he stare at the stubborn lady who was hell-bent on wooing his friend.
So they both think I am a human? This is getting more interesting? Maya's new stuff sure works wonder. It didn't only conceal my identity as a vampire but gave me a human scent. I will be a fool if I don't use this to my advantage.
Yelena thought smirking from within.
"Vampire or not, it doesn't matter. What matters is I have taken a liking to your friend. Although humans hate vampires there is nothing they can do about it other than to accept since the President of our country has issued degrees, allowing humans and other beings to coexist. We are one already so what is wrong if I am in love with a vampire?" Yelena asked as she stole a glance at the guy who was still talking to the same lady.
"You are the first person to utter such a word. I have never seen a human who isn't afraid of vampires after learning about our identity but you are different...,"
"I am not only different but also unique. You will get to know more about me when I fully start pursuing your friend," Yelena said with pride. Stanley couldn't resist smiling at the lady who sounds so confident that she would win his friend's heart.
The two continued talking for about ten minutes.
"So you mean you reside in P City but only came here for some business?" Yelena repeated his words just for affirmation.
"Yes, we will be returning in a few days," Stanley who has dropped down his guard with her after interacting with her said.
"Can I have your contact so I will be able to keep in touch? You know he won't spare me a glance if I ask for his contact," Yelena said in a meek tone. Stanley gave her his contact details. It was when she was about to give him her contact details that Caleb reached their table.
"We are never gonna meet again so it's useless doing this," Caleb prevented Stanley from collecting Yelena's contact details.
