Owen Bertram sat down, a bit tense as he looked at the food in his bowl: "Nine-leaved Fern?"
Ava Bertram pouted: "Elder brother still doesn't trust me."
Owen Bertram laughed, bracing himself to pick up the bowl and try a bite. Indeed, the food tasted exactly as it smelled — delicious! He cast aside all of his worries, gorging himself on the meal as his sister finally broke into a happy smile.
The scrumptious aroma floated out of the siblings' courtyard. Rachel and Emma Scott among others smelled it, and out of curiosity, they followed the scent. They saw Ethereal Devin and a group of military officers squatting at the entrance of the courtyard, greedily sniffing the fragrant smell.
Rachel was puzzled: "What is Chief Flag Devin doing?"
Ethereal Devin sighed: "We can't eat it, so the least we can do is smell it."
Rachel laughed, ready to knock on the door and go in. Ethereal Devin quickly stopped her: "Don't go in now, Missy's spoon doesn't discriminate!"
